Shelves: poetry
A "must read" for fans of Ginsberg's poetics and highly recommended for anyone interested in the mechanics of poetry. Ginsberg's wonder as a student of language shines through clearly throughout the whole volume as he cites many poets who have impacted his own prosody. The end chapter where he talks about the work of William Carlos Williams–outlining his own thoughts on "No ideas but in things"–is particularly good. ...more
