A spooky book based on the popular theme park attraction takes daring young readers on a private tour through a haunted manor house, where they encounter a ghoulish creature in a coffin, a decaying portrait, a fortune teller, and the backyard cemetery.
I really spent $28 on Thriftbooks for this gimmicky hot garbage. No semblance of a plot or quotable moments. Just half-hearted ghosts and wrought iron warnings. Not bad, but not good either. I have never watched or read anything Haunted Mansion and was hoping this would be the bona fide intro I was looking for. Hard nope.
Liked how it was interactive. Would need to see the ride to understand it better. Mom said she wished it ended with the hitchhikers, what ever that means
Although I found the concepts infantile with characters so fantastical as to not be deemed believable, I must admit that I was overcome with a feeling of dread which only increased with each turn of the page.
