I... wow. Wow. My whole heart aches so much but that was honestly one of the best books I've ever read in my life and I'm a little concerned that no other book I read this year will top it.

Full review coming closer to the release date ♥

Thank you so much to Random House Kids for providing me with this ARC in exchange for an honest review!

As Cat would say, "Hold on to your undies, kids!"

Thank you so much to Allen and Unwin for sending me a review copy!

This was SO good. I never do reviews like this, but I think the best way to sum up this book is through the AMAZING cast of characters AKA Squad 312.

Tyler --> squad leader, golden boy, "captain hotness" with a heart of gold, Scarlett's twin.
Auri --> biracial (she's Irish & Chinese!), woke up with weird powers after being frozen for 200 years......as you do.
Scarlett -->

A new YA space adventure from the authors Of Illuminae! It's a fun, quick read with a diverse cast of older teens. Their crew of six (or seven) is on the run from deadly enemies while trying to solve a mystery that may have galactic consequences. The plot isn't as unique as Illuminae (the basic plot will be familiar to anyone who reads a lot of SF), but it did suck me right in. The constant shift in POVs can get a little dizzying, and some of the characters are much more memorable than others.

I typically don’t like sci-fi books...unless it’s written by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff.

Then I fucking love sci-fi books.

Finian- Sassy, Sarcastic, Bisexual with a dirty mouth that never stops being inappropriate and telling jokes.
Cat- Hot headed, Bad ass, tattooed pilot who takes no shit from anyone.

Ouch! Writing this review kinda hurts my heart!

Nevernight, penned by Jay Kristoff, is one of my favourite books of all time and I also have a deep appreciation, awarding all books in the series a full five stars, for The Illuminae Files, which is penned by both Jay Kristoff and Amie Kaufman. Given how ardently I adored both authors' previous work I felt sure this was going to receive the same fanfare, but alas...

I truly think this is a case of 'it's not you, it's me' as there is nothing to fault

So I have it on good authority--a.k.a. Jay and Amie themselves during a conversation with them on their Obisidio tour--that this book is going to have seven different perspectives, that it's not in the same universe as The Illuminae Files, and that it's being set in the Milky Way galaxy instead of the Andromeda, which is why--if you've been following Jay's instagram--

I don’t know why I’m even surprised that I loved this. Amie and Jay have proven themselves to be MFing geniuses and this is no exception.

I loved the entire crew of Squad 312. They’re snarky and ruthless and loyal af. I throughly enjoyed reading how this group of ragtag misfits bonded over weirdness and created something amazing. And normally the constant shift of POV would irritate me, but I love seeing all sides when it’s from Amie and Jay.

Plot wise, it everything I could have wanted. It’s fu

Many thanks to Random House Kids for sending me an eARC via NetGalley for my honest review!

I want to start this review by saying that I was very fortunate to have been given a EARC, I swear that my neighbors could hear me cheering. With that said, this book disappointed me so much! I really wanted to love it and I really didn’t like it until the last 30% of the book. I found it to be extremely boring. I loved Jay and Amie’s Illuminae Files and I do enjoy there writing.
