Ed Slott's 2016 Retirement Decisions Guide

Rate this book
Some $7.4 trillion has flooded into IRAs, making them the nation's top retirement account. And with 10,000 Baby Boomers retiring every day, and the first Boomers about to take their required distributions, the second half of the retirement game has NEVER been more important.

Investing is just one half of the equation, and if you lose your hard-earned savings to Uncle Sam, what were the years of stock market trepidation and savings really worth?

Remember, it's what you keep that counts! Ed Slott's 2016 Retirement Decisions Guide includes 125 ways to save and stretch your wealth, walking you through IRA planning basics, the saving secrets of wealthy retirees and the how-to of protecting your IRA.

Ed also lays out the questions to ask before retirement, the Roth IRA conversion conversation and the IRA strategies needed to succeed.

This guide also includes additional saving and stretching wealth wisdom on Medicare and Social Security planning and how they both fit into the retirement planning puzzle; an entire chapter devoted to RMD (required minimum distribution) planning; and Ed Slott's 2016 tax update that you won't read anywhere else!

You need to finish the retirement race strong to make the years of savings dedication worth it. This guide will start you on the path to retirement success.

Well Organized

This book is the only book you need from Ed Slott’s series. It is better organized and supplants the advice given in his other book:The Retirement Savings Time Bomb (which is very wordy).

Great little book and the author maintains a great website. Probably not everyone's favorite topic by any means but if you are at or near retirement some of the little "gems" in this book way more than pay for buying the book. Money and time well spent.

Great little tips for IRA/401K etc. Just be aware that many of tips are out of date being changed by the 2018 Tax Act.
