EDIT:2019/02 I'm sorry if I come off as a total bitch in these 'edits' but I just don't find the appeal in this stretched out manhua. If you like it, good for you ╮(￣▽￣)╭

Read up to chapter 35
Skimmed the rest. I've read till ch. 360 and truly nothing has pissed me off whole my life as this Manga!
Status: On-going Unfortunately this piece of shit is still onging and gets translated.
Genres: Romance, Shoujo, Smut Trigger warning; rape, weak heroine, asshole male lead, hard-core bullying.
What I like: The Art. Kinda.
What I don't like: Everything else. Once again a toxic relationship is a described as love and the heroine acts like retarded even though she is supposed to be 'oh so damn clever'.
EDIT:// Oh well where to start.
The plot is just SICKENING, the characters are fucked up (especially the main guy), don't even get me started on the MC, you're supposed to relate and connect with the main character when reading, that way you can put yourself in their position but everything she does is just so...IRRITATING the rival is even worse! Not to mention the repetitive plot and cliche scenes, the manhua has some attractions like the overbearing and complicated plot filled with drama found in soap operas. But I'm just surprised as to why this is so popular when other amazing Manhuas are barely recognized.
The Story: Heroine is a retarded human being. After her boyfriend cheats on her, she decides to get revenge and goes to a 'host club' to have some fun. Gets drunk, mistakes the most well-known Mafia boss, the insidious Underworld Emperor as a host. The guy goes; you are a sexy little thing, I'm gonna punish you for seduction, what the hell, let's sleep together. When the girl is just about to be raped, (Like, this is legit rapey and even though the art is really pretty, it's kind of upsetting.) the boss stops because of a familiar scar he saw on the girl's shoulder.
After two years, she decides to work as an elevator lady in one of the biggest companies in China. But then she realizes the company is owned by her big bad wolf mafia boss who tried to have his way with her 2 years ago and the real story starts there. Harassments, a retarded fake-romance/mistress contract and girl acting retarded every page.
However, I'm sure there's more to this story in the further chapters 'cause I'm sure that he won't try to have sex with her everytime just because of a scar or because how she looks at him and there's gotta be some epic story behind that scar...like "that's the scar of the girl who helped me on that stormy night" or something like that.

First, she "dates" a man who doesn't respect her, beats her, doesn't trust her and a total psycho. He raped her a hundred of times already but still, she forgave him thinking " oh I should become a better mistress " or " I think I love him, he is such a mysterious but carrying guy ! " and my favorite one "I think I still have feelings for Feng, but why ?".

And Aotian obsession for purity/virginity is ridiculous (I hate that kind of guys the MOST). He slept with a countless number of women but always quick to "check if she is still a virgin" and the worst part is she agreed with that! And they said she is +200 IQ ? What blasphemy! She is god damn slow and you're saying me she's brilliant? REALLY? REALLY? I forget she is supposed to be a genius 90% of the time. the other 10% is when she has to use her brains for a deus ex machina moment.

Plus, how come every man in this manhwa fell for her? Or wants to rape her? What the hell is up with that?!
Verdict: Not worth your time. Just read something else.Will tell you guys if it gets any better. EDIT: It DOES NOT GET BETTER. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE AT ANY COST.

I started reading the manhua and got hooked into story. When I reached the point where there weren't any updates for the latest manhua, I went on to read an online english translation of the novel ( A Naive Short-Tempered Girl translated by azurro4cielo.wordpress.com ), and I couldn't put it down despite the numerous grammatical errors of our kindly translator. The english grammar is so bad that I thought my english would regress. But the story is so engaging that even wrong grammar couldn't stop me from powering through this massive novel.
The comic version really is a good adaptation of the novel. The character drawings are beautifully done. As for the story, it's really addictive in a soap opera way. You have to be in the mood for this kind of story when you get into it. Otherwise, it would be a very long and frustrating read.
When I first read the comic, I thought that it was like a modern day bodice ripper set in China. It has all the classic soap opera plots and romance tropes one can think of. The classic Alpha-hole, underworld emperor, Mary Sue heroine, CEOs, gangsters, ultra-rich, rags to riches, amnesia, hidden identities, misunderstanding, harem, sex contract, love triangle/web, missed opportunities, kidnapping, murder, drugs, sexual harassment, romantic angst, rape, heartbreak, cliffhangers, rivalries, wedding, election, road chase with shooting guns, pregnancy, miscarriage, showbiz personalities, etc. It's the whole package. There are a lot of ups and downs and twists and turns. It's a crazy emotional roller coaster, if you're willing to ride the tide.
Fair warning though, there are some misogynistic lines here and there. The main lead sexually harasses the heroine in the first few chapters. The hero undergoes his own transformation and redemption though. See? Doesn't it just scream Bodice Ripper?

It took me 11 hours to read this in its entirety and it’s just... awful. The main character, despite her intelligence and cunning, is easily abused and manipulated by the men in her life. Every single one of them is garbage, even the so-called “nice” one.
The romantic lead has 0 redeeming qualities. I already hated him pretty much from the jump but then he does something truly heinous and everyone just kind of shrugs it off. Worst part is he gets ample opportunity to do it again (which he does). And I’m supposed to be cheering for this guy? I’d give negative stars if it were possible. Do not recommend.

It just keeps getting worse for her instead of better. I don't think his good qualities are outweighing the bad. The fact that he hit her and she blamed herself essentially...
And he actually does it. After all those chapters, after never being able to trust one another...there is nothing, nothing that can redeem him now (not that there was anything from the first time he hit her, but my gosh. This is not how you write characters.) The only way this story works is if he dies in the end. But I'm perfectly fine to be done now. I was hoping for something redeeming.

Overall Rating: 1/10 - Terribly cliché in every way.
This is a terrible cliché of a weak minded, frail, easily manipulated, targeted by every horny man and abused but wont leave the guy story. Yeah. The men in her life are abuse except for one.

I finished reading this NOVEL in Chinese which is the original language it's written in Three years ago. I saw yall's ratings and I don't know are you guys rating the manhua or what but I'm gonna rate this based on the novel. I initially read the manhua first but it stopped updating so decided to finish the story by reading the novel. It's a wattpad kind of style writing (obviously) and the story gets really frustrating. But I did BAWL MY EYES OUT reading every chapter from a part of the novel. The story's actually interesting and it got the ending I wanted lollllll. But to be fair yaoyao should love herself more and stop getting hurt. BTW, I'm judging this novel by the story not minor details that you guys hate a story for lol, THE END. JUST read it if you guys like to cry and for drama that we all are here for, cuz our lives are not that interesting 😌

De verdad que lo he intentado pero no he conseguido terminar el capítulo 10. La trama es bastante absurda pero no es lo que me molesta, lo que me molesta es la misoginia. Ya no esque el prota tenga red flags , no puedo con un personaje tan misógino. Ni en las novelas tóxicas de Wattpad del 2013 hay tanta misoginia.
