Mills & Boon Intrigue series brings you stories filled with secrets & seduction...HER HUSBAND

After a suspicious fire claimed the life of her father and nearly that of rescuer Ben Wells, Morgan Winters engaged in a marriage of convenience with Ben for protection and vengeance. Swathed in bandages and wheelchair-bound, Ben enlisted a trusted investigator to expose a murder plot and to watch over his in-name-only wife.

HER BODYGUARD

"Josh" insisted on midnight meetings, disguises, anonymity. His evasiveness concealed his identity as surely as Ben's bandages covered his wounded face and body. But to prove the murderer's guilt, she had to believe in her husband's confidant a mystery man who stirred Morgan's suspicions as well as her senses.

CHARLOTTE DOUGLAS has loved a good story since she learned to read at the age of three. After years of teaching that love of books to her students, she now enjoys creating stories of her own. Often her books are set in one of her three favorite places—Montana, where she and her husband spent their honeymoon; the mountains of North Carolina, where she has a summer home; or Florida, near the Gulf of Mexico on Florida’s west coast, where she’s lived most of her life.

This was an okay mystery. This is an older Intrigue that came my way in a box of older Harlequin's from Mom's basement. As I love hidden or mistaken identity stories, I thought this might be a nice read. I enjoyed this story, the plot of the evil business partner and the mysterious protector worked well. The characters were okay but somehow what should have been intensely emotional scenes came across rather tame. I like my heart rate to pump up when I read a mystery thriller, and the various murder attempts in this one would lead one to think this was a thriller. A lovely story that was just okay.
