I really enjoyed this story. I think the characters will stay with me long after I have finished it.

At first I was annoyed with the main character, Sean, but once I got to know his background, I understood what made him so cold and distant. He has lived through things that I have not and hopefully will never experience.

I loved the warm, intelligent character of John, whose persistence in getting Sean to open up was crucial. From the start, he was a likable character and his presence on that be

This little novella was graciously sent to me by the author, and I am very honored to be reviewing it.

The novella explores heavy themes of grief, guilt, loneliness and I appreciated that the ending wasn't all sunshine and rainbows. I love a book with darker themes, and I especially loved the old man in this one--John.

That being said, I couldn't help but feel this book only skims the surface of the characters. I would love to dig deeper into these characters and without that depth, sometimes felt
