This novel was a great addition to the Dragons of Incendium. Cooke has taken an out of this world idea and woven it together with a rewarding reltionship and some quite surprising twists to create a plot that kept me glued to the pages (or thinking about them when I had to get back to work). She left me a little broken inside at times, but the heartbreak was well worth the fantastic tale that I journeyed. Cooke’s world building was perfect. She allowed readers to picture the world and the events ...more

This is a quick but enjoyable novella in The Dragons of Incendium series. This book tells of Nero, an unconventional astrologer, who has traveled to the royal court with a prophecy that may bring war on the kingdom. Armed with the knowledge that may stop a royal wedding he heads to the capital city.
When his prophecy ends up being true, he is granted the position of advisor to the Queen. With this position comes the attention of one of the dragon princesses, Peri. This might just be the start of

Goes down as another off my 2018 Bookworm Bingo Challenge – A book with a dragon in it. Well a dragon shifter but a dragon all the same and one you should be very careful about annoying.

Nero is an astrologer who has figured out what is really going to happen on the wedding day for Dragon Princess Drakina and Prince Cantos of Regalia. His horoscope is a lot different from the others but seems to be the only one accurate. He knows he needs to get a message to the King to let him know that the roya

He’s always aspired to be an astrologer in the royal court of Incendium, but that dream is threatened when he divines a portent about the pending royal marriage and subsequent trip to deliver his tidings that results in his being assigned the task of pursuing a dragon princess bent on taking vengeance upon her reluctant groom.

This story is very short but also very suspenseful and exciting with a delightfully ambitious astrologer who believes in himself but also has a way of acknow

Nero's Dream is book 1.5 in the 'Dragon's of Incendium' series by Deborah Cook. It's a very short story intended to give you more information about things that happen in the main stories, so isn't meant to be read as a stand alone book. That said, I think if you haven't read the first book, it wouldn't matter if you read this one first.

In the first book 'Wyvern's Mate' we read how Princess Drakina's arranged marriage doesn't take place, and her response to being jilted. In Nero's Dream we find o

"Nero's Dream" by Deborah Cooke. Book 2 in the Dragons of Incendium novella series.

This is the first short story in this series. On the website for this series, it is explained that this series will be a number of novellas with short stories released in between each novella. Not to be read as a stand alone story.

This short story (timeline wise) actually happens before the first novella but is meant to be read after it. This story focuses on a man named Nero who is an unaccredited astrologer. Pri

Nero's Dream (The Dragons of Incendium #1.5) by Deborah Cooke is more short story (2 Chapters) than it is a novella. I read it in less than one hour. However, despite its shortest, I thoroughly enjoyed this glimpse into the events that led up to Princess Drakina and Troy’s story in Wyvern’s Mate. The author’s note at the beginning makes it clear that this is exactly what it is supposed to reveal to the reader.

Even with its lack of length Nero, the main character, is fleshed out pretty well. His

A very short, about 34 pages, in which we see how things began with the Royal House of Incendium. Drakina, who we met in book one (Wyvern's Mate), is left at the alter in front of all invited guests and dignitaries. Nero has arrived in order to give his prophecy in hopes of stopping this event, but because he is not an officially trained astrologer, he is turned away. As he leaves the palace, his prophecy comes to pass and he is sent to bare witness to Princess Drakina's vengeance against her mi ...more

Through the eyes of a wannabe astrologer, Nero, an event that happened before "Wyvern's Mate" is clarified and explained. It is perfectly logical to read after "Mate" as the event was mentioned as a defining moment for Princess Drakina in that book. We get the back story of exactly why Princess Drakina reacted as she did when she was left at the altar by her cowardly betrothed. It also sets up the story of one of Drakina's 11 sisters as well as the astrologer Nero. This novella is, as is always ...more

Nero's Dream is about a astrologer who wants to be part of the Royal Court of Incendium, whose prophecy has predicted that Prince Canto will die and when he arrives to the castle he is unable to show his prophecy since it is Prince Canto and Princess Drakina wedding day. Just after he arrives pandemonium breaks out and he is enlisted to follow princess Drakina to Regalia and there he sees princess Drakina's revenge. What Drakina does to Canto is mentioned in Wyvern's Mate. I am glad to find out ...more

This was an entertaining, well-written book. Nero, who aspires to be an astrologer in the royal court of Incendium, travels to the capital city with an urgent reading. He is not allowed to present his tidings in time and is assigned to pursue the dragon princess, who is set on taking vengeance on her errant groom-to-be. Then he meets the princess Peri... This is a short novella set about the same time as book one. I can't see how it could have been added to the first, but it definitely doesn't come after.
Nero of Mola is an astrologer who has seen a big problem around the upcoming wedding of one of the royal princesses. He has travelled a long way, now he must find a way to deliver his findings.
A fun way to give us a lovely new character. I can't wait to see what happens to him. I'm going straight into the next book.

This book is a lot like the cookies you sneak off the plate waiting for suppertime. A short story in the Dragons of Incendium between the first and second books, the story give you a glimpse of a key moment in time for the dragon princesses of Incendium. It should be read as part of the series to get the full effect and leaves you anxious for the next book in the series. I received a copy of this story from the author in exchange for an honest review.
