“There are no wrong turnings. Only paths we had not known we were meant to walk.”

So turn the clock. And let go.

Truly said. A Road Not Traveled by J. Alchem is a story of a motivational speaker Niogast Stinvins and his unbelievable journey on the path that people least expect anyone to travel. Read the Road Not Traveled? That was on my mind while I was breezing through this one.

The story opens up with the protagonist getting a call from a stranger who invites him to attend a strange meeting. Nope, these kind of calls are unusual for him to get. That doesn't happen everyday!

And that day was something to talk about.
It will change things around him.

He settles on to going for the meeting and see what happens. Some times, these small steps in our life can be life changing and thought provoking. He is asked a question that will stay in his mind :

Can the world be a single country?

In order to think for its pros and cons, the author takes you to the journey where he talks about the practicality of this mission. What things we have to learn and which are the stuffs we need to give up.

I am a neuroscientist and they say in my circles that unlearning is easier than learning. Well, does this apply to the humans as well? Nio has to confront his own demons and spite at them that he's not afraid.

Writing style is to give you hope once again. The author grips your attention from the start. Simple but convincing writing fashion asked me to give it one more star for it. Dialogs are catchy and sharp.

Another thing that impressed me was its briefness. A detailed concept has been presented and played in front of the readers in a lucid and enlightening manner.

“ You never know what's around the corner. It could be everything. Or it could be nothing. You keep putting one foot in front of the other, and then one day you look back and you've climbed a mountain. ”

Verdict : If you want to read something with a distinct concept, choose this NaNoWriMo work.

I am an author of this book, so, obviously it is very close to my heart. Whether it is its acknowledgement or preface or the story itself, everything is what I imagined in last three years while penning down each word of this book. I actually cried, bleed on the paper to give a shape of a book to my imaginative world.

I was broken seeing the hatred between the countries. I was disturbed with how terrorism activities were planned to destroy the peace. I was sad how countries were spending millions-billions on nuclear weapons when their own people were starving to death. I was so sad for the people who stuck in other countries and found no way around to meet their own family just because of boundaries. And it is how the idea of "One Country World" came on my mind and I tried to create a world, where no country is in war, no country has boundary, no country is making nuclear weapon, but just love all over around.

I had a really hard time while working on the concept of "Can the world be a single country?" as nothing was written on the same before. I paid multiple visits in library and surfed internet. I had many-many creative and imaginative discussion with myself while penning down this book. As this book represents no country, so, it was hard for me to name the chracters and places as well.

The character of Niorgast Stinvins and Albormi Menhtis are very close to my heart, but I tried to give ample chances to other characters as well to let them live the way they wanted. The Book holds many incidents which either open up your mind or plant ideas in your heart to stand for humanity, to stand for "One Country World"

The book has a romantic side as well, which is pictured in flashback. The character of Sidzy Merilym is sweet and out of the box, she is not afraid to do something unique; a character portraying woman empowerment.

The book has many amazing quotes and incidents which are going to remain in your life forever.

Overall, this book is an amazing and unique treat to your heart, mind and soul; something that should not be missed.

Have a "Blessing Coffee" while reading this book.

A Road Not Traveled by J Alchem is another gem from the author’s collection. I just recently reviewed his other book, Undelivered Letters, but this one is totally different and pleasantly sombre.

Niorgast Stinvins is a motivational speaker, who receives an anonymous phone call one day asking him to arrive at a particular address that evening. Strange as it seems at first, he decides to go and satisfy his curiosity. He, along with two other men, namely Doili Flenk and Bakintin Lenit, meet their host, Albormi, at the venue. When Albormi discusses the reason for their summons, all three are in disbelief and denial. But they are soon convinced and begin working on a very significant project. What if the all the countries in the world worked together as one? What if there was unison among all without the obstacles of corruption, crime and such? Is it even possible? With new found friends and getting over his lost love, Niorgast finds this project to be a pleasant diversion but there is so much he doesn’t know.

J Alchem is known for his short but thought provoking stories. And each one of his books are differently themed. This time, he has chosen a very unfathomable theme, in my opinion. The story line is great, toggling between the past and the present. All of around 200 pages, the book gives us a glimpse of situations and circumstances that would be ideal for all, that we can only imagine, as of now atleast. But yes, such stories do give us hope and that is something humanity needs a boost of, from time to time. A special mention about the preface in the book, I loved it!

Well written and impeccable character detailing, I enjoyed reading A Road Not Traveled . If you are looking for short reads that move you, then you must pick up J Alchem’s works, they are treasures!

I am a big fan of Alchem's quotes and write ups. When I came to know about this book, I couldn't control myself from grabbing a copy as I was sure, it is gonna be an amazing read like his quotes. The book is like a Hollywood picture; entirely different and thought provoking. Even the idea of "can the world be a single country?" gives butterflies to stomach.

Usually I skip acknowledgement part of the book, but this book binds you from there itself and you come to know that you picked a really fantastic book, full of imagination. The story revolves around "one country world" connecting all three unknown characters with one another, how three person get an unknown call from a stranger and how they meet, share space, fall for one another and work for a thought provoking idea to make it a reality, amazingly portrayed.
the characters are well groomed and proper space was given to them to explore themselves, especially the character of Nio and Albormi. The Story is full of Twists and turns, the moment you think you have tighten the grip over story , a twist comes.

I had a hard time pronouncing and remembering the name of the characters, but it was again amazing to say their name aloud, just to bring them on your tongue.
I completely enjoyed the book, it is indeed a beautiful piece of literature. A must read for everyone.

First Impression:

The blurb of this novel was so good that I wanted to try this book, it was on a different lane altogether. The cover so good, and title pretty attractive just makes one flip the pages right away.

Overall Impression:

I was terrified with the choice of names in the beginning, it is pretty unusual for an Indie author to pick names that are not familiar in this region. The author just bags ratings because the concept he deals in this novel is amusing, different, and new. The author’s vision, creativity, and uniqueness would amaze the readers in the first go.

What did I like in the book?

Concept

The underlined motivating and inspiring vision knitted through

Humor peppered that makes us giggle at places

Characters were fleshed out enough, and just enough that would suit the novel. It was not over done unlike a few novels that I have read. Thanks to Alchem

It deals a lot of emotions throughout

Frown Factors:

Editing was good, but could have been much better. Grammatical errors and redundant words were disturbing the flow to an extent, but yes, pretty negligible though

From title of the book it goes to a journey of adventures. It creates fusion in readers’ mind, how can world be a single country? From turning pages to pages’ author kept readers’ mind fully concentrate on the book. Author describes every aspect and angles which facing our country now-a-days. Author surprisingly added a love angle in an adventurous and political exposure book & also he successfully exposes the secrets of Mr. albormi. He also gives perfect justification on every character in the book. The plot is very unique and unthinkable. It grabs readers’ mind and increase the readers’ attention to read more and more pages in a single day.
One of my favourite quote on this book “our favourite thing lets us forget about our suffering”.

(Review Copy received from Sidra.)

A Road Not Traveled is the story of three 'friends', Lenit, Flenk and the narrator, Nio. (Okay, it is not really a story of three friends per se, but this description is befitting in the larger picture.) Told from the perspective of Nio, the story traces the short journey of the three and their interaction with one Mr. Albormi, a stange man who summons them is an equally strange way and entrusts them with the task of achieving 'One Country World' - a world with no boundaries, no war, no terrorism, wherein all the countries pool-in their resources together to achieve the achievable - in short, One World!

The story starts on an intriguing note where the three friends are 'directed' to assemble together at a given place at a given time and are instructed about their 'mission'. Obviously dumbfounded and initially reluctant, the three are eventually put together in a single home to clean the mess of a state that is Barbosa. While the three are initially not satisfied with the choice of the state as it is the most corrupt state known for its notoriety, Mr. Albormi finds a way to convince them.

What follows is a frenzied state of affairs where the three work very hard to get the infamous CM to work towards the betterment of the people of Barbosa, guaranteeing him as this being the only way he can redeem his reputation and can have a chance on gaining popularity amongst the masses once again.

Towards the end comes a shocking revelation that is bound to shake you to the core. Personally, I am not a big fan of a very open-ended story that leaves the reader with more questions than answers. A Road Not Traveled was one such story. The climax is, well, quite a climax but it doesn't really add up with the rest of the story in the backdrop. The author could have, instead. maybe:
1. had had a different, more befitting end, that satiated the curiosity of readers to at least some extent; or
2. added a few more chapters giving some rationale behind the end.
In the absence of either, I felt the story to be incomplete, leaving a sour taste in my mouth.

Other things that did not work for me:
1. The writing - it was average at best, riddled with grammatical mistake and much below average vocabulary. That being said, the overall language was lucid, hence suitable for all.
2. The Alzheimer's episode deserved another chapter, even if was just to highlight the character of the protagonist a little more.

What did work for me:
1. The story is fresh, the content new.
2. The character of Neo is supremely positive although, for the life of me, I could not understand the age bracket he falls into. While it may not be of much importance to everyone, the age range of a character helps me in visualising them and their relations much better, hence leaving a mark when I am done with the book.
3. The parallel stories of Neo (even though I found no relevance of having them as a backdrop), were entertaining and interesting.

Can read on a weekend in one sitting.
It's a short and light read.

Just loved the book, sir. No idea from where to start, loved the acknowledgment of the book, was amazed by the concept of blessing coffee, and many other sections of the story. It has been really interesting and innovative. A perfect combination of love, suspense, motivation. The entire new concept of ONE WORLD is really attractive and inspiring. Respect and love for such creativity and amazing piece of work.

A road not travelled is a book which is dedicated to Dr.Abdul Kalam, who actually dedicated his life for motivation, the start of the very first page of pregnancy part to delivering a baby was just an awesome one. The poetry which can motivate the reader to read it again & again since it contains motivation! A strange talk with a unknown caller created an anxiety to know whats exactly in the store! 3 people with different backgrounds are taken into a mission with a person who is unknown & so his deeds, just with a idea of one country world was great , but it created a suspense when it was revealed that it comes to be known that he was actually leaking the information, but his concepts were very clear even if he was a spy , he wanted the world to be one where all the adversities are removed & make a better place to live in. In between the inspiration & motivational words by the author J.Alchem were great. The right use of words at the right time & the right momemt. The best quote of this book was Patience is bitter, but it's fruit is sweet!! Sidzy part was interesting over the blessing coffee & letters !! Overall the book kept me engaged to complete it asap as I wanted to know the Fruit of the book !! God wants us to understand them, to explore them & to demonstrate them in front of the world !! All these were truly achieved by the book! Great work done author J. Alchem

The book provides immense pleasure to a reader. Even when I was extremely tired, I couldn't stop myself from reading this book. The book has small thoughtful and motivational incidences, that leave a smile on our faces, merely because they relate to our real lives. The author has penned short yet meaningful thoughts throughout the book. The book is full of twists and turn and the reader cannot even guess what will happen next.I loved all the characters of the book.It was fun reading this book, and I learnt a lot.

Its a unique topic and you seriously ask yourself, "Can world be a single country?". The answer is hidden in the book. :)

Happy reading :)

The titke of the book is "A Road Not Travelled" and theme of the book one world country is totally interrelated. The book talks about an impossible and thats why the title is Perfect.
The Acknowledgement itself is of one of its kind. This shows the how beautiful you can describe the initiation of. The preface is too an unimaginable kind off.
The Story revolves around the guy nip and his life.. which was full of hell lot of dilemmas, inspiration and issues.
Though this is a kind of fiction but yes in reality also one Country World is merely a dreams..and some how similar to the poem the road not taken by Robert Frost.
In the initials the book revolves around the dream of Mr. Albormi and the guys nio, lenit and Flenk. and aftet than itvwas much motmre oriented to nio's life.
The best part is " Blessing Coffee" and its concept, Totally appretiable.
Here we have lots of message from the book:-
1. If you want to achieve something, first acquire each and every information about it. Albornmi was expert in that.
2. Who are the people who is going to help you in accomplishing your task and an impotant discussion with them.
3. The story is full of inspiration and novel fairly deals witb the term achievements, friendship and Love.

The most touching line i found is, " If you settle for less, you will keep setting for less and you will not reach your goal you have set at first".

Sidzy, She is the one who have firm faith in nio and she proves the fact that if your love is true no matter what the situation is, it will be yours.

“A road not traveled" is one of my favorite piece from mordern Indian literature. It sets a benchmark for the young Indian authors to think something out of the box and create something that is unique and fascinating.
The main protagonist of the book is Neorgast stinvis but as I think this journey can never reach its destination without lenit and flenk.
These three professionals, their aspirations, their individual dreams and goal all gets together for a mission they are not even aware of.
But as I think the hero of this book is Mr.Albormi.His charismatic personality and aura surprises you, awakes you and made you answer all the questions that this book asks as you turn the pages and the journey begins.
Neo, his mother and his childhood diaries all leads you to an unforgettable encounter of a life that never seems to be blessed.
Although I love Neo,I feel not connected to his love story.
The idea of blessing coffee was not so new as well.
The most beautiful thing about this book is hidden in its words. You want each line to be quoted. The sweet-small incidence are told with love and the conversations seems to be alive.
Each character of this book playes an important part and help this journey to reach it's destination.
Nei, lenit and flenk all looks complete when they stays together.
At last this book to me is so good that I would never get tired from reading it over and over again.I would surely love to read more from the author.

This book is surely a type that I have never read before. As many people have talked about this book henceforth, I will just tell the best highlights of this book. The author has somewhat impressed me with his concept. The way the author has kept the suspense element and has always surprised the readers with every page is remarkable. The blurb caught my eyes and I so wanted to read this book. The cover was simple and colorful whereas the title reminds of Robert Frost's poem The Road Not Travelled. The author has done full justice to the title and the explanations said it all.

Kuddos to the author for coming up with a story which nobody could have thought. The language is easy to comrephend and absorb. The author can hook you till the end. I dont want to be a spoiler but a sneaky hint that the end will surely prove your judgements wrong.

The only things that I felt could have improved would be the fast pace of the story as it felt everything was moving like a movie. Moreover, some segments can surely take your interest off but thats my person thought. But it is a must read book if you want to read something different.

The cover of the book is very attractive. As a Veracious reader, I can very well purchase the book. I just loved the globe which represents the country, and Hat describes the main Protagonist. The Title is also fascinating along with the blurb of the book which urges you to read the whole book to know about the story. Seriously after reading the book, I personally started talking to myself “Can a World be a single country and what will be its consequences and Benefits. The narration of the book is flawless, and the characters are well defined. The series of the events in the book will keep you engaged till the end. The concept is really fresh and loves to have a movie on this concept someday. As a debut writer, Author had done an incredible job by choosing a very controversial and exciting concept. The writing style is simple. The end is also nicely written, and I hope that writer writes a complete series and some day we accept a Single country. I would recommend everyone to purchase this book. You will surely love it. Good luck Author.

First of all, the author should be appreciated for daring to write something unique. When the world is repeating the existing, the author opens the door to a unique concept.

The book takes you in its arms from the acknowledgement itself and you discover that you have got something creative to read.

The description of characters, locations, situations and what's going on in the mind of the protagonist is brilliantly explained.

I wholly loved the story but I want to mention few special things I highly loved here ; the bonding of Nio with his mother, the way she taught him difficult lessons of life, the character of Alborhmi (it is just exceptional), the library, the blessing coffee, the stories Alborhmi told time to time, the life of Nio in the closet and the last chapter when he explains what "one country world " is to Sidzy.

I completely loved the book and I would definitely recommend this to everyone.

I loved how amazingly this book portrays the women. There are three woman in this book (majorly) and all of them are shown as an example of empowerment.

The character of Nio and his mother is most cherish-able part of this book. How a lady let her son prove himself by being stood his side, when the whole world was against him, laughing at his intellectual , his grades, and at his failures. But the saddest part is, she does not get to see her child ( as she dies before that) successful, slapping those faces who declared him a fool.

There is another lady, who despite suffering, come up with the idea of the blessing coffee and make a great impact in the lives of people by her unique way.

The character of Albormi is exceptional. The campaigns team starts to make this world a single country are remarkable. The chapters ' The Library' and ' The Blessing Coffee' are beyond explanation.

I thoroughly loved this book and I would love to gift it to everyone I care for.

"Some writings are beyond words."This I can say after reading a novel which is penned down by a writer who is deep in his thoughts and successful in displaying the emotions in such a manner that reader carries away with the flow of emotions.First an #unconventional acknowledgement catches the eye; impregnated with a person's passion to write something unusual and unique . Author has nourished this baby (novel)with heart and soul. Thought provoking philosophical titbits evoke conscience of readers;we feel like engrossing them naturally.Proper blend of mystery, suspense and sentiments.A must read novel which you can connect in present scenario.Eagerly waiting for more beautiful writings from an extraordinarily intellectual pen. Emotion of love flows without force,we feel like going with the flow.
Best wishes for the most talented author J Alchem author and readers do read it ,you will thoroughly enjoy it .

I picked up this book just for its out of the box concept. But this book actually offers more than what it promises.

I highly got inspired by the way mom of Nio taught him difficult lessons of life. The character of Alborhmi is the coolest thing in the book. Nio justifies his personality. The efforts of making this world a single country impact readers a lot.

The comparison of God with an author is just mind blowing, the description of miss Hemi is exceptional, the campaign "first I change and then Nation will" encourage you to be a part of this, The blessing coffee is one of the best chapters of the book, so the last chapter when Sidzy explains "how much is 'A LOT'" to Nio and he explains what is, "one country world" to her.

I must say, this book will surely impact lives, people will never be the same after reading this book.

Never afford to miss this one.

A book with a unique & inspirational concept of making 'One Country World'. Along with this concept, the author portraited every character with the unique speciality.
The first Impression of the book "Acknowledgement" is the best acknowledgement I ever read. Book is full of motivational thoughts and Inspirational quotes. Also, while reading, some of the time you can easily relate mentioned circumstances as yours.
Beautiful part of the book: Mother and Son's Interaction.
Such an interesting ending. But I am still in confusion whether Mr Albormi, main character of story was a good guy or bad guy..!!

The concept, "can the world be a single country?" drove me towards this book. It is a journey of 3 strangers who get a strange unexpected call from a stranger. This stranger explores the idea of "one country world" in front of them and then after fighting against their believes, they decide to pursue this dream.

The book has many beautiful stories inside a single story that makes this book more beautiful. The romance part of the book is so adorable, so the chapter "the blessing coffee".

I loved the narration style of the author; the way he tries to connect with the readers between the lines.

A must read.

It is a book that should be read over and over.

A small children with his mother, struggling to prove himself, amidst the uncountable failures.
A person who is trying to make this world a single country by introducing a mission to strangers.
A lady who wants to help needy by offering them Blessing coffee.
A guy behind a closet, trying to understand his crime.

This book has many more such things to make you go speechless. I wonder how a small book could have such a wonderful things inside it. Just an amazing attempt.
Kudos to author.

What if a book inspires you and motivates you to a level that you start seeing the world altogether in a different way ?
A Road Not Travelled by J. Alchem is one such masterpiece which answers a very unusual question - ' Can the world be a single country ?'
Niorgast stinvins , a motivational speaker gets an unexpected call from a stranger that makes him walk on the road that was not travelled before by anyone . On this journey he is accompanied by two more strangers , Flenk - a political advisor and Lenit - a journalist . Find out the answers by grabbing this extremely motivating novel . The writting style is very unique with many twists and turns .The title of the book is looks so apt after completing the novel . The cover is too very bold and eye catching . The pinch of love added in the story amplifies the beauty of the plot .

The best part of the book is the lesson it teaches .It gives a beautiful lesson that no matter what problems one faces , their is always a solution to it . God , the creator of this universe , has a plan for everyone .
All that is required is to trust him and ourselves . And once we trust him , no problem is big enough , no hurdle is strong enough to obstruct our path .
( I hope the author agrees with me on this point . )
A must read for everyone .
