The last book I read about embroiderying by machine talked about needed to modify the machine. This book is about how to do this on a regular machine. Yea! The book starts out talking about how to do basic embroidery by machine and provides practice exercises so you develop the skills necessary.
The book is laid out in lessons which I really like. The instructions for the embroidery both regular and ribbon are very clear and are accompanied by excellent photos. I'm convinced I can do this even though I don't know how to do ribbon embroidery by hand. The lessons start out very basic with basically a line of ribbon to leaves and flowers to French knots and ruching.
The lessons are just practice, not projects, but there is a gallery of ways ribbon embroidery has been used. I would really have preferred a few projects. The book is very short and definitely had room for them without being too cost prohibitive. If not for that lack, this would have a five star rating from me.
