***A Stand-alone, sexy romantic comedy with heart. No cliffhangers. ***

Lieutenant Joe Murphy is a hero. He’s also 6’4” of gorgeous—an alpha of masculine strength and prowess … the kind of man that gives me dirty thoughts as I lie awake at night.

His sexy, protective nature and his tenderness has set me on fire. Screw the no fraternizing policy. Every time he gives me that

“Sometimes we have to be our own hero, Joe.”

Burn was our first Ruth Clampett experience and we think we’ve fallen in love with this authors writing style. Although this story deals with some pretty hard hitting issues, the author chose to tell her story in more of a light hearted way, interspersing the heavy, painful moments with witty banter and internal dialogue as told through the eyes of a gutsy heroine who’s found success in what is still quite essentially a male dominated area, and she’s

Oh my gawd...Burn is a must read this year for everyone!!!

This is a story that had romance, a smidgen of hurt my heart, a touch of angst, sprinkles of crack me up humor, a dab of some serious trepidation, all wrapped up in a tell me a story kind of story.

I was totally girl crushing on Trisha. She was independent, assertive, aggressive, sarcastic, a very in your face kind of girl. Loved her!!

And Joe, a serious book boyfriend. Swoony, kind, strong, alpha, and just larger than life!

Burn is a fresh and intelligently written romance between two firefighters who are trying to heal the burns left behind after divorce. It’s witty and smart and deals really well with the new realities faced by divorced couples in the modern age.

Trisha is a strong and outspoken woman who is the lone female firefighter in her squad. She’s also a bit of a ball-breaker and doesn’t mince words, which leads her co-workers to nickname her T-Rex for being so fierce. Her life is turned upside down when s

This is hard for me to DNF a book, especially when one of my bestie GR friends really liked it. I had a hard time connecting with either M/C and I just lost interest in the story. It just wasn't my cuppa.

It's so nice when we finish a book with that feeling, ya know. That it was worth it. That we wanted more of that, because it was so good. That that time “lost” there, sitting or lying in bed, reading was well spent.

BURN is the second book in the UNTAMED series, however can be read as a standalone. I actually haven’t read the first book yet, WET, wh

BURN is a smartly crafted book with characters so real you'll swear you know people just like Joe and Trisha. Two souls who both know all about being burned--yet able to be refreshingly honest in sharing their feelings with each other. I thoroughly enjoyed this beautiful--and smoking hot--love story from cover to cover.

Sometimes you just find a book that are pleasant surprises. There were many things I enjoyed about this book the friends to lovers aspect, capable heroine who is a firefighter and second chances. Right from that opening scene I was hooked and I wanted to know what would happen next.

Being a woman firefighter has to be struggle in a world dominated by guys. I'm basing this on watching Chicago Fire and other things is just a fraction of the reality. Obviously the real world rules aren't t

Burn was such a good read!

Loved both Trisha and Joe, their story was sweet, fun, emotional and very heartfelt.
Trisha ranks as one of my fav heroines, loved her sass, her humor, her sarcasm, her honesty and her huge heart.
Burn was one of those books once you started reading you couldn't put down.
My interest was captured from the first page, I was laughing out loud and thinking I'd love to have Trisha as my BFF, she was awesome!

Clampett’s BURN is a first-rate romance featuring a heroine who is a REAL woman’s woman .

After discovering her husband “in flagrante delicto” with another man, Los Angeles firefighter Trisha McNeill struggles to move on from the devastation of her broken marriage. As the snarky, fiercely independent Trisha works through her emotional trauma, she learns to accept the support and kindness of her close-knit Irish family, as well as from her fire lieutenant Joe Murphy, a man fighting demons of his

Burn
Burn by Ruth Clampett was a fun and exciting read which is the second installment to Wet. The story was immediately intriguing from the beginning and had me wide eyed one minute and laughing out loud the next. The characters, especially Trisha (T-Rex) are hilarious and tender hearted even though she is perceived by her fellow Firefighters to be tough as nails and impenetrable. She wants to be loved just like everyone else but her husband had a different agenda. As a firefighter Trish was tou

I just want to thank Ruth Clampett for another wonderful read. In Burn we get to know Paul's snarky sister Trisha. From the first line her world is turned upside down and falling apart. She is a tough cookie that earns her the Nick name T-Rex From her coworkers at the station, but its not meant as a compliment. Through all the Drama she notices her coworker Lieutenant Joe Murphy, he is hot, sexy and Irish. I don't want to give anything away, you will just have to read this amazing story to find ...more

Burn .... What can I say? Ruth writes with wit, humor, and love. There is snarky Trisha, whom we first met in Ruth's book "Wet", the only woman firefighter in the station. The "guys" think she's tough, a man eater even nick named her T-Rex. Her first marriage was broken by a "Sasquatch". Then there is the smoken' hot firefighter Joe, he comes to the party with his own broken marriage under similar circumstances. When the two get together the pages sizzle. An awesome story of love, hate, empathy, ...more

It was okay. I'm not sure I liked the main characters much, but it was an easy read.

Tricia was just not likable. And Joe... He was dreamy at first, but he showed his inner jerk right when Tricia needed him most.

The ending was weird. One chapter felt like we were being told the details as an afterthought. Actually, the whole ending was a bit out of place which made it feel forced and unrealistic.

The saving grace for the novel was Tricia's family. They were a delight to see in action.

I loved BURN! I reminded me of Ms. Clampett's first book Mr. 365, fun, fresh, and page turning. While it's book 2 (WET is book 1) you can read it as a stand alone and not be lost. The main characters of BURN, Joe and Trish are classically wonderful. Just when the reader gets into a grove of happiness for them something new happens to stir up the pot. Ms. Clampett's storytelling abilities prove as strong as ever for her 7th book, BURN. I would consider BURN to be the perfect summer read, on or of ...more

I always love Ruth's work. This book is no exception. Her characters are real and flawed, but likeable and unique. This book was fun and had soul and depth. Loved it.

I didn't particularly like this book. Even though I read the whole of the book, I could have quite easily and happily have stopped part way into the story. It just didn't hold my interest and I got bored. To be honest, after reading this book I probably wouldn't pick up another of this author's works. I don't think the style of writing was for me.

The guys at the station house don’t call Tricia “T-Rex” for nothing. She’s as strong as the nickname implies. But finding her husband in flagrante with one of his employees is enough to make even her stumble.

Tricia may be down, but she’s far from out. She’s at the top of her game as a firefighter in Los Angeles and she’s determined to not allow the chaos of her personal life to affect that. And then she falls for Joe…

I want to drink all the attention in until I’m drunk with it. He better stop wi

4.5 stars. Trisha McNeill is the only female firefighter on her squad. She was introduced in Wet as Paul's sister. She's mouthy, direct and fierce. Going into this book, I had reservations as to whether or not I could like Trisha because she's a lot to handle and I needed to see some vulnerability in her. Well, Burn didn't disappoint in that regard because I wound up loving Trisha. She's feisty, compassionate and a bada$$. Even her male coworkers are a bit fearful of her.

I've always loved firefighter stories. Hot sexy firefighter saves the damsel in distress. Well, "Burn" surprised me. It definitely wasn't what I was expecting. Joe and Tricia work at the same station, which creates its own set of complications. Not to mention their own personal "challenges."

I had a bit of a difficult time warming up to Trish (or T-Rex as the guys at the station call her). She's brusk and a bit abrasive. Of course, considering what she's been through, it's kind of understandable.

Wow! I truly loved this book. The first couple of pages made me laugh so hard, even as my heart broke for Tricia; the last few pages made my heart race and I couldn’t read fast enough! In between is a warm, sexy story filled with the highs and lows of life and love, pain and joy. I was rooting for both Tricia and Joe as they learned each other’s story, felt for them in their insecurities and cheered as they became stronger as individuals and t

This story touches my heart in a profound way. The life of a firefighter is hard as is the lives of their loved ones. I know first hand what it's like to have my husband go out on a fire and have the deputy fire chief come to my door in the middle of the night.
Burn is amazingly written and incredibly well researched. It is a story of a woman who's life in transition. The life she had is no more and she is struggling to find her way through a male dominated work place. The only woman in a fireho

I received an ARC from the author who asked that I give it an honest review. This book came by at the right time. I found myself in a slump, reading book after book of weak heroines that helplessly sat by crying while these guys run them through the mill and when they return it's happily ever after. I wanted to read a book about a girl who was bad ass, who wasn't about to sit around crying over anyone, who had a backbone, and Ruth Clampett delivered! Burn has recurring characters from Ruth's book, Wet, so if you've met Paul and Elle, you'll get to see them again. If you have not read Wet, don't worry you can absolutely read Burn in its own.

In Burn we get to know Paul's sister Trisha, AKA T-Rex, a lot better when her marriage falls apart. It's a tough time for her, but the burn (pun intended) can be healed by her Lieutenant from the fire house, Joe. A weird and tiny problem bring them together as friends and it soon develops into more. Add i
