Spider-Man chases villains throughout the city, with the help of his Super Hero friends, in Thwip! You Are It!, a pre-K leveled reader featuring picture reading, word repetition, and short, simple sentences with your favorite Marvel Super Heroes.
One star mostly because the design of Doc Ock is disgusting and the design of Rhino is grotesque. It repulses me. I’m also bothered by the fact that Spider-Man’s webbing has knots in it.
Also, Spider-Man shoots webbing at the bad guys, who shake it off and then attack him. He gets knocked down and then… just… moves on to the next baddie? This is just really dumb on a lot of levels.
If all I wanted to do was show my kids pictures of Spider-Man, this book would be OK. But because I was looking for something approaching a sensible plot, I was disappointed. I know, I know, it’s for pre-K but ... ugh.
