What can I say other than this is a brilliant story? The incredibly rich world Maree introduced us to in book 1 shoots into an even greater realm of existence with the Reapers. This is a book packed with great descriptions, utterly believable characters, and a driving atmosphere that really packs a punch.

As soon as I picked it up, I was hooked. The first page threw me headfirst into a completely engaging story, with a great new protagonist in Jordon. Having him as a narrator this time is a refr

The Reapers is a story that surrounds My Demonic Ghost essentially. We learn more about the Reapers, Hunters and the Deadly Sins in this installment of the series.

Jordan Hastings human life has ended, but his trouble has just begun. He is now a reaper, a lost spirit condemned to collect the spirits of humans right at the time of their death. He struggles with this even tries to ignore it to an extent at the start. Continuing to live with his family until a shadow begins stalking them through Jor

To rule out any doubt, I will start by saying that I liked the book. Very much. It is a worth reading book.

The Reapers is the second volume of the My Demonic Ghost series and, being forced to skip the first volume, I was nervous that I'll need some information from the previous book to feel the story in full. That was not the case; The Reapers does not need any leverage. It is a great stand alone story, well-knitted, motivated and fine drive
I had the opportunity to read MY DEMONIC GHOST first before reading The Reapers. And really...I recommend it. While you won't be lost while reading The Reapers, I think the story is more powerful after you've read MY DEMONIC GHOST. I was envisioning reading them in opposite order and this way was much more powerful and emotional!

In MY DEMONIC GHOST you are introduced to the Banished, the Reapers, the Hunters, the Royals, etc. and come to the harsh realization that the afterlife is nothing more t

Although this is a series you do not have to read the first book to understand the second. Surprisingly, although they are related, they are completely different. The second book answers some questions from the first. I'm curious how these would work out of order because in book one, My Demonic Ghost, I had so many questions that I may have enjoyed it even more having these answers right at the gate.

The really interesting thing here is that this story is told from a completely different perspect

What I liked: We learn more about the world that surrounded the characters in My Demonic Ghost, and we learnt more about why certain things happened and how they happened during around the same time span as the first book. I liked how you get enough information to not be lost if this is the book you picked up first, but that there was a lot more understanding for a reader who read My Demonic Ghost beforehand as it answers some of the questions we were left wondering at the end of book one. Last year I did an adopt an author event and came across Jacinta Maree and her book 'My Demonic Ghost' I seriously fell in love with the book! I then got to know her during the month I had her as my adoptive author! (Was so much fun by the way!) And I fell in love with her too! She's one of the sweetest, kindest people out there. I don't often get a chance to rave about the authors I get to know, it's usually just their books. But I wanted to take a moment and let everyone know this lady is awes ...more

Book two of My Demonic Ghost. There was some unanswered questions I had after finishing book one. This book answers some of the questions and loose ends of Locks story. The inside story to what happened to Locks brother, Jordon. And how he becomes a Reaper. His story goes more in detail of what really happens as a Reaper and their purpose. Wonderful book and just as warped as the first. Reapers have Goons as pets. A strange Demonic pet mixed up between animals souls but more powerful. They make ...more

In this installment, we have some reoccurring characters from Banished Spirits but it is, essentially, a whole different story. Jordan is an eighteen year old reaper who is not all that thrilled with his new "career"... He is starting to begrudgingly accept his fate when a new friend, Raix arrives and makes everything all the more difficult.

The Reapers is a considerably different but equally fabulous read from Jacinta Maree. While it has shared characters of book one, Banished Spirits, the book has a different setting and a different feel to it. The books has oodles of palpable tension, enough suspense to keep the reader gripping tightly to their Kindle or paperback and is laced with quick-witted dialogue to keep us thoroughly entertained.

This book was awesome. Exciting, fast paced and full of twists and turns, I was fully immersed in the world of Reapers, Hunters, Royals, Banished and Hosts.

I loved how this book took place before and during the events of book 1, because it added to the story by clearing up some of the questions I had whilst reading the first book. It also gave me a chance to see a different side of Evan/Lock, and how and why he became a Banished.

It was interesting to see things from a Reapers perspective, becaus

The second instalment in the My Demonic Ghosts series, this book continues to take us through troubled and distressed demonic elements. In this story, we meet Jordan, a reaper. Assigned with the task of collecting human spirits at the moment of their deaths, Jordan leads a miserable life, with a lot of internal conflicts and turmoils. To add to his woes, he realises that the pet wolf he has been given, is having a l

The Reapers is am amazing book. I grew to love all the characters(even if I didn't realize it until they were pushed down or got hurt and I wanted to hunt down whoever hurt them. XD )
This an interesting point of view of a character belonging to the reapers who was see as a bad group in My Demonic Ghost. Reading my Demonic Ghost, everyone was bad and against the banished, but reading the Reapers it was interesting to see who was the bad guy in their eyes.
The Reapers is action, horror, and fantas

Wonderful characters and storyline! Must read!!

I am quite taken aback by this book, the characters and the author. Jacinta has a remarkable talent to weave the story and characters around you so tightly that you don't want the book to end.........ever!!! I had a few queries after the first one, well a few blank spaces actually, but the small pieces that were missing have been cleverly filled in. I'm becoming more and more intrigued with this story. It's original and so beautifully written that I

I really enjoyed the plot and the story line to this book. Its centered around Reapers which is a big fascination of mine. Loved the unique plot of this book two in the series. It was quite fascinating.

Jordon has such an interesting inner struggle about what his duty is and what is right. Reading about it and how Jordon struggles with which is the best choice to make was amazing.A very character indeed.

Although this is the second installment of the My Demonic Ghost series, The Reapers can be read as a stand-alone novel without any problem. This story is told from the point of view of newbie Reaper Jordan, Evan’s step-brother, who went missing in the previous book. This book was sort of like a behind the scenes telling of what was going on when we were reading about Evan in the first book. It was very insightful and I had a better understanding of what was going on during My Demonic Gh

The second installment in Jacinta Maree's My Demonic Ghost series, The Reapers is just as captivating as book one. The Reapers is set before and during Banished Spirits, and in this book, we follow Jordon and his journey as a Reaper. In this book we get a bigger view of the incredible world Maree has created. I was quite sad when I found out who Jordon was and how he related to Lock. Jordon finds it difficult to assimilate to his new life and drifts through his previous life. His demon wolf, Rai ...more

Not alive and yet not entirely dead, he walks a fine line between the world of the living and the world of spirits. In one, he is an ordinary teenager, in the other he is a Reaper bound to deliver souls to the Drop Off. When the struggle between his two halves puts those he loves a risk, he has to make a choice. This is a very, very different and very, very unique book. Maree's originality is incredible.

The Reapers is set before, during and after the first book, My Demonic Ghost- The Banished Spirits. We are introduced to a new character, Jordon Hastings just as his life is coming to an end. Instead of his spirit being released from his body, Jordon is awoken completely unharmed as if nothing had happened to him at all.
That's when things start getting really weird and scary.

The Reapers is the second book in the My Demonic Ghost series. Though I don't think you have to read book one to enjoy this book, I highly recommend it. There are times when I think the reader might be confused without reading book one. My favorite part of this novel is the overall dark feel, the evil, and the suspense.

Main character Jordon is quite intriguing. It's strange to be able to relate to a person who is dead. Yet Jord

Jordan is a new Reaper and he really isn’t happy in the role, kind of lost and wanting his old life back. As he slowly accepts who he is, he redefines the Reaper’s world by his rules. Family loyalty way after death stays with him and makes a big difference in the way he does things. Follow Jordan as he tries to handle what has happened to himself and others that he cares for without getting completely lost. Will he manage to disrupt life as everyone knows it or will he settle into his new role?

I love the unique world Jacinta Maree creates in this series. The Reapers keeps your attention throughout the whole book, is very descriptive and will leave you wanting more. There were so many twists that you never knew what Jordon's fate was going to be. He was definitely a strong, main character who would do anything for the people he cared about. I loved the growth he had in the book. He had a hard journey from the beginning but he learned from his mistakes, took in the knowledge from the pe ...more

In the second instalment of Jacinta's My Demonic Ghost series, we find out all about the Reapers and Goons. We discover how Betrayal came to be called Betrayal, and how Evan died. I just love the Goons! I want my own Goon! Baby Raix! The writing is descriptive and the world building is fantastic and rich. You feel like you are actually there.

One of my friends recently recommended the "My Demonic Ghost" series to me, after I had spent weeks trying to suss out my next big horror read. I was not disappointed!
Maree adds an interesting spin on what happens to the human soul after death, and takes us on a wild ride through a rich world full of reapers, goons and demons.
Definitely pick up this series, you will not be disappointed!
