Fabulous ending to an amazing series! Don't pay any mind to how long it took me to read it. It's fast moving...I just didn't have much time.

Dyam was heartbroken by Naiah’s death and can’t seem to keep from thinking about her. When he goes to the mouth of a volcano to investigate a strange blade seemingly created from the ash of a volcano, he even imagines that he sees Naiah there. Convinced, she is a sister witch who looks like Naiah, he accompanies Zoricah and Yara back to the witch village for

Let me start off with saying I love Ella J. Phoenix’s Dragon Heat series and the final installment Blood Curse did not disappoint. Yes Ms. Phoenix is ending this magnificent series, but don’t despair, she’s starting a new series that will be a continuation of this one, just some years later in the timeline, yay!!! I’m so grateful I was allowed to find this author through The Reading Café, and be given the chance to read and review every addition to this series. Ms. Phoenix has a talent for ...more

This is the fifth and, I believe, last book in the series. Sadly I didn’t enjoyed this book as much as the first three stories in the series. I am not a big fan of storylines where gods as the antagonist. It is a lopsided fight that can’t be won.

There is no way to talk about this story without including some spoilers from Book #3, Wolf Hunger. If you haven’t read it yet and hate spoilers, please come back.

Old enemies of Tardieh and Zoricah are back and they have teamed up with a plan to destroy

"Blood Curse" by Ella J. Phoenix is Book 5 in the ‘Dragon Heat’ series and centers around the complexities of the vampire and draco relationship which is threatened by the mating between the king of the vampires, Tardieh, and Zoricah, who is part draco but has the weight of her heritage that plays into the dynamics of the legacy they will leave. Their enemies join together and create a surprising tool in the Phoenix, who has ties to both the water witches and the vampires.

The ending... I still can't quite wrap my head around it. Writing a review for this one is going to be fun (heavy on the sarcasm.)

I finished Blood Curse about a week ago… would you believe me if I told you I’m still trying to wrap my head around everything that happened?

To say that a lot happened in Blood Curse would be an understatement. The story opened with the birth of Zoe, the daughter of Tardieh and Zoricha. As happy as that moment is for the king, his queen and their friends, it also

Now that the supernatural world have heard of Zoe, they all want her. Some to protect her. Others to exploit or kill her. The Phoenix has been raised again to get Zoe and kill the others so that her master can exploit Zoe. Tardieh and Zoricah must determine the best way to handle the Phoenix who comes in the quise of their friend Naiah.

The book more than any of the others brings out the question of can one choose right over manipulation. Naiah is under the power of others who use black magic to

I cannot describe how much I love this series. THE WHOLE SERIES! It is very difficult to be able to maintain a fan base on a series that already has five volumes but Ms. Phoenix is truly gifted. Not only does she create a world full of wonder, mystery, darkness, light and amazing sex, she creates characters that are so well developed that you feel like you know them. Blood Curse is not an exception. I do recommend to read books 1-4 to be able to know the characters and see how they grow but ...more

My traditional style of reviewing isn't going to work for this book because if you've hadn't read the first four books of this series. Alot of what I'd write would spoil certain elements in the story for you. I hate when that happens to me. Blood Curse is a fitting counterpoint to the first four books. It has all the elements that I look for in a story~mystery, intrigue, compassion, and honesty. This world is truly magical and unique. The author has done an excellent job of world building to ...more

I discovered I was additcted to the paranormal when I was quite young - I blame it on the super heroes. Damn you, Wonder Woman! That passion led me to a number of amateur theatre productions in my home town, then ultimately to a bachelor’s degree in Performing Arts.
It wasn't very cool to spend five years working my ass off for no money. But, I have to say, it was then that I made my first attempts
