Juggernaut Indie author Kathryn Le Veque is a 'tour de force' in publishing.
Kathryn is a critically acclaimed 21-time USA TODAY Bestselling author, a charter Amazon All-Star author, an Indie Reader top seller, and a #1 bestselling, award-winning, multi-published author in Medieval Historical Romance with over 100 published novels.
Among her many accomplishments, she is the CEO of Dragonblade Publishing, the #1 Historical Romance e-book publisher on Amazon. In 2020, Kathryn collaborated with Sourcebooks publishing for a Medieval Fight Club series set in Scotland.
Unlike other samplers or anthologies, this collection does not try to launch new writers or raise interest in little-known genres. Each of these authors is established in her own right. So what you get is a box of gems. The stories are fleshed out, the characters rich and captivating, and the settings feel authentic. Also, each story in its own way breaks the mold of the typical romance novel, whether it's taking on a brood of kids, overcoming prejudices or searching for treasure. Each tale is unique and flavorful.
This is a collection of interesting and intriguing stories, not all in the same period, but all encapsulating the essence of honor and chivalry. Different authors bring their own special brand of romance to this set, which will keep you entertained for many hours.
I thought it was a nice collection of stories. I definitely liked some better than others. I was disappointed to find that some were part of a series and not the first in said series.
Some really outstanding stories by some great authors. Guardian of Darkness is one of Le Veque's best, imho. Fantastic writing that will keep you glued to the book until you finish it. Her characters are so bold and alive! A Season of Love is actually two novellas about sisters. Pretty tame and predictable, yet entertaining. Findley's Lass is a five star story. I loved the characters and the writing really puts you in the story. Dark Surrender was really different and a little strange but entertaining. Nothing bad, just a topic (sunsickness) I've never seen before in a historical romance. The Highlander's Temptation by Eliza Knight was enjoyable and very typical of her writing. Crown of Dreams was the dud. I tried so hard to get through it but the h was so annoying and obnoxious I finally called it quits. Finally, the Isle of Lies was entertaining and I really liked Ian, not so much Moira as she was too mean. I get her wanting to be independent, but she went overboard. All in all, a good set of stories that is very entertaining.
