What I like best about this guide is that it's divided into city sections, and gives enough details about each site that you can read it while walking around. If you're visiting the Trevi Fountain or St. Peter's Basilica, you can learn about the history of the art, architecture, and designers while you stroll around. It's basically a read-at-your-own leisure guide, unlike others that give you a brief what-it-is of the monument you're looking at. Entire spreads are devoted to "bigger" sites, such as the Coliseum and floorplans for the Vatican Museum.

The day-plan iteneraries can be very helpful for travelers who don't have enough time to pre-plan. Also suggests what times you should arrive at particular sites to avoid traffic.
