3.5 stars!

The Prince's Bride is the Cinderella retelling in Diane Albert's Modern Fairytale series. This is a standalone, so it isn't necessary to read the first book; Beauty and the Boss, the first book, is a Beauty and the Beast retelling, in case any of you are interested. ;)

I just adore modern retellings! In this second chance romance, we have Alicia Forkes, an American currently in a small kingdom called Randovia for a job assignment. After checking off 'have a one-night stand, and ditch

Meet a hot stranger in a foreign country. Check! Have a one night stand and bolt. Check! Check! For Alicia Forkes, she was able to cross off two items on the bucket list that her best friend gave her. With part of her bucket list complete, she should be enjoying the rest of her week in a foreign country of Randovian. But what happens when Alicia’s passport photo is plastered all over the news and she is to appear before the Prince?

'The Prince's Bride' by Diane Alberts is book two in the "Modern Fairytales" series.
I have not read the previous book so for me this was a standalone book. This is the story of Alicia Forkes and Prince Leo.
Alicia is having some hardships and her friend has created a 'bucket list' for her to do to get her mind off things and to come out of her comfort zone. So one thing to knock off the list is to have sex

4 - "Forever and always..." Stars!

Book two in Diane Alberts’ Modern Fairytales series takes the reader to Randovia where Prince Leo and commoner Alicia Forkes steam up the palace windows after one unplanned interlude in a night club corridor breaks all sorts of royal protocol, and brings them back together after a ten year separation.

"Your laugh… It’s haunted me all these years, and hearing it now… It’s as beautiful as I remembered."

Lots of story is told in this relatively short book, and if you

“I hope you’re happy, Brian,” Alicia Forkes whispered under her breath, eyeing the crowded nightclub.

What an enjoyable read! From the minute I picked up The Prince’s Bride I wasn’t able to stop reading!

When Alicia comes face to face with Prince Leo, he knows exactly who she is. However, she doesn’t recognize him. I don’t blame her, since he was in disguise! After their steaming night together and old laws Leo has to make Alicia stay with him. Which turns out to be just as difficult

This second chance is sweet with an unexpected zing…

Betrayal is an ugly word, but Alicia Forkes has felt that devastation for a long time. She’s made something of herself despite the hardship she had to endure and, recovering from another of life’s blows, she is going to lash out and do something completely out of character. She couldn’t have realized what that bucket list item was going to resurrect…

Prince Leo was a beloved and well-respected member of the royal family. He was also a rat
This is a delightful modern day Cinderella story, with underhand manipulations thwarting young love only a decade later being regretted and a second chance provided for the sparks to fly! With so many secret interventions preventing their developing relationship from flourishing, driving the young lovers apart, when they meet again unaware of the deceptions which kept them apart can they break down the barriers preventing trust and allow their hearts to reconnect and love to develop further? Alicia and Leo have a second chance to get it right. And they took full advantage of their second chance in a really heartwarming sweet journey ...

A chance meeting that zings off the chart chemistry, brings these two people back in each other's lives for way more than they bargained for. You see, Alicia thought she was just having a one-night stand with a stranger ... but it was anything but ;) SO, without giving too much away, after their little sexscapade, some safeguards are put in place that

A quick entertaining read!

Leo and Alicia met in New York about ten years ago when they were teenagers. They fell in love, but all that came to an end when Leo and his father traveled back home to resume their life as the kind and prince of their country. They never forgot each other, but things happened to keep them apart. When they meet again will their love be strong enough to work this time or has their time passed?

I get why Alicia was hesitant to trust Leo again but I felt she

I received an ARC of this lovely book in exchange for an honest review and I have to admit that I did not expect to fell in love with it :) before I start to tell you why I adored it this much, rest assured, even though it's part of a series, it works perfectly well as a standalone :) it was the first book written by this author that I had the pleasure of reading, but it will definitely not be the last :) I just need to straighten one more little thing... prince Leo is of course a very shortened ...more

I really enjoyed The Prince's Bride.

From the opening scene I knew this was going to be a great read and Diane Alberts didn't disappoint.

I loved how Alicia and Leo come together again after 10 years apart, the attraction and chemistry between them was HOT!!! *fans self*

After the miscommunication and secrets that kept them apart it was heartwarming watching them open up and reconnect.
They had to listen, trust, communicate and put past hurts behind them to get to their HEA.

I liked it a lot. It's an entertaining story. Both Alicia and Leo are interesting characters. It's well-written novel. Definitely a good read for romance lovers.

Alicia has a bucket list and currently only one item has been marked off. She needs to find the courage to go through with it. So here she is looking for a complete stranger ..... In the end who she finds turn out to be someone from her past.

Leo doesn't want to treat Alicia the way he must. His country's laws are different and besides

A great blend of fantasy, reality and romance. True soap opera material. Alicia has had so many let downs and emotional upheavals in her life she needs a change. Too bad her biggest heartache is about to have a miraculous resurrection. I enjoy reading stories where you get the escape you want, the heat you crave and the twists you don't expect. The Prince's Bride by Diane Alberts has all these plus more. A woman's fantasy come to life.

Another great read by Diane Alberts
I found this book a delight, a perfect read on my lazy Sunday.

Alicia is doing her best to tick off some items on her bucket list, she isn't dying though - but a dear friend did and set her up a list to get her living more! One item is to have a one night stand, and it's certainly hot when she does. Trouble is her one-night stand has repercussions she never imagined!

This one-night stand happens in a foreign country, a made-up country admittedly, with royalty and some strange rules. Yes, these

* First-time author for me

So I enjoy modern retailing of fairytales- they are, so fun to read. But I am not a big fan of second chance stories. They have to be done just right for me to enjoy them. This one is caught somewhere in the middle. I liked the fairytale part not so much the second chance part.

Leo and Alicia were lovers in the past, and it left Alicia heartbroken. Ten years later, these two meet again at a club filled with secrets and masks. Now that they are back together yet for a

This is book 2 in the modern fairytales series. This book is all about Alicia Forkes and Prince Leo and their 2nd chance relationship.
Sometime previously in their relationship, Alicia and Leo had some breakdown of communication –Alicia thought Leo did something so horrible, she really thought he betrayed their love. She left their relationship behind and tried to move on but never really had a real relationship again for some time. Because of this, a good friend of Alicia realizes that due to

I truly enjoyed this story even though I did not read the first in the series yet. Doing a quick search of the book, I didn't find the characters from the first book in this one at all.

This second chance at love story was perfect. You could feel their connection pouring off the page. Leo had his work cut out for him. Not only did he force Alicia to stay at the palace, he has to overcome her anger and bitterness that has built up over the years. Leo has to prove to her that her heart will be

I am a huge fan of the modern fairytale. I think most of us are especially every time an American becomes part of one of the European royal families. I received a free copy from the publisher and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I was never a romance reader until a few years ago. I mostly read mysteries/thrillers then I read some urban fantasy and dark fantasy and started branching out. I spent a few years reading nothing but dark fantasy until I burned out and needed something ...more

My favorite fairytale has always been Cinderella, so any retelling of it and I am first in line. The Prince’s Bride by Diane Alberts is such a retelling. Here we meet Prince Leopold, Leo, who has been searching for the girl he loved. Alicia Forkes is an American working in a foreign country. When she is out for the night, she has an incredible night with a sexy man in a mask.

But all hell breaks loose when Alicia realizes the man she had the most amazing encounter with is Prince Leopold, who

I was very confused by this book. I’m guessing Randovia is in the EU, as the king heads off to Greece to negotiate something, but it’s unlikely that a dictatorship with such misogynistic laws would be allowed to become a member.

I found the arrest of the heroine for having sex unnerving, and her being placed under house arrest, with no protection from sexual harassment from the prince an inappropriate storyline for a romance.

Minor things such as the two main characters deciding to get dead

It could have been 5 star if I could believe in heroes love for heroine which I couldn't. Ten years before he is telling he loved heroine but he didn't write to her or inquire about her what sort of love is that at present also he didn't do anything to change the situation whatever had been done had been done by his father .His father asked him whether he wants to marry heroine but he refused it, is that love .There should have been some reason for not contacting the heroine in the past . The Prince's Bride by Diane Alberts is Book 2 of the Modern Fairytales series. While this is part of a series it can be read as a standalone; I’ve only read this particular book and had no issues whatsoever in not having read Book 1. This is a second-chance/royal romance.

The path to true love is never as smooth as we might hope and whilst this follows a familiar path in as much as it has a fairy tale feel about it, the scenario is very much current, the events are very much up to date and the angst is very much believable.
Alicia is making her way in the world and doing a darn good job of it, when you take her past into consideration, she has fought hard to not only finish school but to carve out a career. The one thing that’s he doesn’t have sorted
