Cinderella never had to deal with this crap.

Jane isn't entirely sure that Cinderella got such a raw deal. Sure, she had a rough start, but didn't she eventually land a prince and a happily-ever-after? Meanwhile, Jane is busy waiting on her demanding, entitled sisters, running her cleaning business, and . . . yep, not a prince in sight.

The Bachelor Auction is book one in the brand new series, The Bachelors of Arizona by Rachel Van Dyken. This book was my very first book by Ms. Van Dyken and was generously provided to me in exchange for an honest review by Grand Central Publishing.

Bachelor Auction - Rachel Van Dyken:

This book had a definite modern day “Cinderella” vibe to it but still was completely unique in it’s own way. Yes, we have shoes involved, and some evil sisters and one very handsome Hero. But I don’t think the original Cinderella and h

The Bachelor Auction is a modern-day spin on the classic fairytale, Cinderella. The story is filled with humor, angst, and steam – enough to keep this reader fully entertained. I’m not quite used to reading this type of story by Rachel Van Dyken but it’s obvious that she is a very versatile author and can practically write anything she puts her mind to.

A modern day Cinderella meets her prince in this fun and witty tale of two complete opposites, a cock, and an ass named Sheldon.

Jane was sure that her one meeting with the handsome stranger that saved her from an embarrassing dance floor incident would be just that, one meeting and one meeting only. So when a mysterious older, little bit crazy, gentleman hires her cleaning service and needs her to be a live-in maid at hi

A wee bit of manipulation gets the job done.

Are you the type of person who says yes more than no? Is it easier to keep the peace and agree to do things you really want to say no to? I'll be honest, before kids I was definitely the kind of person who tried to make everyone happy, especially family. Having children changes your life. We all know it, but, it's amazing how quickly NO becomes easier to say. It also can become one of your most frequently used words -

No, don't eat that.

Fairy tale themed romance? Allow me to sign straight on the dotted line. Yes, fellow readers I was drawn in hook, line and sinker with the promise of a Cinderella themed romance and whilst I was hoping for a heroine with a little more backbone I still throughly enjoyed this romantic adventure. A little on the saccharine side, but it also provided plenty of swoon and yummy heat to go alongside. Van Dyken has written some

Who doesn’t love a good rags to riches love story? Especially one very (huge emphasis on the very) loosely based on Cinderella. The Bachelor Auction stars Brock Wellington, the eldest of Charles Wellington’s three grandsons. For some reason, Brock’s grandfather wants to auction him off. Highest bidder gets a date, and hopefully a walk down the aisle. In one of the pre-auction parties, he meets Just Jane with the broken heels. Jane who saw him as Just Brock.

The Bachelor Auction is a modern day twist on Cinderella. This is the first full-length novel I have read like this and I liked how it wasn’t a complete match, but I could see the similarities between the stories

Jane, our heroine, works as a maid and has two awful sisters. She basically does everything for these two horribly lazy women. I wish Jane had stood up more to them, but again this is Cinderella with a twist, so naturally Jane was more meek and mild. Jane is offered a very lucrative job

Rachel Van Dyken is always a one-click for me. Am I a stalker fan? Sure, I follow her on Facebook, Twitter, IG. Sure she’s one of the top authors I hunt down at signings. Do I know her baby’s name? Her husband’s name? Maybe yes and do I have a crazy girl crush on her, why yes. And I’m not ashamed. It’s really easy to like her books, but when she’s an amazing person herself, well it’s easy to really love her books. She writes different genres from dramatic, mafia to one of my

Sweet, Adorable, and super Romantic!

This is a fun, modern day spin on the classic Cinderella story.

Brock Wellington and his twin brothers are single, and are known to be quite ‘social’, especially the twins who don’t even bother hiding their promiscuous ways. So, it’s Brock, who much step up to the plate and care for his brothers and run the company.

Yes! This was a humorous and modern retelling of the classic fairy tale, Cinderella. And I loved it!! Rachel Van Dyken injected this story with her own brand of laughs, feel good moments, and love. She took the classic and twisted it, flipped it on its head, and made it work. Not every remix will be golden, but this one sure was.

I think sometimes you know a book is just not going to work for you, and this is definitely one of those occasions.

This 100% is based on my own particular tastes and not the writing. I just struggle with adults allowing themselves to be manipulated to such an extent that it actually affects their own personal happiness especially when it is through other family members, and both the H & h are in that bracket in this book. I know in a way it is integral to the story, but I don't see the

The Bachelor Auction was a sweet modern day take on Cinderella, complete with the handsome prince, fairy godmother, and horrible sisters. We get the added benefit of sexy twin brothers who are hiding secrets that keep them commitment phobic. Simply put, they are manwhores. And they are hilarious!

Good golly, who doesn’t love a true-to-life Cinderella story? Especially one that involves a gorgeous, broody billionaire . . .

Jane is a busy woman. Busy managing the cleaning business she took over after passed away. Busy trying to make ends meet. Busy catering to the ridiculous demands of her sisters. The Bachelor Auction is a modern day retelling of the Cinderella fairy tale--except as is often the case in today's romances, with a successful businessman as Prince Charming rather than a real life prince. The heroine, in turn, is also a modern day woman, who quite fittingly owns her own house cleaning business, and has two (in this case real blood) sisters who abuse her both physically and mentally by throw
