Informative and easy to read with its concise captions. Lots of illustrations, though the History stops at the American Civil War and Crimean War, probably saving the more modern and mechanized wars for a later volume. While that is understood, there should be a section on the Anglo-Afghan wars, the Boer War and other colonial conflicts as these also contributed to asymmetrical warfare concepts like guerilla and commando tactics.

It's a time travel back in history. Great illustration and brief write up on each war. Don't expect any details. Enough to know what, why and where. Ideal coffee table book.
