Zoe's Rescue Zoo #11

The Sleepy Snowy Owl

Rate this book
When Great-Uncle Horace brings back lost and homeless animals from his travels around the globe, it falls to Zoe, and her mum, the zoo vet, to settle them into their new home. She’s good at this, because she can understand what they say and talk to them, too. But that’s a secret!

Oscar is a very sleepy snowy owl. He can’t keep his eyes open during the day so he’s missing all the fun. Can Zoe come up with a nighttime surprise to keep the little owl happy?

115 pages. I read 24 pages - only first chapter. What a LONG chapter it was!!! Good so far…A girl finds an egg from a snowy owl and tries to help it hatch. I think this would be a good series for girls. Recommended for Grades 2-4. I will try to read the rest soon…

Sweet story for 6 - 8 year olds about a young girl Zoe who lives at a Rescue Zoo with her mum who is the vet and Great Uncle Horace who owns the zoo and travels the world rescuing animals. She finds a creamy white egg under a bush when out for a walk and they bring it back to the zoo. The egg is a Snowy Owl egg and she helps to take care of the egg and the young owl. It is a well written book illustrating the importance of wildlife with lovely illustrations, helping to tell the story. Zoe can talk to the animals at the zoo and she helps the young Snowy Owl find out who he is - a day time or night time owl and also with the New Year’s Eve festivities.
