Anna just wants to earn enough money on the side to buy into the bakery, Callie’s Cakes, where she works together with her best nerd pal Callie. The last thing she expects to see when she walks into Arthur’s apartment to do some moonlighting is a blood bath. Callie’s ready to jump into the investigation into Arthur’s murder, and she’s bringing another bakery worker, Kristie, into their hijinks whether Kristie wants to or not. But things aren’t as they seem. There are gang affiliations, illegal gambling dens, and ladies of the night to wade through. Will Anna and Callie discover who murdered Arthur or will Callie’s detective boyfriend and Anna’s self-appointed protector put a stop to such aspirations?
Come join us at Callie’s Cakes, where murder investigations are on the menu, but make sure to bring your own baker, because Anna’s a bit preoccupied at the moment.
Warning: This is NOT your mom’s cozy mystery. Bring Your Own Baker may be a ‘clean’ read, but if gangs, illegal gambling, and pimps make you turn your nose up at your e-reader, you might want to skip this one. Although you’ll be missing some sizzling chemistry between Anna and her protector. Not to mention a whole bunch of witty dialogue.
Elaine Spaan is the mystery-loving, sweet-talking alter ego of romantic comedy writer D.E. Haggerty. She’s addicted to BBC murder mysteries and is currently obsessed with Scandinavian mystery shows. She sees intrigue around every corner and is quick with a story when caught staring at a stranger she’s convinced herself is hiding a secret. Her mysteries always include laughter and love because what’s life without someone to share a laugh with?
Looking for a sassy cozy mystery with a healthy dose of swoon-worthy moments? This is it!
Anna, the pixie sidekick of Callie (Death by Cupcake, book 1), wants to buy into Callie’s Cakes and she’s almost made enough money moonlighting as an accountant for her buddy, Arthur. But before you can say buttercream frosting, Anna walks into Arthur’s brutal murder. So. Much. Blood. The goofy, inept police detectives suspect her (of course they do) for the crime. Are they serious? Anna is a pixie in every way from her five-foot frame to her pink hair. There’s no way she did it but little does she know, she’s in more danger than she could ever possibly imagine.
Cue bad-boy music…
A tall, dark stranger breaks into Anna’s apartment, only he’s there to protect her. He’s got the tats of one of the most ruthless gangs, Angel Band, and Anna’s blood pressure just spiked higher than her crème brulee blow torch. She doesn’t know what to make of him but she can’t deny the way he makes me melt like chocolate ganache.
Anna needs to find Arthur’s murderer and she enlists the help of Callie, Kristie and even Ben (Callie’s boyfriend). The more they dig, the more they discover nerdy Arthur is not who he appears again. Then there’s the way Anna’s protector swoops in to rescue her at just the right moment. Can Anna find justice for Arthur or will she back herself into a corner she can’t talk her way out of.
A brilliant cozy mystery slash romantic comedy by Haggerty! Anna comes alive off the page and I found myself laughing at her antics. Then there’s her bad-boy protector. I swooned more than once and sparks fly between him and Anna. The plot moves at a super-fast pace, I was able to keep up with all that’s going on.
I can’t wait for more! Bring Your Own Baker has everything you love in a cozy mystery: witty dialogue, overly excited amateur detectives (Callie and Anna), baking, romance, great one-liners and a murder to solve. Did I mention baking? There’s even a fantastic recipe after the epilogue. This is a must-read!
Favorite Character:
Anna. She’s my alter-ego, I swear. Hot on a trail of her friend’s killer, she stands up to gangsters, pimps and a den of catty prostitutes. She may be a pixie but she’s got guts the size of the Grand Canyon. Oh, and I adored the way she compares her yummy bad-boy protector to various baker items (chocolate ganache, frosting, whipped cream, crème brulee, etc.). I’d love to see her in another book. I loved her POV!
Favorite Quote:
Logan’s grin is wicked. “I always thought Tinker Bell was hot.”
Arthur wasn't in a gang. He was a computer programmer. Unless there's some total nerd gang I haven't heard of.
Maybe we should get you a gun. No one's going to be intimidated by a sprite in Strawberry Shortcake pajamas holding a knife.
The last thing we need is a gang targeting Callie's Cakes because of our extracurricular activities. Stupid gang probably wouldn't understand that harming cupcakes is akin to sacrilege.
Holy coffee cake, you guys make me hot. Like smoking hot. I should probably carry a fire extinguisher in my clutch.
Not going to lie. I have no idea what I'm talking about. Most of my information about prostitution is the result of an obsession with Richard Gere and Pretty Woman.
My Review:
Anna is a pink spiky-haired pixie sized baker who stumbles into several remarkably odd and dangerous situations once she becomes embroiled in solving her friend's murder, well she just has to since the police show no interest in the effort. She lives to bake and even uses the names of desserts to swear with. I adore D.E. Haggerty and her clever cozy mysteries! I adore everything about her work - the quirkiness of her lovable characters, the odd situations they find themselves in, the eccentricities of the secondary characters, the snarky inner voices they use in their heads, the humor, the banter. It is fun and clever entertainment start to finish, with an intriguing mystery as the buttercream icing on the cupcake.
I never thought I'd say this, but I think Anna, the pink pixie-haired girl is sooo adorable and funny; I like her even better than her boss Callie.
Let's see.. Well, sometime ago, her friend and boss Callie, was accused of murdering her pole-dance teacher and was rescued by Ben, the hot detective who's been harboring feelings for her. Now, Anna's friend hacker, Arthur, was murdered in his apartment, and surprise, surprise, she's the one getting accused of killing him because she's the one who saw the bloodied body. What were the odds that the team of Dumb & Dumber detectives who investigated Callie would also be the ones to grill Anna? Well, tough luck baby, but she's not getting love from these men at all.
Logan from the Angel Band gang surreptitiously broke and entered Anna's apartment, demanding her help with the situation. His identity will mystify Anna to no end, and I myself was astounded by this guy's mere presence.
DE Haggerty pens another delightful mystery-suspense story that made me laugh and roll. She's quite wicked with her characters, I must say. I thought Callie was hilarious, but Anna seems to be running the show this time and she's amazing. I loved the banters between friends, and Logan's hot machismo that had Anna drooling. The murder suspect, oh that was really unexpected. I am embarrassed to say, I didn't think he was the one who did the murder. Uh-oh. Looking forward to reading more of Haggerty's story, and I'm sure it's gonna be so much fun!
It's adorable, it's funny and it has a mysterious bearded man who just happens to make that look work for him (which is not easy). Add to that a murder, some far from legal actions and some delicious cooking and you've got another great book from D.E. Haggerty.
This time, we're following Anna - the little pixie baker from Callie's Cakes. She's working her ass off to get enough money to buy into the bakery. The problem is her employee and friend just got murdered. Will she follow in Callie's footsteps and help to solve the murder?
And who is this creepy, yet somehow hot mysterious guy who keeps sneaking into Anna's house? Is he really a gang member? Will he kill her if she'll get too close to solving the mystery?
I had a fantastic time reading this book - plenty of funny situations, some witty humor, and an interesting mystery waiting to be solved. And the characters! Well, I admit Callie might've annoyed me just a tiny bit in this one, but I still like her and the others are fantastic!
Yet again I have to write a word about the chapter titles - even these fit into the stories. I loved the ones from the first book - the cute quotes about sweets, etc. The new ones create a kind of a recipe - a step by step instructions to create and solve a great cozy mystery. Love it!
At the beginning of the book I wondered what new characters will we meet, since the other books always have a different main character solving the mystery. For now, we only had Callie and Anna [I'm not counting Ben, he was kind of a plus-one], so I was quite happy to see another member of their little group - Kristie. I can't wait to read about her adventuring into the danger zone. And she does have a danger zone to go into working in a place like that.
I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.
I am not ashamed to admit I have a girl crush on Anna, our pink-haired pixie cupcake baker. It started with Never Trust a Skinny Cupcake Baker and it has fully blossomed after reading Bring Your Own Baker. She’s feisty and funny, and I really need to start adopting her “curse” words as my own.
Anna gets herself mixed up with murder, mystery, and mayhem after discovering the body of her friend Arthur. Next thing you know she, Callie, and bakery worker Kristie, are on the hunt for the murderer…because once again Detectives Dumb and Dumber are on the job, and we’ve seen how capable those 2 are! Throw in Callie’s own sweet detective Ben and one sexy undercover cop out to protect Anna, and you’ve got all the makings for a delightful and charming read.
Murder isn’t funny business, but in the hands of Anna, Callie, and Kristie, the solving of a murder sure is! I loved the antics these 3 got into, the unlikely of predicaments they found themselves in. I want these gals to be my friends! With a little bit of luck on their side, as well as those 2 hunky men to lend a hand, they work to uncover clues and discover who killed Arthur.
I’ve so enjoyed the first 2 books in the series, and I’m looking forward to seeing what more D.E. Haggerty has in store for Callie and the gang!

This is the second book In the Death by Cupcake Series. I really loved the first book and enjoyed Anna’s in it so could not wait to read her book.
It starts off good and I love her character. The problem I had with this book is I didn’t’ feel the connection between her and Logan. I loved the banter back and forth between the two; it is just the relationship felt a little two rushed. Anna’s character for the most part was a character you could relate to. She has issues regarding her body and didn’t’ feel she was beautiful and certainly didn’t buy it when it came out of Logan’s mouth. The banter and chemistry between Anna and Callie was great. The humor was just as good if not better in this book than the first book. The ending felt a little two rushed. I would of liked to have seen how it turned out to have a little more detail.
“Sweet sugar cookies! She thinks I’m a murderer! Yeah, we weren’t close but to just assume I’m a killer? What a fudging traitor! I crumple the piece of paper in my hand and throw it on her floor.”
"Did you just throw a Pillsbury dough boy at me? His voice carries a hint of humor. The Pillsbury dough boy was probably not the best item to grab from the kitchen to use as a weapon.”
The book was full of some great banter and one-liners and kept me hooked and as much as I liked it, I didn’t’ love it. I wanted a little bit more. The flow of the story was good and I like the authors writing style I would of liked the ending to have been a little longer. I have some questions I need answers to so I am hoping the author has another book in the works for Anna.
In Bring Your Own Baker, the second book in the Death By Cupcake Series, author D.E. Haggerty weaves a delightful cozy mystery that follows the amateur investigative adventures of baker Anna Moore.
Anna is a sassy little pixie with spiky pink hair, who works as a baker at her best friend Callie's bakery, Callie's Cakes. She has been working on the side doing finance and invoicing for her friend Arthur, a genius computer programmer / hacker, in order to get enough money together to buy into fifty percent of the bakery. When Anna goes to Arthur's apartment, she finds his door ajar and he is lying on the floor dead with his face covered in blood. Anna is determined to find Arthur's killer, so with the help of Callie, Ben (Callie's detective boyfriend), co-worker Kristie, and a hot undercover cop named Logan, Anna embarks on a murder investigation adventure to find the real killer.
Bring Your Own Baker is a thoroughly entertaining cozy mystery that will keep the reader in stitches. Written in the first person narrative, the reader follows the humorous trials and tribulations of Anna and friends latest amateur investigative adventures.
This was such a fun book to read! The reader can't help but get drawn into the quirky trials and tribulations and intriguing suspense that Anna and friends encounter during the murder investigation. I really enjoyed Anna's sassy humor and wit, she makes following her madcap adventure so much fun, and when you add in some romance with the hot undercover cop Logan into the mix, you get a delightful cozy mystery that will leave you wanting more!
I would be remiss if I didn't mention that I really loved how the author used very clever and intriguing step-by-step recipe ingredients to solving a mystery quotes at the beginning of each chapter.
Cozy mystery fans, I would highly recommend that you read the entertaining Death By Cupcake Series, you won't regret it!
Disclaimer: I received a copy of the book from the author in exchange for my honest review and participation in a virtual book blast event hosted by Great Escapes Virtual Book Tours.
In this second book in the series, we see the return of all our favorite characters from Never Trust a Skinny Cupcake Baker: Callie and Ben, Detectives Duchamps and Smits, lawyer Fred Advocaat, and baker Anna. Anna has an accounting degree and has been doing some bookkeeping work for computer whiz Arthur. But when Anna finds Arthur dead, she becomes the number one suspect. Sick of police incompetency, Anna teams up with Callie to solve Arthur's murder. Turns out he had some pretty shady clients, all of who become suspects. So Anna and Callie encounter gang members, bookies, illegal poker games, prostitutes, and pimps, but they get a bit of help from an unexpected source. We also get a good introduction to Kristie, who works at the bakery; I have a feeling we might see a bit more of her in the next book.
Narrated in the first person by Anna, the story is sprinkled with cute similes - usually bakery related - as well as candy-coated expletives (e.g., "Sweet sugar cookies!"). Even the chapter names read like the steps in a recipe! My favorite quote: "Having friends you can trust and lean on is ever better than being able to eat cupcakes without gaining weight."
Dena, your mission is complete - I didn't see that ending coming. The story is followed by a recipe for Mocha Fudge Cake with Coffee Icing. I look forward to reading the next in this sweet series.
I received this book in return for an honest review.
When Anna finds her friend, Arthur murdered she's determined to find out who killed him. Not only was he her friend but also her employer. She had been doing some part-time financial work for him in his business as a hacker - a very good hacker. Since she is found with the dead man she's the prime suspect.
Anna and Callie, the owner of the bakery where Anna works, investigate various suspects including biker gangs. Kristie works there too and helps the women look for the killer.
I loved this cozy mystery! It's a well-written book filled with lots of laughs and love. Even looking for a murderer was funny when these ladies get involved in the investigation. The main characters in this novel are absolutely priceless. They definitely drive the story. They were easy to get to know and easy to connect with. Their boyfriends sure help the story along. The fact that they are both big and handsome doesn't hurt either.
This is a great series and I'm glad I received a copy of Bring Your Own Baker in exchange for an honest review.
This was a captivating, entertaining novel that was a joy to read. It is definitely one that should make its way into the libraries of all cozy mystery lovers.
A fun cozy mystery. This one centers on Anna, the pixie baker for Callie with the pink hair. On the side and under the table she is working for her friend Arthur, who is a hacker. Her goal is to earn money to buy an interest in the bakery.
Imagine her surprise when she goes to work one day and finds Arthur murdered. Then later when a scraggy, sexy bearded man breaks into her apartment and says he will protect her.
Another light, fun, funny mystery that I really enjoyed from D.E. Haggerty. I really enjoy her mysteries, and the humor she infuses into them. They are the perfect books to be read in an afternoon by the pool, on the beach, or on a rainy day. The characters are quick witted and that is what I enjoy - good one liners in the appropriate situation.
My only complaint about this one is that I wish that we had learned just a bit more about our hero in this story. There's more to him than what we get, and I would like to know more.
Awesome! Our bakery owner's feisty friend is the star of this one. Wanting to earn enough to buy into the bakery, she has been moonlighting. However when she finds her "employer" and college friend stabbed to death she resolves to get to the bottom of this. Mix in gangs, the world of pimps, undercover agents and ties to the police and you have an explosive read. Terrific characters that interim beautifully and great descriptive work make this a beatully crafted novel.
Not quite the book I was anticipating so this review is difficult to write. I cheered for Anna in book 1. While I’m still in her corner, she had me rolling my eyes far too many times. Anna seemed a bit watered down to me…not as fiery and spunky. To be fair, finding a bloody, dead body can wreak havoc on anyone’s psyche. If it’s someone you actually knew – call the guys in white coats. Which she’ll probably need anyway, because other than explaining how she happened to find Arthur’s body to Dumb and Dumber, she never truly talked about it…to anyone. Yet, her many recollections of ‘All. That. Blood.’, coupled with the fact that she blacked out clearly indicates she was traumatized.
It seems as though Anna and Callie did a role reversal. Now Callie was the investigator instigator ready to rush out and follow up on leads, only she wasn’t as good at it as Anna, and not nearly as funny. (Okay, I focus on humor…sue me!) Still puzzled by Kristie. Half the time she seemed afraid of her own shadow, and the other half, she just seemed…bored.
Ben was adorable, as always. Logan was extremely likable, if a bit too ‘handsy’ right after meeting Anna. Kind of felt bad for Logan when the few times we did see flashes of ‘badass’ Anna, it was usually directed at him. The whole “I Am Woman, Hear Me Roar” routine didn’t work for me when all Logan had to do was kiss Anna…or speak…or breathe, and she was putty in his hands. *Glaring at typical Romance Heroine Behavior*
But the two things I truly didn’t connect with were:
1) Anna’s determination to ‘get justice for Arthur.’ Yes, Anna and Arthur were ‘friends’ from college and he did help her get through a ComPro class; and yes, he did also assist with Callie’s situation; and yes, Anna was even his part-time accountant, but I just never felt there a strong, go-to-the-ends-of the-earth-for-you, ride-or-die type of bond between the two of them. When Callie was in trouble, of course Anna was front and center…they’re not just besties, but as close as sisters. Anna and Arthur didn’t FEEL like anything more than casual acquaintances.
and,
2) This was a SERIOUSLY dangerous ‘investigation.’ Granted, an unsolved murder means a killer is walking around free, but I physically cringed every time the female sleuths set off to follow up on a lead. They were entering a world where murder was a daily solution to a problem. These are smart women who took too lightly the danger they were dealing with. Not smart. At times, it felt like a game to them. Then at others, it felt as though they’re doing it simply because the MEN had TOLD them not to. And after telling them to stay away from the case, Logan allows Anna to don her disguise and takes her to a card party for leads. Really?
I still like these characters and the way they flow together. You can feel they truly care about each other. The good-natured, light, sometimes sarcastic banter doesn’t usually miss the mark. Personally, the bakery-inspired euphemisms and constant references to all things pink and pixie were beginning to make me weary. But Logan’s nickname for Anna was a cute addition.
I do recommend “Bring Your Own Baker.” FOR ME, it’s not as strong as book one, but I am still #TeamAnna!
Enjoy!
I received an ARC-copy of “Bring Your Own Baker” as part of a blog tour promotion in exchange for an honest review.
Another delectable treat from DE Haggerty. We met Anna in Never Trust a Skinny Baker and now it's her turn to take center stage. Baker by day, accountant by night; Anna has been trying to make some extra money doing the books for an old friend, Arthur. When she finds him murdered and realizes the police are about to muck up another case, she sets out to find justice for Arthur. Sassy, spirited, and driven Anna enlists the help of her bestie Callie and their friend Kristie. With help from the mysterious, possibly dangerous, and most definitely sexy, Logan, and a bunch of over the top disguises, Anna and the girls try to figure out what Arthur was up to and who he was involved with. Haggerty writes some of my favorite female characters, Anna is no exception. She is absolutely adorable and her bravery and tenacity only add to her charm. It's impossible not to be enthralled by the mystery and fast paced storyline. Witty dialogue and hilarious situations help drive the story and create levity. Add in Anna and Logan's intense attraction and I couldn't put this book down. Haggerty mixes all the right ingredients for another must read cozy. I'm loving this series and can't wait for more!
Bring Your Own Baker by D. E. Haggerty is the 2nd book in the Death by Chocolate Series, and it was great. Anna the pink-haired pixie is moonlighting using her accounting degree to earn money to buy into her best friend Callie's bakery. Anna loves baking at Callie's Cakes. When Anna arrives at work she finds her boss and friend murdered. Anna and Callie decide to solve the murder with help from two surprising resources.
This book has more twists and turns, that kept me reading page after page. I love the quirky people and situations in this book, and a fun romance. I found this book to be a quick read, with a well developed plot and characters. I am looking forward to reading the next and first book in the series. If you love cozy mysteries, I strongly recommend this book.
I received this book in exchange for a fair and honest review.
***THIS BOOK WAS PROVIDED TO NERD GIRL IN EXCHANGE FOR AN HONEST REVIEW***
D.E. Haggerty's Bring Your Own Baker is the second entry in her Death by Chocolate Series, and has the resident pink-haired pixie baker falling in with a tattooed tough guy.
Several crazy disguises, along with a few timely rescues from the very large tattooed gang member (aka Logan the hottie) and Anna and her girlfriends figure out the mystery.
This pixie absolutely loves the pink haired pixie! This story is fun and fast moving, and a definate must read!

This book brings us back to Callie's Cakes and this time Anna Callie's baker is in trouble after finding her friend Arthur killed and Anna at the scene of the crime. Now it's up to Anna to find out what really happened? This book goes down so many dark paths between rival gangs, pimps and bookies oh my what Anna learns really puts a spin on Arthur and how much Anna really knew about him!
This book was everything you expect when reading Callie's Cakes love and mystery and adventure! I love seeing what the girls are up to in this book and the lengths the guys in this book will go to to protect their women. Such a pleasure of a read. Definitely not your Grandma's cozy mystery!
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
A different type of cozy mystery, Bring Your Own Baker will make you laugh. Filled with the makings of a true crime plot, this book will keep you guessing until the end. While this isn't the cozy mystery I usually enjoy, it was a interesting to read this particular story.
Fans of the more niity gritty cozy mystery will be in for a thrill when they read this book. I voluntarily read an ARC of this book provided by the publisher via NetGalley.
This is the second book I have read by D.E. Haggerty and really enjoyed it. Anna and the rest of the girls are out to solve another murder and in the process had me smiling all along. I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review
This was just as fun and entertaining as the first one. I love the quirkiness of DE Haggerty’s books. they just are beach reads. fun no needing to see a hidden meaning but just sit back relax and enjoy books.
Here we have the same cast of characters from the first book back but now it is Anna in trouble. She is working on the side for Arthur so she can buy into the bakery and one night she gets there and Arthur is dead. Suddenly she is thrust into being a suspect and a gang issue.
Anna is the fun pixie looking baker who is sweet and smart. I love her responses when Callie and Kristie have her become a lady of the night, when they are in the hotel closet and see what Fat daddy is up to. her reaction to Logan and his intensity was awesome. Ben and Callie are cute together and how Ben helps them is so sweet. He is the most adorable guy. Just loyal, kind and sweet. Logan is intense but he is fiercely loyal and protective of Anna. Watching him fall for her and help her even when he didn’t think he was was awesome.
the book is the story of Anna solving who killed her friend arthur and falling in love at the same time. She is up to some wild hijinks and crazy antics. The light heartedness is sweet and alluring and the story entertaining and fun. I look forward to the next in this fun crazy riding story that keeps you smiling and laughing with the antics and cheering Anna on with the journey of her with Logan.
Anna is 5 foot nothing of pink haired, energetic baking genius, she is also a qualified accountant so when a friend of hers asks her for help with the possibility of some under the table payment she jumps at the chance, she is trying to save up enough money to buy a stake in Callie's Cakes and this seems too good to be true! Unfortunately after 2 months too good to be true turns out to be correct as she arrives at Arthur's apartment only to find him well and truly dead! As if that wasn't bad enough a biker gang member keeps breaking into HER apartment (and she finds herself strangely attracted to him), now Anna, Callie and their friend and barista Kristie are trying to track down who killed Arthur ... of without tipping off Callie's boyfriend Detective Ben and the Biker (or is he?) Logan as to what they are up to, oh and at some point baking needs to happen!
I really liked book 1 in the series, where Anna (the pink haired pixie that stars in this one) sets out to help her friend Callie to clear her name after being arrested for a murder she obviously did not commit. I still adore Anna and I enjoyed reading some more about Callie and her detective boyfriend Ben. However, the character of Anna seems to have changed as it is now Callie who is eager to investigate after Anna finds one of her friends dead.
Anna meets undercover agent Logan and both women are warned by Logan and Ben to stay out of the investigation. Ofcourse they do not listen... I enjoyed and finished the story, but I did think the ideas the ladies thought of to 'investigate' were a bit OTT. Plus what was the reason, as the deceased man was not really a friend of Anna.
I liked the first book in the series, but this was awful. I felt it was all very unrealistic, unbelievable, and did not have enough drama to warrant half of the reactions in the book. The ending was OK, but the repetitive comments about all that blood. It was ridiculous. I like the Logan‘s character I thought he was awesome, and made the book a little bit redeemable. But overall, this book could be a miss for me in the series.
Anna is a frosty baker who finds herself in trouble when her friend is murdered
Anna goes to meet her friend at home when she finds him covered in blood and not breathing. When she's brought to the police station they try to pin it on her but Ben comes to the rescue. Anna is now determined to find out who killed him and fast, but a hot undercover officer is determined to help her whether she wants him to or not
I like that the women take turns being the main character in the series, but this book isn't as good as the first. This time Anna is suspected of murder by the same boneheaded detectives and ends up with her own yummy cop. Anna's and Callie's "Lucy/Ethel" vibe is still in place, and the murder feels secondary to their madcap adventures. This reads like a reworking of the first book with less humor. Kristie is becoming intriguing, however...
With characters you care about and a murdered victim that you want to find justice for, you want to read this quickly until the very last word. However, that is difficult to do because you are laughing frequently and hard. I especially liked the subtitles for each chapter that used baking/cooking expressions. Well done. 😃
Just came off.a long stint of reading apocalypse books. This was just what I needed something entertaining and funny but also kept my attention. I sorry you do not consider the U.S.A home. But holy cupcake, you can write! Sandy
I loved this book as much, if not more, than the first one. Anna is so adorable, and the fact that Logan calls her his "pixie girl" just makes me melt! She's the baker, and wants to buy in as partner, so she's moonlighting, doing accounting for a friend. But before she has enough money, she finds him murdered. Again, the girls investigate, in spite of make discouragement. This was a lot of fun and I can't wait to read Kristie's story next.
