The essential film companion for Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them
Learn all about the extraordinary beasts that Magizoologist Newt Scamander carries in his magical leather case! From the adorable, furry Niffler to the majestic Swooping Evil, this Cinematic Guide features captivating beasts and magical movie moments from Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.
A fun, quick read. The real highlights are the pictures, stills from the movie, that really allow you to study some of the more intricate details to the creatures and their environments.
This is a fun, quick read that combines beautiful pictures and fun facts about the fantastic beasts. It is mainly aimed at children, so it also provides a fun, short summary of the movies storyline where the beasts are involved, giving it almost a comic book feel at times.
This book is aimed at a younger audience, but adults that love Harry Potter and the Fantastic Beasts film will truly enjoy it. This is a guide to not only Newt and his magical case, but also each of the creatures seen in the film. We learn about what is inside the magical portion of Newt's case, how that helps him in his work as a mazizoologist, and some about the habitats he creates for the creatures. What is really fascinating though, is the description of the characteristics and habits of each creature. The Occamy, Thunderbird and Demigause were my favorites. The photographs and art were very well done and enhanced the text in the best way.
Super cute, quick read that compiles all of the highlighted beasts from the Fantastic Beasts and where to find them. Perfect for younger fans of the series as it has tons of pictures to accompany the beasts descriptions. The book also allows a deeper look into Newt's case as well. Recommend to those who love the movie or fans of Harry Potter.
This is an adorable children's book companion to Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. The book explains what it is a Magizoologist does, and essentially serves as a child's introduction into the world of animal rescue and rehabilitation. Throughout the book there are nods to work that real people do in conservation, and how Newt's work mirrors that. It's a sweet thing that I greatly appreciate, and I could easily see it sparking kid's interests in being able to do Newt's work in the world around them.
After the introduction to Newt's job, tools, and character the book is divided up by focusing on each beast that appears in the movie. The beasts are described, along with pictures of them, and occasionally a little quote or two from the film about them. The book is absolutely darling, and likely far more accessible than the full Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them when it comes to the intended audience.
All in all? This is a book I would've devoured over and over as a kid, and it was a delight to read as an adult. Quite the fun little addition to any enthusiasts library. I'd love to gift it to any especially young children in my life, as a small explanation of the work I do - well, a more fantastical one. But aren't hedgehogs fantastic in their own prickly way?
The guide gives a general overview of the magical creatures. They don't seem as scary anymore once you read about them. I want a Niffler for myself, though
Generally this is a good intro to the world of Fantastic beats in terms of really getting to know each beast that appears in the film and you get to know Newt a bit better as well
It was good but very short. I’d have loved to have more information for each creature. It was a quick and simple read, though. Easy for young kids I would think.
