I like to think that sometime after Cress and Thorne are married Thorne just casually asks why Cress stays with him and she replies sweet and cute like “I love you, why else?” and Thorne just replies with “Well, you know, I always seem to be a thorn in everyone’s side” and laughs at the pun he made

We have the ability to love each other, no matter our differences. To help each other, no matter our weaknesses.

I first came across Cinder by Marissa Meyer in 2012 at a time when I’d been dejectedly hopping from disappointing book to disappointing book in search of a new read that I would actually enjoy. As it goes, I just wasn’t in the mood for another re-read of a book I actually liked. I couldn't quite tell you why this was the case, but I was just at a point where

Easy 4 to 4.5 stars, I loved this series and I usually don't like retelling but this one is an exception.

This gets 3 stars for principle & 2 practice=5.
This is the Star Wars of Fantasy crossed with a tiny dose of sci-fi. Pure entertainment. Put aside expectations aside about what sci-fi or fantasy should be or could be, and just enjoy the ride. This is fable meets future.
This is a fun story if you don't think too hard about it. A pretty great cast of characters that you can get into despite where they fall on the morality spectrum- dark or light. The story is nothing like Star Wars, I should say.

Cinder (The Lunar Chronicles #1) - 4 Stars

Cinder, a gifted mechanic in New Beijing, is also a cyborg. She's reviled by her stepmother and blamed for her stepsister's sudden illness. But when her life becomes entwined with the handsome Prince Kai's, she finds herself at the centre of a violent struggle between the desires of an evil queen - and a dangerous temptation. Cinder is caught between duty and freedom, loyalty and betrayal. Now she must uncover secrets about her mysterious

The Lunar Chronicles is an amazing series that I think most people will love. It follows the story of all your favorite fairy tales like cinderella, rapunzel, and red riding hood with a twist that revamps the story for many generations to come. I personally loved the entire series and can’t pick a favorite book from the series. The author has also made a few side stories that are related to the characters and places in the main series. This series is very attention grabbing and addicting to read ...more

Cinder and Scarlet are alright. Cress is a bore. I lost interest before Winter's release.

The characters have no depth. The world is offensively underdeveloped. The writing isn't good or bad from what I remember. The concept is really interesting though.

I’m going to give these 3 books a 5-star rating as a whole (although Book 2- Scarlet was my absolute FAVE).

I am NOT, however, pleased with the ending of Cress. Are we going to tie up some loose ends here?! 😡

I’m about to start Book 3.5- Fairest so we shall see...

This series was an excellent twist on the classic fairytales readers all know too well. These twists were not only definitively original but also not the main subject as the author entangled the reader in different new content to absolve yourself into.
I loved the first 3 novels a lot but found the last book Winter lacked the precision of the first 3 and faltered the ending slightly. I understand however this might be to replicate Winters own fragmentation and complexity as a character but this e
