Stolen plans, Chinese spies and a government based thriller that is sure to delight, K Street was a refreshing blast of what made me fall in the thriller genre.

Kay, fired for “going rouge” from the DEA, is now working for the Callahan Group. The Callahan Group is an uber covert agency and not even Kay knows who pulls the strings behind the organization.

When Thomas Callahan is attacked, Kay must traverse the dangerous world of machinations, government cover ups and spies to survive.

Kay is a heroine that you can really get

My first experience with this author and series turned out to be a great one. I plan to go back and read the prior novels to get to know more about the Callahan Group and Kay. Kay is a kick-ass heroine. She showed that she can play rough ball. I would rather be fighting along side her than against her. Besides being strong, she is also smart. Oh, and she does not care if you are male or female. If you get in her way, you better give her what she wants.

A good storyline with plenty of intrigue. B

Kay Hamilton is a ‘take no prisoners’ kind of gal. She’s strong, she’s resilient, and she’s tough. She’s already been fired from the DEA, and now, after a year with Callahan Group, she is beginning to have serious doubts about their legitimacy. So when she goes to work one morning, planning to tell her boss that she can no longer work for the Callahan Group, but instead finds the office under siege, she takes action. She ha

This is a Goodreads win review. This seems to be book three in a series. The main lady was fired from the DEA. Then she goes to work for someone questionable and this will lead her to more secrets.

Fast moving and a semi-fun character, but Joe DeMarco is my guy. Got ridiculous in the middle and continued to get worse toward the end. Do NOT recommend.

Kay Hamilton is both smart and dogged in her efforts to track down those who killed some of her coworkers (whom she didn't know) and wounded Callahan, her secretive and one would dare say, lying boss at the Callahan Group.

A professional gang raided the Group's offices in the early evening, killing two workers and wounding Callahan himself while stealing a safe. Unfortunately for the gang, Callahan was able to kill one of the five and Hamilton came along just at the wrong time for the gang and k

This is fantastic fun, a thrilling story and great, great characters. I love the author’s writing style, he writes with real wit and an ability to put you into the place of his characters, be they the good guys or the bad guys. His main series “House Justice” etc is very good indeed, but I am loving the Kay Hamilton series and this is the best to date.

I received the book for free through Goodreads Giveaways.

This is the third book in the series but the first one I have read. I also have never read anything by this author before. I liked this book-it has a good story line and likable characters. The book was fast paced-lots and lots of action. The lead character, Kay Hamilton, is a well-trained operative that likes to do things her way (she was fired from the government job she had earlier). She now works for a private company that

I was unfamiliar with the writer of this very good and engrossing spy/counter-intel novel. Kay Hamilton, our protagonist, is a well-trained and dangerously effective operative. She works for a private contractor which gives much more leeway than her government employed brethren. In this installment, Kay, must discover who attacked Thomas Callahan. An exciting story awaits the reader as Kay battles spies, government lies and cover-ups as well as the danger inherent in the intelligence business. I ...more

The third book in this action series, but it is not necessary to have read the first two.

Kay Hamilton is ex-DEA, and now works for a covert intelligence agency. She stumbles into a broad daylight, deadly heist taking place in her employer's DC office, and from there the action is non-stop as she pursues bad guys and the NSA pursues her.

The author writes as Mike Lawson for his Joe DeMarco series. Both characters are amusing rule breakers who get caught up in the machinatio

This is the 3rd and latest installment in the Kay Hamilton series. Kay is upset with her boss, Callahan, and is on her way to resign her position. When she arrives, she finds a robbery in progress and Callahan shot. She is determined to get retribution and find out who is behind this. She unravels the clues to find Chinese spies, the NSA, Pentagon, and FBI. I love Kay's determined nature and smart wit. She is truly a force to be reckoned with. This is a fast read, but kept me on my toes and inte ...more

Just another best-selling episode in the cinematic extremely thrilling story of a renegade detective trouble-shooter. The low-common-denominator of this crap is the technique of telling rather than showing. Characters are superficially attractive or repulsive. Nothing to remember here.

For me, this book starts out a little slow, even though there is some action. The last third of the book really got going and I could not put it down. Mr. Lawson tells a great story, so does the other Mr. Lawson!

Earlier in her career, Kay Hamilton was fired for her rogue, lone wolf tendencies. But this time around, she’s forced to investigate a dangerous conspiracy without any backup after her colleagues are all wiped out.

Initially, following the questionable circumstances surrounding her previous mission, Kay Hamilton isn’t sure she can trust the private intelligence firm she works for known as the Callahan Group. A former DEA agent, Hamilton decides that her e

When I requested K Street from NetGalley I didn’t realize it was the third in series. I could have read it alone and still enjoyed the story, but I prefer to know the full story behind the story and not the synopsized version. I requested the two previous Kay Hamilton books, Rosarito Beach and Viking Bay, from the library and read all three in rapid succession over this last weekend. Whew, what a ride! With non-stop action and entertainment with funny and engaging characters, the series only get ...more

What happened on K Street–murder and robbery–might take a while to unravel using conventional methods. That’s why Kay Hamilton employs her intelligence, determination, and every connection she has, to annihilate the red-tape blocking her from the truth. This hard-edged heroine plows forward to find the answers she needs. She had her doubts about working for the Callahan Group, but when her boss, Thomas Callahan, is attacked, and his safe is stolen, she follows the trail of evidence like a DEA de ...more

One tough broad!

Mike Lawson's other series protagonist , an agreeable guy who's a fixer for a Congressman, is a lot less lethal than Kay Hamilton, and not nearly as kickass, but they're both entertaining companions. In this, the third novel featuring the exDIA agent, she tracks the crew that killed her boss, a security consultant with strong ties to the intelligence community, all the way to a predictably bloody denouement that seems to set up her next challenge. Fast, crisp, a good airport r

A good solid government thriller complete with stolen security plans and Chinese spies. Except. Except the protagonist, Kay Hamilton, is an exceptionally well-trained operative, the Chinese are somehow using an uninformed American crew that ends up comedic in their actions and the story is told out of sync time-wise. The result is a very good romp, a much better than average spy caper and a series installment that begs the reader to consider other books with Kay Hamilton. I received my copy from ...more

This is the second Kay Hamilton book I've read and I enjoyed this one as much as the first one. If I was to be a spy, I would want to be just like Kay! Gutsy, smart and determined. This story takes off on page 1 and moves along quickly with some interesting twists and turns. While I'm waiting for the next one I really need to go back and pick up the first book, since I started with #2. Funded by all the alphabet agencies and created by those who run them, she is not afraid of what to do or the consequences for what she chooses. Her "company" has been attacked and she must find out who and why... and who will pay for it!
