The Bible History Atlas , intended for young readers, tells the full story of the Bible from Genesis to Acts with the addition of beautiful watercolor maps and illustrations. The 96 maps in this atlas of the Bible are enhanced by a text and study notes written by the renowned British biblical scholar, F. F. Bruce. The Bible History Atlas is not only a useful reference for finding places mentioned in the Bible, but also a marvelously well-written summary of the key events of biblical history.
Frederick Fyvie Bruce FBA was a Biblical scholar who supported the historical reliability of the New Testament. His first book, The New Testament Documents: Are They Reliable? (1943), was voted by the American evangelical periodical Christianity Today in 2006 as one of the top 50 books "which had shaped evangelicals".
This is an excellent, short Bible history atlas aimed at young readers, though I don't know why it should be limited to the young. It's a very good and succinct summary of Bible history from creation to the Jewish revolt under Simeon Bar-Kokhba in AD 132. The narrative is easy to read and clear which is a big plus in my opinion. Oh, that other biblical scholars were so clear.
The atlas is especially good on the intertestamental period which is so unfamiliar to most Christians.
My only complaint is that the maps and charts are not actual maps and charts, they are idealized. I assume this is because they thought this would appeal to the young more. I prefer actual maps and charts over these.
