Okay, picture this, it's summer, right about the middle of summer. That means it's hot, and sunny, and there are lots of bugs, lots and lots of bugs. Also, there are parades, picnics and fireworks, all very loud activities. All this is perfect for migraine days. Lots and lots of migraine days. Then a box comes in the mail and one of the Spirit of Christmas books is in the box and I get lost in the fun of decorations, baking, family dinners, crafts and gifts to make. The summer just became a whole lot better.

I was gifted a series of these books from and elderly lady in my condo building who no longer sews or cross stitch and she gave about 8 or 9 of these wonderful books . They are beautifully done, the photos and home decor ideas are fantastic and even found some sewing and cross stitching charts in them to do. I love them, mind you some are a little dated but really the Christmas looks fantastic for any year and to be honest what is old is new again...vintage is in! I am sure I will get lots of enjoyment from them and found out that they still put them out each year so will be looking for more of these! I gave the collection 4 out of 5 stars!

This is the first in a series of cooking and craft books that will inspire you to do all "things Christmas" before the holidays. Altho some of the crafts are now out of style, many can be adapted to our choices now, and the recipes are still a wonderful selection to peruse before planning any dinner or get together.

The first in this series, this book is full of crafts and recipes for the holiday season - and is almost overwhelming. Unlike many craft books that focus on one medium, this book is packed with crafts for different mediums. There are patterns, full color photographs, and very detailed instructions.
