As a doctor in Star Fleet, this was the essential textbook.
Now out of print, it's one of my prized possessions.
Very well written.

Was just curious on how creative the authors could be. Hungered for more, still.

My copy is blue, with silver title and caduceus.

Not comprehensive, by any means, but includes diagrams, linnean classifications, etc.

I wouldn't care to undertake the treatment of any of the creatures listed without more detail as to allergies, common diseases, etc. What if the problem was a simple mineral deficiency, but the reference didn't include lists of essential trace minerals?

A tad sloppy, but perhaps a good introductory book for a child considering a career in Starfleet Medical.
