Addy Croft has always been the loyal, dutiful daughter to the Shifter Clan Leader who was her adoptive father. I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This is book 5 in Becca Fanning's Big Paw Security series. This is a short story. Addy, the adopted, human daughter of an Alpha bear, is sent to a rival clan to negotiate a business merger. There is an attempt to assassinate her before she can reach the meeting. Only the quick actions of Marcus, the nephew to the rival Alpha, saves her life. Together Addy and Marcus must unravel the threads of a conspiracy that could sink the merger before it can get started.
My problem with this story is the fact that it is a short story. I wish she had fleshed it out just a little more. She touches on possible bad feelings, or something bad that happened in some of the characters pasts, but does not elaborate on them. Having not read any of the other books at the time of this review, I can only assume that these events happened in previous stories. With out some type of reference to these events, even a couple of lines of explanation, I feel it breaks the continuity of the series. I, personally, need those back stories explained to me, to make the story more enjoyable.
Overall,, it was a quick easy read, and I did like the premise. I just wish it had been longer.

At first I thought maybe he was there for alternative meaning. (Good twist of underlying suspense).

Addison is the Clan Leader’s adopted daughter and is his most trusted advisor. He is sending her to broker a deal between their Clan and another. Addison finds herself caught in the midst of an inner Clan war with one side wanting to move forward in human society and the other hating the sight of humans. Marcus, the Alpha’s nephew, meets her at the airport when they are attacked.
Addison is attracted to Marcus, but feels she must place the needs of her Clan above her own. Marcus is beginning to see placing the needs of the Clan first have made him very unhappy, especially considering the happy couples around him. Addison and Marcus must decide what they will do, if they live through the assassination attempts.

Addy is assigned to visit a clan on behalf of her father to see if she can convince Joe the other Clan leader to work with him to join forces. Addy is not a shifter but her father took her in so she does whatever she can to help the clan. When Marcus the nephew of the clan leader Joe picks her up from the airport they are run off the road by clan members who don't want the merger. Addy is injured and Marcus takes her to hide out and wait for the doctor to patch her up, and they decide to confront his uncle at headquarters where they should be safe. Marcus confronts his uncle and all hell breaks loose but can Addy and Marcus convince him and the elders to see the light? Quick story but I really enjoyed it

Marcus is off to the airport to meet Addy but has a feeling the day is not going to be good even though he is definitely attracted to her. Neither of them realises as they leave the airport that all hell is going to break loose.
Lovely story of how other may be planning your downfall but it is possible to work together and come out of it with the right solution. If that means you also find your HEA so much the better.

I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Addy has been sent to work on an alliance for her clan and adoptive father, the clan leader. Marcus is sent to pick Addy up fro. the airport and bring her to his clan headquarters and uncle, the clan leader. Little did either realize the storm that was brewing and the people sent to kill Addy. Now the two fight to survive and overthrow the narrow minded leaders of his clan to come out on the other side.

Work Isn't The End All
This is a quick read about a young woman who is willing to do anything for her father and their clan. While doing a job for her father, she meets a young man who has learned that there is more to life than working for the clan. They find their lives in danger due to his clan trying to keep her from doing what she was sent to do. This is an entertaining read. Enjoy I did.

I have to say this was a really good read. It was a really short story but I enjoyed it from begging to end. Anyone looking for a quick read with a HEA ending this is the book for you. Thank you Becca for giving us another awesome book.

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review, and honestly... if you're a fan of paranormal/shifter romance that is well-written, easy to read, has great characters which all leads to love and a HEA, then Bearly Apart by Becca Fanning is what you need.

Interesting read. I have enjoyed the series thus far.

Kindle Unlimited, bio says enjoys writing 'smut', this was not smut, it was trash; no real plot, no character development, cardboard characters, fill in the blank {bad} stories, 70's porn music in the background fighting with wannabe 50 shades of grey and twilight nonsense. 'Romance' is not graphic sexual situations, and especially not those that are as graphically detailed out, for lack of anything actual worthwhile to put in to the 'story'. For actual writers usually list other books; for this type just name 'writer' Becca Fanning not bloody likely, will take the time to rate all the trash out though.
