The story opens at beautiful Eltz Castle in Germany, but Yoko quickly discovers, with the help of her friend Ingrid, that a death ray prototype has been discovered on the grounds. A bit of spy action ensues when an attempt to steal the device is made. Overall, it was a fun adventure. I always enjoy the Yoko Tsuno stories that involve landmark settings. It grounds the insane adventures that sometimes happen in these stories.

More classic Yoko Tsuno action, but with an increasing 1980s flare. The diskettes and computer technology now seem hopelessly out of date, especially in juxtaposition with the superscience of electric death rays.
Vic has more to do in this volume than he has in the past, and we get additional hints of an off-screen relationship with Yoko. We also get some consistent characterization, in that Yoko is reluctant to take a human life. As usual, the villains that die do so based on their own refusal to receive mercy.

Another thrilling adventure, complete with a death ray, an early version of the internet and Yoko facing a moral dilemma. I greatly prefer these earthbound adventures to the Vinea ones.

One of the more grounded adventures of Yoko et al. The "fire of Odin" machine is especially plausible (assuming we can invent the super capacitors to store lightning). As always, the antagonists have human and understandable motivations.
An element I especially love about this series the the care and detail in the art. For example, Yoko consistently drives her Triumph. Or when she is working in coveralls, what appears to be the handles of some pliers can be seen poking out of a pocket in her overalls, and when she is prone, a pair of pliers indeed falls out of the pocket. But this is just a little detail of art, and the pliers have no relevance in the story; they are just a tiny background element adding to the amazing realism of Yoko's world.

Dieser Band gehört zu denen, an die ich mich kaum erinnere, dabei habe ich ihn in meiner Kindheit wahrscheinlich auch mehrfach gelesen. Woran das liegt? Vermutlich daran, dass ich die Story nie richtig gecheckt habe und auch als Erwachsene nicht ganz durchblicke.
Das fand ich schön: Burg Eltz! Ich liebe diese Burg und habe mich gefreut, dass wir zumindest den Anfang der Geschichte hier erleben durften. Den ganzen 80er-Vibe - heutzutage veraltete Technik, Autos und Mode. Wirklich schön.
Das hat mir nicht so gefallen: Die Geschichte war irgendwie... irrelevant? Ich finde es zwar schön, in den späteren Bänden Ingrid nochmal zu treffen, aber das kann nicht alles sein. Dazu kommt, dass in diesem Band viele Figuren ohne richtiges Motiv handeln - gute wie böse. Warum gibt der eine Unternehmer denen einen Heli und so viel Geld? Das sind doch Fremde für den?! Dazu kommen ein paar cringige Dialoge ("Dann ruh dich an meiner breiten Schulter aus" wer sagt denn sowas?). Auserdem erfahren wir Vics Nachnamen; der lautet "Video". Vic Video, was für ein dämlicher Name tbh.
Insgesamt okay, aber definitiv einer der schwächeren Bände in meinen Augen.
PS - als Kind habe ich mich immer gewundert, ob Yoko und Vic ein Paar sind. In den ersten zwei Werken des Sammelbandes sah es nicht so aus, hier fanden sich aber ein paar eindeutige Anzeichen dafür. Ich werde es weiter beobachten.

Vähän on aika ajanut tekniikan ohitse tämän tarinan kohdalla, mutta toisaalta, juuri eilenhän korvalappustereot ja lerput olit kuuminta hottia ikinä.

Yoko Tsuno käyttää ”mikrotietokonetta” ja tietoa on tallennettu ”korpuille”. Tarina on vuodelta 1984 eikä vanhentunut tekniikka haittaa lukukokemusta. Luin tämän nyt ensimmäistä kertaa.

Vuonna 1984 alun perin päivänvalon nähnyt Yoko Tsuno -albumi "Odinin tuli" (Egmont, 2019) julkaistiin vasta nyt suomeksi. Saksaan sijoittuvassa seikkailussa yritetään päästä eroon kuolemansäteestä, jonka kannoilla ovat myös pahansuovat tahot.
Sarjakuva noudattaa kaikkien aiempien albumien kaavaa, eli piirrosjälki on hienoa etenkin autojen, laivojen ja teknisten vempeleiden tapauksessa, mutta tarina on hieman kömpelö. Teknologia on ihan silkkaa kasaria korpuilla toimivine tietokoneohjelmineen ja korvalappustereoineen.
Sarjakuva noudattaa kaikkien aiempien albumien kaavaa, eli piirrosjälki on hienoa etenkin autojen, laivojen ja teknisten vempeleiden tapauksessa, mutta tarina on hieman kömpelö. Teknologia on ihan silkkaa kasaria korpuilla toimivine tietokoneohjelmineen ja korvalappustereoineen.

Yoko, Vic, Pol et Ingrid sont impliqués dans une histoire où ils devront créer une arme de destruction impitoyable à base de ... foudre.
Arme qui conduira quand même un homme à la mort. (Ce n'est pas la 1ère fois que la mort frappe autour des actions de Yoko). Un des défauts de Yoko est mis en avant: foncer avant de réfléchir. Ici, elle était à un cheveux de finir grillée.

Suomennettu yksi vähän vanhempi Yokon seikkailu, mukavaa niin pääsi lukemaan! Edelleen tosin numerointijärjestys hämmentää. Nämä maan päälle osuvat seikkailut vanhentuneine korvalappustereoineen ovat kuitenkin edelleen suosikkejani.
