"The Surgeon General's Medical Reference Manual is intended as a basic source of medical information for Starship crewmembers". The Manual has the following main sections: Historical, Medical, Life Sciences, First Aid and Equipment.
Not comprehensive, by any means, but includes diagrams, linnean classifications, etc.
I wouldn't care to undertake the treatment of any of the creatures listed without more detail as to allergies, common diseases, etc. What if the problem was a simple mineral deficiency, but the reference didn't include lists of essential trace minerals?
A tad sloppy, but perhaps a good introductory book for a child considering a career in Starfleet Medical.
