“When you’re around, you’re all I can see”
“Someday, my prince will come.”

Danny is an artist, and he has the best job in the world. He gets to create beautiful things at the bakery his best friend owns. The only thing that would make life better is finding his own personal Prince Charming, but despite a life-long addiction to happily-ever-after, he doesn’t really hold out much hope for that. He’d rather be alone than compromise who he is for men who are only interested if he tones down his flamboyant personality.

“Someday, I’ll find a better life."

Mace learned to protect himself while growing up in a harsh foster care system. Serving an unjust prison sentence taught him even more valuable life lessons. Don’t let your feelings show. Trusting people only gets you hurt. It’s okay to want things, but don’t expect to hold onto them. Now that he’s out, Mace keeps to himself, quietly enjoying the work he’s found caring for beautiful things while he saves for a better life. Even if he has no idea what that will actually look like.

“It’s you. My better life is you."

When Danny bursts into Mace’s life, the beautiful man has him questioning everything life has taught him, from his sexuality to the wisdom of trusting someone with his heart. Danny makes him want things he’s not sure he believes in, and when a series of local robberies lead to his arrest, his faith in what’s possible is put to the test.

Someday is a steamy, standalone gay romance novel with a HEA and no cliffhangers.

Ohhhh, I LOVED this one... Such amazing characters, a sweet simple plot, and amazing secondary characters to entertain. A great book, and an auto-buy author added to my list...

I'm reviewing the updated version published September 2019.

This is very much a feel-good story; if you're allergic to Insta Love, skip this one. Danny and Mace were ridiculously cute together, and the sexy times were fairly hot.

Mace's refusal to defend himself against something he didn't do wasn't fully believable, despite how it was spinned. I also didn't love the "Danny being attacked by the creeps in the park" story line; what purpose did that serve?

My main issue: bi erasure. Mace was bi, perhaps demi or pan; he was with one woman previously because it was convenient, but he felt more desire for Danny. His sexuality wasn't explored at all, and the word "bisexual" wasn't mentioned. Not cool.

Nope.
Honestamente no puedo recomendarlo.

Re-read June 2020
I was in the mood to re-read this lovely low-angst series.

---------------------

A very sweet story. Not too deep, but very enjoyable nonetheless.

Danny is working in his best friend's bakeryand loves to decorate cookies and makes them into a work of art.

description

He has been told by several ex-boyfriends that he needs to 'tone it down'. But Danny doesn't want to tone anything down, so he just stays single since he can't seem to find his prince charming.

But that is until he meets hunky gardener Mace. Danny can't help but going back to the park on his lunch break so he might run in to the hot gardener again. But he didn't expect to get into a situation where he needs rescuing, and where Mace saves him.

After their encounter they become friends and Mace walks Danny home after work every night to make sure Danny is safe.

But Mace is convinced Danny is dating the owner if the bakery and Danny is convinced Mace is straight...

I really liked how Mace constantly told Danny he was perfect the way he was. He didn't need to tone down anything. He could be as fabulous as he wanted to be.
I did get frustrated with Mace a few times (like when he ), but overall it was very sweet and perfect for a sunny Sunday afternoon in the garden.

(There wasn't a lot of steam, but we did get a sexy scene at the end.)

This was so sweet and cute and it was just what I needed after the crappy reads I've had lately.

Danny is a cookie decorator...really he's an artist. Mace has moved to town to start over and works with plants for the city. The two spy each other in the park one day and it's on from there. After a few misunderstandings...like is Mace really gay and does Danny have a boyfriend, the two get their happy ending they both deserve.

I really enjoyed this low angst read. Danny was so cute. I enjoyed his character and I really appreciated how he believed in Mace when no one else did.

I loved Mace. He was perfect. I liked the fact he didn't hesitate to be in relationship with Danny when given the opportunity and he didn't question his sexuality when, up until then, he'd never been with another guy. And oh man, did he say the sweetest things to Danny. My heart just melted and I was swooning just about the whole damn time.
“How can you always see me so well?”~Danny “Because when you’re around, Danny, you’re all I can see.”~Mace

"You take everything I had before and make it into something better.”~Mace

“That’s the thing. I keep waiting to wake up.” Mace gave him that slow smile that always made him want to melt. “If you do, I want to wake up next to you.”~Mace

Did I mention Mace was perfect??

I'm looking forward to the rest in the series.

It has only taken two Sierra Riley books for me to realise she might be my new go-to supplier of guaranteed M/M fluff. I mean, this stuff is never going to win any awards for literary greatness, but I’ll be damned if it isn’t the most addictive easy reading I’ve encountered in months.

Danny is a Disney quoting, happy-go-lucky artist, who works in his best friend’s bakery decorating beautiful tasty treats. He encapsulates the three B’s: babbling, bubbly and bouncy. In one word, he’s adorable.

Mace grew up in the tough foster care system and has recently been released from prison after serving a sentence for a crime he didn’t commit. He now works as a gardener in a job he luckily loves, but he also keeps to himself, making him lonely and longing for a "someday" he’s not sure how to obtain.

When Danny and Mace first lay eyes on one another a spark is ignited in both men. Danny is in immediate lust with the gorgeous but reticent gardener, and Mace finds himself instantly enthralled by Danny’s everything.

“Danny was so fucking beautiful it almost hurt, and not just outside— although definitely that— but with an inner light that spilled out with his every word, every gesture, as if there was an endless well of optimism inside him that couldn’t be contained.”

I adored the love these two men felt for one another. I didn’t even mind all the silly misunderstandings (due to lack of communication) that purposefully extended the slow-burn romance. Their romance was sweet and largely uncomplicated, filled with smile inducing awkward moments and sappy (but romantic) dialogue.

This won’t be for everyone - some readers might find this story to be too sugary, too light, too sappy. For me, that’s exactly what my mood called for, so it worked for me. I enjoyed the hell out of this delightfully sweet romance and will definitely be revisiting Riley’s stories when the same mood strikes.

OMG. I originally gave this book 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟. I have now dropped it to 🌟 and I will tell you why. Before anyone wants to complain I am bashing the author, no I am not. Go look at #writingcommunity on Twitter. According to them anyone who leaves a 🌟 review needs to leave a dissertation on why. So that's what I am gonna do.

First why I originally gave it 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟. It's a fluffy, feel good, easy read which I need on bad days. Danny is an artist who decorates cookies in a bakery and Made is an ex con who grew up in foster care. Danny has always been out while Mace has always had to hide. First growing up in foster care then in prison it was safer. Now he can relax and love who he wants which is Danny. It was sweet, low angst and heartwarming.

Now for why I dropped it to 🌟. I would actually give it negative 🌟 if possible. A book with the same name by a different author showed up on my recommended for you shelf. When I read the blurb it seemed familiar so I used KU. I was shocked when I realized I had read it before years ago under a different name. Not only had I read it I bought the series years ago. I spent two days downloading both sets and taking screenshots. Was this yet another instance of plagiarism? A ghostwriting selling the same story to two people? It never occurred to me it was the same author. I understand the need for pen names to protect the privacy of your family, due to a day job, or to write in different genres. But to use multiple names to release the same book. To me that is just a scammy way to steal from readers. Like I said I already bought the series under this name. Since it was released with a new name and cover Amazon does not flag it as already bought. The fact it is a re release u see a different name is not mentioned prominently. I did finally find it in the last line where the content warnings usually go. I don't read those. In all my other books when the author re releases with a new cover it is mentioned as the first line in the description. Not buried as the last line in a section that a lot of people don't read. I find content warnings to be spoilers so I don't read them.

You may not agree with me but to use multiple names and cover art to release the same book is stealing. At $5 a book with 7 books that's $35 for one set. If you buy under both names that's $70. I don't know about you but I can't afford to buy duplicates. I like the fact Amazon tells me when I bought a book if I try to re buy. They can't do that if the person releasing it plays games.

This person has lost the title Author as far as I am concerned and earned the title scammer. I will no longer buy Sierra Riley or Stella Sterling books. Which is too bad because I really enjoy the stories this person writes. I am going to keep this series and re read because I am not a moron that burns something I own out of spite. I just will not e rich a scammer.

Simply easy reading.

Danny is a bit flighty and a lot scattered, but it’s only because he’s so caught up in his art that all other things seem inconsequential. Despite his bright personality and infallible optimism, he’s been very unlucky in love.

Mace has had it rough in life, betrayed by those who should’ve cared for him most, he took the fall for a crime he didn’t commit. He never wants to be that vulnerable again - love and trust are fleeting and unreliable. However, that all changes of course, when he meets Danny, who’s like a breath of fresh air. Mace automatically gravitates towards him as they share a love of all things aesthetic.

There’s a lot of “is he?”, “does he?”, “why can’t he be the one?” - along with doubt and confusion with some mild miscommunication. Despite that, the sweetness factor is high, and the inevitable crisis is handled quite easily. So if you want light romance with very little fuss, be reassured that this fits those requirements quite nicely.

Cute little story. It was Mace's backstory of being in foster care, having friends turn on him, that pulled me deeper into the story. It totally explained by he was so taciturn and closed off and didn't trust anyone. And why a bright and vivacious person like Danny would be so appealing to him. It was great watching Mace start to care and open up like the flowers he loved.

I will be checking out the other books in this series.

Ahhhhhh! I think this is my new favorite book from this author!

I just adored Danny and Mace, I loved all the emotion in this as they were falling for each other. I wanted to give Mace a slap and a hug at the same time haha. Danny is just adorable...forgetful, vibrant, just delightful. And he and Mace were just so sweet together.

Also? Best epilogue EVER.

I think I loved this best because I loved ALL the characters (well. Not Tad obviously) and there wasn't crazy melodrama and "do you like like me" conversations like I have read in other books by this author. Lots of emotion, some inner-angsting, and some sexy times. Just perfect.

Highly recommended! I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Write more stories like this!!

Honestly I want to low ball this BUT sadly I cannot. It’s very fairytale like. Danny even quotes Disney princesses & is the cutest, artsey, most optimistic of twinks. Mac is the misunderstood guy with a past. He’s like a rebel bad boy…except he likes flowers & helping old ladies from the local library. Basically he just looks tough…oh and he’s been to jail but TOTAL misunderstanding.

I’d say 2 but I am rounding this up a whole star because honestly I think it was exactly as advertised. NOT a book for me BUT some people like this type of thing.

I love this couple. Danny and Mace are very themselves in this opposites attract romance

Both Danny and Mace are drawn with such layer and details. Great stuff on plants, Disney flowers, art. They are talented and wonderful.

They both have issues to work through but their relationship shines as they find out more and more about each other and fall in love.

They are steadfast and this romance will leave you warm and fuzzy.

***** Danny worked at the bakery decorating cupcakes and cookies. He's an artist, creative and sweet as the cookies. He's a fem guy, with platinum blonde hair that flopped in his blue/green eyes, and he's lively, bubbly, beautiful inside and out, with an inner core of amazing energy.

*cookies

Mace is a gardener who tends the gorgeous flowers at the local gardens. He's tall, hot and handsome, with a past he'd like to overcome. He's a survivor.

*cupcakes

When the ray of sunshine, Danny, left the gardens after sketching on his break, he left his ear buds behind. Mace found them and was looking for him to return them. Unfortunately their chance meeting came when Danny was being bashed by two men. Mace protected him, and later taught him some self defense moves.

These characters are wonderful, the story interesting, and the sex is steamy. Danny is whimsical and his thoughts turn toward the fairy tale he wished for. Mace hasn't acted on his feelings for Danny, because he wasn't sure what to do. He'd never been with a man before, and has only dreamed of being with Danny. There is a misunderstanding that keeps them apart for a bit, and communication is needed.
This is a delightful tale of GFY romance and deep love. Finding your special someone in a screwed up world There are a few back stories also happening. I loved the scene where Danny used Mace's body as a canvas ! Wow !
Highly recommend this lovely stand alone story.
Great ! Great ! Great ! ENJOY !!!

2.5 *

The characters are extremely innocent. That´s OK for Danny, I could visualize him like that but Mace? Having the difficult life they described is difficult to believe it.

I really liked the treatment of the art sense the both of them have. BUT I HATE, I REALLY HATE the stupid misunderstandings!!!!!Sorry, this is what down totally my punctuation cause we have some BIG ones that causes pain of the other person and are very EASY to solve if they actually SPEAK! I can´t bear that.

The story is cute and light. Perfect for comfort reading ~

ALSO : I want a book about GAVIN. Was my favorite character so far ♥

I have read quite a few of Stella Starling's books and most are pretty good but in all honesty, this one was just ok. It wasn't bad, but just a little bland in my opinion. I found myself skimming towards the end of the book but at least I finished it. I don't know if I am going to go on to the next book or not, maybe if I need something less tense I will.

Danny works in his friends bakery, creating art by decorating cupcakes and cookies. Mace is a gardener working in the city parks, trying to find a new home and a better life after having spent time in prison.
When they get to know each other a couple of misunderstandings and lack of communication makes it difficult to realize that they are actually perfect for each other.
I imagine that in the book "101 writing romance novels for Dummies" this must be the suggested trope in the first chapter, it is incredibly cheesy, sugary sweet, absolutely predictable from beginning to end. Anyone who does not realize who the villain is and what the great showdown towards the end will look like, has probably never read a romance novel in their life!
So if you want something fresh, different or surprising don't even bother to consider this one. On the other hand, of course there is a reason, this will be in the"Dummies" book, because it works (again and again...) After all it is cheesy, sweet and predictable and obviously I am easy to please, because I really enjoyed it - short and fun read, 3 star story for me

Just OK for me.
I really liked Mace but wanted him to talk more...he was always so guarded.
Danny, on the other hand, couldn't stop talking and I found his lack of focus a bit juvenile at times. I mean, how many times can an adult loose their phone, keys, earbuds...
The whole "flower language" thing was a little cheesy, but their chemistry was pretty hot.

I already wrote one review which my Kindle promptly sent into the netherworld, so this one will be short.

I really loved the characters in this story. The MCs, Danny and Mace, were brilliantly brought to life and the supporting cast was supportive and hilarious. The dialogue flowed smoothly. The world creation was beyond great.

The only explanation for NOT rating this 4 stars was...you guessed it - editing mistakes. Not an abundance of them, but enough to derail the plot's flow at crucial moments.

Touching in its heartwarming story, heartbreaking in parts, the author managed to create a vibrant tale of two conflicted men who sort through their pasts to discover what they want.

An ARC was provided free in return for an honest review.

So, I did something I’ve never done before, but after several reviews where I’ve expressed disappointment in a prologue that gives away the mystery of the story, this time I opted to skip it. And what a difference it made. No longer was I annoyed that I knew where the story was going. As a result, the characters bloomed on the pages, instead of feeling flat because I already knew what would happen.

Artistic Danny decorates cookies and cupcakes for his best friend Gavin’s bakery, aptly named Delicious. Danny’s head is often in the clouds, he’s forgetful, but he means well, and his love for Disney princesses (and their quotes) was adorable. He often walks in the nearby park, which is where he first spies Mace, one of the park’s gardeners. Mace has a big heart too, including taking the fall and going to prison for a crime he didn’t commit. It takes some time, but the men connect, and their relationship grows over time.

There’s tension and drama, even a little mystery in the storyline, and it all wraps up for a very sweet ending.

After I was finished the story, I went back and read prologue, and found I didn't miss anything except, again, the giveaway. I’m glad I read the story this way and will continue to do so. The story held its mystery and in my mind improved its rating. And yet it’s still there, so downgrading the star...Stop giving your story away, Ms. Riley, and you might get a five from me yet.

The blurb is self explanatory....

We have two MC's: Danny and Mason (Mace to his friends) polar opposites but each wanting their " SOMEDAY'. Danny wants a partner who will take him like he is: flamboyant , highly expressive, slender and totally "out there gay" and not try to change him. Mace grew up in the foster care system that left much to be desired, and close friendship with two "friends" ,Kelsie and Trevor, in the system that "had his back" or so he believed. He found out the hard way by both their dual betrayal that it "aint so". Somehow, he ended in prison taking the blame for Trevor and Kelsie, his girlfriend, who could not be bothered with "his"issues. Thus, he 's not open for friendship; always waiting for the proverbial shoe to drop.
We are not certain of the details,(poetic license)as this is in a flashback. Oh, I so loved this book. We had angst, several misunderstandings that threaten their fragile friendship and the emerging of long time burial of Mace's gay sexuality. It was a delightful read. This happens to be the best one for me. I like Sierra's writing, her sentence structure and verb usage. However, the only issue I have in reading Sierra is the prologue; thus, I elect not to read it. It soothes my inner dismay at finding the arrival of "that" moment prior to reading the book. Awesome read.!

This is my first book of this author and I have to say I look forward to read more of her books. Her writing it's definitely creative. I loved the Mc's and I want to hear more from Jeremy. Why I'm not giving it 5 stars because I hate to much misunderstandings that's why I don't watch "novelas". We spent half the book going in circles. Also the fast forwarding, instalove annnd I felt the sex scenes a little bit rushed and unfulfilling. That of course didn't kept me from finishing the book and enjoying it.

Loved this one

Beautiful Danny and silent Mace, what a lovely pairing. This was just a nice read without too much angst and although it was a quick fall into love, it didn't feel out of place.
I'd love to read more about these two and discover if Gavin gets his own HEA.
