I’ll also break free from the shark infested waters littered with those that seek to restrain me, to keep me in line—my ex, my father, my mother, my sister.

Josie's Review 4.5 STARS

Battler was unique and a bit of a gritty read. This book surrounds itself on rich, privileged and unsupervised young adults with clearly too much time on their hands. For a first time author the writing style was very well developed and it flowed fluently throughout the story. The characters albeit different were very well defined. I’m still not sure how I would describe what the game these kids played was, but it will leave you entertained and fully immersed into this st

So …how do I start with this review...

Battler by C.L. Masonite does not even have a Blurb yet on GR and no Ratings or Reviews – so whatever I write here will weight double ( at least I feel that way ) and if I add that to the fact that it seems to be the authors debut novel I feel kind of a heavy burden on my shoulders I can honestly say that this is a unique novel in many ways.

I am not sure how much to say on the plot to not spoiler as I have no Idea yet what the Blurb might say later so I am k

For years Riletta has been a loner, hated by her family, no friends, with only her little brother who she loved and he loved her back; she would do anything for him, even try and get close to the Wolfe brothers so she can stay out of trouble and stay in her brothers life. But Drasko and Trent are not like normal guys; they have a fierce loyalty, and don’t let anyone get close but Riletta is up for the challenge and she might just be strong enough, cocky enough and so un-effected by the brothers ...more

Riletta Kasonite is a fighter, made so through having to suffer every day of her life. Only her young brother keeps her strong enough to keep up the fight no matter how tough things get. Trying to make it through her final year in school, Riletta finds herself being played by too many people, from her ex to strangers who barged into her life. Just when she thin ...more

Riletta Kasonite has been shown nothing but hatred from her family for as long as she can remember, so she's learned the hard way to not let anyone close to her. Even though her walls are Ft. Knox, she has been in somewhat of a relationship for bit, but when she catches him cheating on her, she just snaps, and finds herself arrested. Her family gets her out, and brings her home for a reason that she can't figure out, but she takes their deal for her little brother's sake. There's also another co ...more

When I read Battler's blurb, I knew I had to read the book and it didn't disappoint.

Riletta Kasonite is a loner. She has no friends and her family hates her. The only light in her life is her little brother. But in order for her to see and be with her brother, she has to comply to her parents rules.
After one mistake and under the threat of being cut off from her brother's life, Riletta has to become close to Drasko Wolfe.

Battler is a great book with a captivating story. It's full of

Intrigued, secrets, betrayal and passion are all emotions to be found in this book. Teen angst and all the dramas that go along with it are not really my style, but C.L Masonite had me continue reading her story through the way in which she writes her characters and her plotlines.

The author, who is making her debut, has written well for her first novel. However, there were times when I thought that it jumped around, with a bit of fine tunin

This is a truly difficult story to review for me because while I didn’t love the story I didn’t hate it either. One of the main reason I could mot dislike this story is because the author obviously wrote this story with so much passion. Drasko and Riletta story is a story filled with deceit, passion, corruption, and drama. There was never any moment in the story I thought that nothing was going to happen. Both of these characters’ life might seem easy but no

For some unknown reason, Riletta's parents didn't want her, so when she was born, they sent her away. Years later, she returns, and she wants answers. Why was she sent away in the first place? Why have they brought her back now after all this time has passed? I felt bad for Riletta, The only person in the world that genuinely loved her was her younger brother, Aiden. She is c

I will start by saying if you want a book full of drama, angst, deception, corruption and chaoss then this will fit the bill. The characters are so young to be so old. They have experienced more than the average adult. Both Drasko and Riletta re from wealthy families. On the outside they have everything. Looking deeper, they have a lot in common. They belong to manipulative, abusive and just plain crazy families. There is a lot goi

I. loved. This. Book. !!!!!

This book took me by complete surprised me. I loved the setup. When I first started reading the book, I thought "oh boy, typical rich depressed girl story line". Nope, boy was I wrong. If you're a fan of the Kade brothers from author Tijan, than you'll love this story. It had the alpha brother dynamic thing going on that I absolutely adored. I'm a person that no matter the best author I can always see the surprise plot coming. I will admit a few times I guesse

Wow, that book was amazing from beginning to end. Riletta is the black sheep of her family. Her family isn't very nice to her except for her little brother. Her little brother show her what love is. I loved that. She is a tough and a no holds barred to type person. You get what you get with her.
Drasko and Trent are brothers. At first I thought they may be a little too cocky and too full of themselves but I really grew to love them. Drasko is an alpha male that always get wants he wants. I liked

I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. This book was very well written, and held my attention. My problem with the book is that it seems unrealistic that these are actually teenagers in high school. The way that they speak and act seems much, much older. I could maybe picture adult scholars speaking in this way, but that's a maybe. The main character was likable for me and fun to read about. The book ends on a huge cliffhanger which I was not thrilled about, but it may ...more

I was given a free copy for an honest review, Lots of confrontations, and action packed situation. It kind of reminded me of the new show Animal Kingdom in TNT, These "Young Adult" are still with their parents, but they don't parent very well and are kind of let to roam and do as they please. Put into more "Adult" situations and scenarios then a older teen should be. The writing style flowed and you got involved in these overwhelming situations, and route for them to come out ok.

Ive read 33% of this book, unfortunately it's not pulling me in. Lots of very strong characthers, all seem to be battling each other in one way or another. The Drasko brothers are pushy, thinking Rileta was there's to take.

I may carry on another day but for now its DNF.

This book kept me up all night! I really couldn't put it down. I loved Riletta and the chemistry between her and Dras was off the charts. I gave a literal gulp at the end from the big twist so I just had to pick up book number two. I can't wait for more books from this author!

This book is C.L Masonite's first book but hopefully not the last. I really liked the synopsis and was excited to read it. It’s a sport romance book, and the story was a little different from what I was expecting, to be honest. The heroine, Riletta Kasonite is a badass, trouble-maker kind of girl, lives with her parents. Her parents aren’t very loving to her. They make sure Riletta knows that she isn’t wanted. The only reason she stays there is for her little brother, Aidan. Rilet

I received a copy of C.L. Masonite's "Battler" for my honest review for Fallen For Books Reviewers

What happens when two extremely broken and emotionally shut down but terribly beautiful people are forced (by fate or others) to meet? Will they heal each other or drive each other insane? This is the question C.L. Masonite raises in her first book, 'Battler.'

The book is written from Riletta Kasonite’s point of view. In fact, it’s written as a kind of stream of consciousness as if you can hear Rile

Wow! That is the first thing that I have to say about Battler. This book blew me away and left me wanting more.

Riletta Kasonite started the book off with a bang and set the tone for her character. She definitely filled the "firecracker" moniker she was given in this book. A virtual outcast in her own family, she dug deep to survive and survive she did. Despite all that was thrown at her, she is a fighter. What in the world did I just read?? How? What? Wait a minute....
This is a book where you will want the 2nd readily available.

Riletta grew up in a home where she was invisible, well when it came to certain things. Her mother couldn't stand her, her sister talked down to her, her father well he gave up yrs ago. Her younger brother is the on my one to show her love.

The setting is high school so we all know how that goes. Girls hating on each other because of boys. Enter the twins. No girl

WARNING: Contains MATURE situations despite falling under YA age range. Subject matter is graphic

The mystery pushes the plot forward, maybe even more than the INSANE chemistry. Why Riletta has such weird eyes, why her parents verbally abuse her and treat her like less than nothing, what the deal with the Wolfe brothers is, and the animosity between the Wolfes and the bar owners. All of these questions and more will plague you and taunt you to the point where you’ll feel compelled to read just to

Battler is a book that is filled with kids who have rich families as well as being unsupervised young adults with a lot of time on their hands.

I loved the way this book flowed and how the characters were well developed. This is as especially good efforts from a debut author.

Congrats on creating such a great story

DNF. Stopped at chapter 3.

It was a struggle just to read two chapters of the book. The personality of the female main character is downright pathetic. For a 20 year old she is like a 13 year old obsessed with Justin Bieber - HORRIBLE.
