I read this because of my interest in the story of David W. Patten meeting Cain in the form of Bigfoot. This tale is also told in the short novel Clan of Cain: The Genesis of Bigfoot by Shane Lester. I don’t recommend the novel but this documentary of Patten's life is pretty interesting. I think it’s an invaluable resource for those interested in the early life of the LDS church. I especially enjoyed the story of Patten bodily picking up a heckler and hurling him about ten feet onto a woodpile.

Some really interesting stories about relatively unknown apostle David Patten. A good portion of the book is filled with sections of the Doctrine & Covenants, which is odd, but the stories about the first apostolic martyr in this dispensation make up for it.
Also, this book will take you about one hour to read. Well worth your time.

Short, faithful introduction to the life of a good man about whom not enough is recorded and generally available. Found it at archive.org's website, slash details, slash lifeofdavidwpatt00wilsrich, slash page, slash n7 https://archive.org/details/lifeofdav...

A short reprint of an old book about a hero in the early history of the LDS Church. Not real deep, and poorly documented, but the story makes it worth it.
