Oh my, she does learn fast…

This review is a little spoilerish if you haven't read the first in the series, so please proceed with caution.

Holy Shamoly…we’re hitting the homestretch. This year has gone so fast and I can’t believe we’re nearly at Christmas. Reading has unfortunately taken a backburner to real life stuff. Bloody kids, you’d think they were the centre of my universe or something? Luckily, this weekend I managed to set aside some quality reading time and managed to tuck myself in bed

Sissy's Romance Book Review
'The Rebel of Clan Kincaid' by Lily Blackwood is book two in the "Highland Warrior" series. This is the story of Magnus and Tara. I have read the previous book but I do think you can read this as a standalone book. We did learn in book one "The Beast of Clan Kincaid" that Magnus was really Faelan Kincaid the second son of the Kincaid family. Magnus was lost when his family was taken over and killed by enemies. Magnus didn't remember his previous family and only thought of himself as a bastard so ...more

I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

After her parents died, Tara spent her childhood in a convent away from her sister. When her powerful guardian the Earl Buchan finally comes to get her, it's to deliver her for marriage. Attacked by outlaws on the journey, Tara is rescued and kissed by a man claiming to be her betrothed.
As the bastard son of the Laird Alwyn, Magnus has had to fight for everythi

This book was more romantic than The Beast of Clan Kincaid and I loved that! Magnus is swoon worthy. This series is so good! Its light, sexy, full of romance and intrigue. Can’t wait to read book 3!

And it is official. I am addicted...I drank in the words of this book and could not stop myself until I finished it. This hasn't happened to me in a long time, especially with recently released books. It felt so good to be sucked into a story where I didn't care that chores weren't done, my husband was hungry, and it was 2:00 in the afternoon and I was still in my pajamas. I had the "this-is-why-I-read-romance" feeling and I didn't want it to stop.

SPOILERS FOR THOSE WHO HAVE NOT READ THE FIRST IN THE SERIES

This book starts off and continues even better than the first one. Magnus and Tara are on their way to my favourite couple list. I had really liked the character of Magnus from the first book and had hoped for a happy ending for him (before we saw the big twist!). Tara however makes her entrance with this book and has really earned my love and RESPECT. She manages to keep a cool head even in the most panic inducing situations. Altho

OK. Here we go. Words cannot describe how much I love this book and this series! It is absolutely amazing! It's got action, drama, romance, and suspense in just the right amounts. I actually read the last few chapters multiple times because I didn't want to be finished. I'm still not ready to move on. In all honesty, I am quite upset I have to wait until the end of next July for the next book in the series. Saddest face.

So if you aren't

I am absolutely and completely in love with this series!!! I couldn't put it down once I started it and read it straight through. I didn't finish it until 3AM, but it was totally worth it!

The first book was full of action to set the stage for the series. I LOVED it! Now, this second book in the series brings us the second brother and a less violent, more introspective book. Still just as wonderful as the first -- just different. The pace is just right, the characters are fully developed and the

This is the story of Tara and Magnus, who is really Faelen, son of the Kincaid. Evidently, this picks up right where book 1 in the series ends, but I read this as a stand alone and had NO trouble following along.

Most of the book was spent with Magnus trying to find out what happened to his real family and plotting to defeat Alwyn, or with Tara searching for answers about what happened to her sister Arabel. After all the searching and planning, I was a little disappointed at the climax. There was

The Rebel of Clan Kincaid was a fantastic romance between a highlander out for revenge and a woman determined to gain her freedom.

Magnus was always told he was the bastard son of Laird Alwyn only to find out he’s the son of the murdered Laird Kincaid, the Alwyn’s sworn enemy. Biding his time within the safety of Alwyn’s walls as the Kincaid threat closes in, Magnus plots his revenge against the men that stole his birthright. When Tara Iverach arrives to marry Alwyn’s son Hugh, Magnus sees an opp

Tara’s Story

I was absolutely excited to read book two of the most wonderful series, Highland Warrior. Such an emotional fight for young Magnus. He was always expected so many wrongs in his life. I completely adored this sensational tale so much!

Tara Iverach’s awoken by the holy Sister in the bitterly cold morning.to tell her protector, Alexander Stewart was coming to see her her. Tara was absolutely excited. She was going to meet Buchan. What would happen to herself now? Was sh

This was an okay read. I liked Magnus/Faelan better than Niall from book one, and both main characters were likeable, but I didn't feel any emotional connection to them. Their moments together were few and far between, and there was so much going on with the outer plot that their romance was sort of pushed to the side, especially seeing as both of them knew things about the situation that the other didn't and they never really actually knew each other. The romance being pushed to the side for th ...more

Once again Lily Blackwood has written a swoonworthy romance full of secrets, mystery, and true love! I fell in love right along with the two main characters, making me wish their story didn't end with this book but continued on in the next. Though this book had a darker tone than the first book in the series, it was highly enjoyable, and I read late into the night with unstoppable eagerness to see how everything would turn out.

In book two of the series Magnus is told that he is someone entirely different than he has always been lead to believe he is. Why? To keep him save because the man who is REALLY his father was killed by the man he THINKS sired him. Add onto that he finds out that he has two brothers that he can’t remember and one despicable half-brother that he is not related to at all. What does he want? Revenge!

Lily Blackwood has found her niche with this wonderful Scottish series! I loved the first book in this series, “The Beast of Clan Kincaid” and this one is just as good, if not better. I’m really looking forward to the third brother’s story in “Warrior of Clan Kincaid” coming next year. These books can be read on their own but I think you’ll get more background if you read them in order.

Tara Iverach has lived in a convent since the death of her parents. Her older sister, Arabel, had been sent to

In this second installment of Lily Blackwood’s Highland Warrior series, our hero, Magnus’s, life changes the day he finds that he’s not the bastard son of the Laird Alwyn, as he has always believed. Rather he is Faelan Braewick, the second son of the unjustly slain Laird Kinkaid. Now, his anger rules him, and he vows retribution against Alwyn, one of the men who plotted against and murdered his true family.

Tara Iverach has been cloistered at a priory since her parents’ death five years before.

Unfortunately, I find myself not liking this one as much as the first. I found that something was... missing.

We've already known the hero of this book would be another missing Kincaid brother - there was a snippet at the end of book 1. It was really unexpected, I never saw that coming.

I felt like this one was dragged out with certain things, while others - toward the end - were wrapped up neatly and fast. As I said, that something, that climax, was missing. Even though I finished it in one day,

When it comes to Scottish romance I am all on board on reading one, I try to stick with the authors that I know. But reading the synopsis for The Rebel of Clan Kincaid penned by Lily Blackwood, I decided to give it ago. I am so happy that I did. The Rebel of Clan Kincaid was a fantastic story of treachery and revenge.

The Rebel Of Clan Kincaid is my first book by Lily Blackwood, but won't be my last. Ms Blackwood's impressive writing had me hooked from page one. The Rebel Of Clan Kincaid is a well written, action filled book. Magnus and Tara's story is a fantastic historical romance that is loaded with drama, suspense and sizzle. The characters are perfect for this story and my favorite part of the book. I enjoyed reading The Rebel Of Clan Kincaid and look forward to reading more from Lily Blackwood in the fu ...more

I did enjoy this story, just not as much as book 1.
This story tented to focus more on the political struggles and the clan history and the disagreements between the Kiincaid's and Tara's guardian - Buchan and the mystery of the death of Tara's sister while she was in the protection of Laird Alywn awaiting to marry his son, rather than romance, I felt the story dragged a little with all the past history over load. The second half of the story though had a lot more romance between Tara and Magnus

Folks, it picks up exactly where I hoped, Magnus’s reaction to some life changing news that sets him on an inevitable warpath seeking justice and revenge.

It's hard for me to find historical romances that have interesting plots and good lovemaking scenes in them.
Just like The Beast of Clan Kincaid, this story did not disappoint.
The plot is fantastic. The Villain of the story, Alwyn, is a distant Father to his bastard son Magnus. But, the twist is, Alwyn doesn't know Magnus is the actual son of a Laird Alwyn helped murder. And Magnus didn't know either until recently.
Tara is the ward of the King's youngest son, and is arranged to marry Alwyn's t
