This was a really quick read. Lots of anecdotes you could skim between the main ideas. I followed the principle of the protocol and quit sugar cold turkey with zero withdrawals. Vit C, Niacin, B12, and Vit D after meals for a few days. Cheap and easy enough.

Great book! Dr. Hoffer wasn't just a psychiatrist, but he also earned bachelor's and master's degrees in agriculture chemistry. Dr. Hoffer had a Ph.D. in biochemistry as well. He not only used this high vitamin method to treat addictions, but schizophrenia as well! It is a great book for anyone looking for help. I read it years after I quit drinking, and don't follow the vitamin therapy protocal. I don't feel that I need it. I am attempting to eat more of a traditional foods diet. Mostly using N ...more

A GREAT READ FOR ALL

This book explains; addictions, how cravings are reduced and challenges imposed by the treatment establishment. I have already ordered supplements online. May my depression be lifted!
