Some heroes aren't born... they're built.

Westley Worthington has it all. Piles of money, good looks, a head for business, and a seemingly limitless supply of women who want to please him. And that's just the way he likes it. Until a brush with death causes him to rethink his priorities, and consider someone besides himself for the first time in his pr

I was given this book as an ARC by talented Tasha Black. Its was very entertaining. I just love the characters in this book. Its full of action, conspiracy, humor plus its got some steamy scenes. You see Cordelia and West blossom in the book. Your heart goes out to goes to Edward. This is an awesome start to a series. I can't wait to read more.

West (Westley) and Cord (Cordelia). (WARNING this is a cliffhanger)
Listened to on audio and the reader, Mason Lloyd does a great job.
West is a douche bag.
There's just no if and or buts about that. But people can change... can't they?
After pissing of his closest friend, Cord, who was his PA, is promoted to his right hand 'man'. Cord only works for him because she needs the money in a bad economy, but also because the *sswipe holds the keys to her sister's future.
West is actually a genius when it

OH MY GOSH!!!! I was given this book as an ARC by the author the fabulous, beautful and uber talented Tasha Black. I knew it was going to be great after I read the first 2 chapters. Tasha has a way with slwly reeling you in and having you hooked before you even realize it. Once I started it I couldn't stop!! This book is the begining of what I'm sure will be an awesome series. West is your typical playboy, skirt chasing billionaire... at first. His personal assistant or glorified coffee fetcher ...more

Wellllll, it wasn't baaaaad. It just wasn't very good either. This is a romance above all else and I'm sorry, but it wasn't enough to carry the plot. Mostly because it wasn't at all developed and it was too diluted by the attempt at action/sci-fi. Plain Jane assistance works for jerk-face, womanizing boss and is inexplicably attracted to him. Jerk-face, womanizing boss can't figure out why his starlets no longer appeal and all he can think of is plain Jane assistant. That's pretty much it. It

Reconstructed (Building a Hero, #1) by Tasha Black by Tasha Black

https://ladiikeiii.wordpress.com/2017...

Not sure what the book was really about even when I read the description lol. But my guess that it's about the guy Westley being a hero and falling in love with Cordelia. Even though Wes is stubborn he learns to be nice to Cordelia and her siblings and save the kid Shawn from the bad guy (mind you I don't even remember the guy name). It's not even a bad thing cause I don't care to remember lol. But end the end the book is actually good. I can't wait

Oh Wowza. I just knew for some reason I would not be able to put this book down. Read in one sitting and then having my fingers itching to write the review. That's how good this book is. Electrifying, sublime with a touch of breathlessness. This is a completely different world to what the author Tasha Black gave us in Tarker's Hollow and damn if it isn't just as, or more exciting. Westley, Westley, be still my beating heart. Never has an Alpha male Hero started off on such a wrong foot more than ...more

DNF..

Geez! I just finished a book where the hero was drop-dead gorgeous and the girl was “plump.” Now, I found another one. WTH? That pairing is not going to happen so why do authors keep writing it. Even Cordelia refers to herself as “a fat girl,” and West does everything imaginable to keep his body in perfect shape. Plus the fact that West’s greatest concern is his dick. He has 6 ballerinas come to his office, ready to take them all on then turns them all over to his friend, except for one, th

Genius, billionaire, playboy philanthropist

So Tasha Black fooled me. I thought this book was headed to cliche-ville, where the highly intelligent plain Jane executive assistant is secretly admired by her self-indulgent, playboy, jerk of a billionaire boss who happens to have a scrumptious body and dreamy eyes. And we did head there, for a little while. Then this book detours into manly sensitivity, altruistic intentions and painful loss, but all with a decidedly non-angsty tone. Emotions don't r

I was given this book for an honest review, and I love this author. That being said...please go read this book. I would live in this story if given half a chance. The characters were well written and completely engaging, and I will admit to a bit of a girl crush on the heroine, despite my love of all things male, speaking of male...there is West, ooh la la. He is so deliciously bad, and then oh so good. I will continue to read this series, and recommend it to all who love a bit of hero in their ...more

I liked this book, I believe this was another erotica book. I know they had sex, a couple times. But still was good. That fool Wes was a idiot. But got the bullet from his heart once he spend those few hours with the girl Clauderia (forgot how to spell it lol). As I'm reading this, I'm wondering and thinking maybe someone is like a animal shifter and he's a hero but as I continue reading I'm thinking maybe he's a robot? I didn't get hero part until the accident. What Johnny Boy done to Wes was m ...more

Interesting, well-written book. I was expecting a SF romance. Up until about halfway, I was starting to wonder because the story read like a contemporary billionaire bad boy romance. Then it turned SF/PNR. Nice writing, good characters, interesting story. I'd call this a superhero romance, but not the comic book kind. Now I need to read book 2!

I absolutely LOVE Tasha's previous books, so when she said she was writing a Superhero themed series, I said BRING IT ON! OMFG I couldn't put it down! It's sooo different then her "Tarker's Hollow" series Curse & Fate, but you can tell it's writen by the same person. I started the book & was instantly drawn into the story, it wasn't as short as what I've previously read from Tasha, which surprised me, but it was a great surprise. If she'd cut this baby down I'm not sure if I could handle ...more

I didn't want to read this book after a few pages. I thought I'm really not going to waste my time on a jerk who the h suddenly desires for his "alpha" presence, even though he's a dirtbag. But I hung on... and I'm glad I did.

I stayed more because of Edward Dalton, the side kick with a secret. When West reveals what happened to Dalton and how he rescued him I thought there might be hope for him. When he finds out the Military is behind what happened to Edward is the same military that hurt Dalt

For a self-centered billionaire to a hero, I loved it. Yes, he's not 100% there yet in book 1 but I'm sure he'll get there by book 3. The first book is a great start to a superhero type love story and for a short/free book, I loved it! I did the audio version for $1.99 and it was even better http://amzn.to/1XWYH3g.

I loved this book‼ Cordelia is trying to support her family and to help get a cure for her sister. But working for the wealthy playboy is no picnic. Westley is just living day to day, he works to make money and goes thru women like candy. This is a wonderful story of a woman growing in her self esteem and a man learning what really matters. Recommend to all action romantic love stories. It is a stand alone with a HFN ending. ...more

I enjoyed this book well enough though I'm not sure I'll purchase and read the next in the series. The characters were a bit juvenile to me and kinda stereotypical. But I also want to know what happens to some of them...

A very short (audio-)book, but felt like it contained two stories, one scifi and one romance, that didn't have time to be properly developed. I really liked the cyborg/superhero-part which sadly was the smaller of the two.

So this book exceeded my expectations and then some. I was not expecting much, but wow did I get blown away. This book was great! Fantastically written, great characters, interesting story. Despite the standard cliches, which at this point in writing stories is unavoidable, the author handled them very well! It was a bit predictable, but I think that's okay, it worked.

My notes:

He didn’t actually know which fucking one she was. They all looked

Romanticamente Fantasy

I was first introduced to Tasha Black with her Curse of the Alpha serial. Each episode was quick, crazy, and had a steamy scene (most of which I lowered the volume for fear someone would hear the book). I got Reconstructed for free through Amazon and wanted to see how a superhero fiction worked.

You see, I'm a bit of a Marvel fan. I love superheroes, not as much as a good number of fans, but I like the story dynamics of a good superhero story. I hadn't even thought to read a superhero like book,

Bad boy billionaires aren't my usual choice in romance, nor is sci-fi, but put them together in the way Tasha Black does (and give me the audiobook version) and I was drawn into the story. I liked the way the landscape of this universe is described while moving the story forward. West behaved like a spoiled jerk from the beginning and there didn't seem to be chemistry between him and Cordelia, so I found it hard to like him and might have quit if I was only reading, but the industrial espionage ...more

She has a lot more going on then bouncing ahh....(lol), well, when his business is dangerously challenged, he finds himself coming up short in the friend department. Interesting Read

This book was an interesting read for me. The concept of prosthetics that are wired into the patient's nervous system would be a major breakthrough for the millions of people who are limited in their activities due to having an ill fitting, heavy, and awkward prosthetic. However, this book reminded me a lot of the 1970's T.V.show,The Six Million Dollar Man.

Because of the reminder of the T.V.show, and because the characters were not especially well developed, I gave this book thre

Wasn't initially sure about this book. The male character was definitely not a hero and why would the female character would want to be with him were my first thoughts; then I was trying to guess which character would become the hero.

Well it all became clear, and with an excellent story writing ability, Tasha Black had a bad boy turn good in a way that you were supporting her story line, engaging with the characters and hoping for that happy ending.

A surprise twist where you believe the bad boy

I'll admit I was a little put off by the lead male, Wesley, in this story...at first.  As I read and witnessed Wesley and Cordelia's relationship grow, I started to open up to him.  He is so full of himself and has no patience or respect for anyone.  Spending time with Cordelia causes him to change the way he thinks about things.  He goes from the unlikely, to likely hero and that alone kept me drawn in.  I look forward to the next book in the series.
