This series started off a little bit rocky for me but has become more and more solid with each book. I really enjoyed the second book, The Eagle, and almost wish that this one, The Society, was longer! I don't really feel like it answers any questions for me but just added on a lot of extra information. Don't worry though, there's still plenty of action, mystery and suspense to go along with it!
I'm warming up the the relationship more so now too between Huntley and Lorenzo. This is first book where I'm actually understanding and believing her reasoning, feelings and emotions as they relate to the King of Montrovia.
Between conspiracy theories, assassinations, spies, secret societies, sex trafficking, and uncovering the mystery surrounding her mothers death, Huntley really delivers in this novel. This is e kind of stuff I expected from this series and it's such a joy to read!
For some reason, I expected this to be the last book in the series, so I was a little worried about all of the questions I didn't didn't have answers to or the loose ends that needed to be tied. But then Jillian goes and throws in a pretty decent cliffhanger (and by that I mean damn, I hanging here!), which I then had to immediately check on the next book. Of course, there's more books - I'm actually really excited for this - and the story will continue with book 4, The Valiant, in March, 2018. Do you think if I ask nicely, it'll come sooner? Because I really don't think I can wait that long.
Stay tuned for Huntley, Ari, Intrepid and Lorenzo to continue unraveling these mysteries and to do so while staying out of harms way. After reading The Society (and with that ending!), I can't wait to see where their story goes next!

The deeper I get into this series the more exciting it is to read. This picks up right where we left off at the end of The Eagle.
The connection between Hartley and Lorenzo seems to be growing more each day. What girl wouldn’t want to fall in love with and marry a handsome prince right? Fortunately Hartley is more level headed about entertaining this idea but she is definitely developing deep feelings for Lorenzo.
Hartley unravels a lot of information about her past and she discovers some secrets about her childhood, with some shocking revelations about her parents.
Then OMG her mission! To say I was gob smacked would be an understatement, I had to go back and re-read what happened with her target – I have never read anything like that in a book before!
Whilst a lot of things are revealed in this story, a whole lot more questions are being added too which I love because it makes this such a thrilling reading experience.
And then just when I least expected it - BOOM I got slapped with an epic, ‘holy shit’ cliffhanger!

The Society (Spy Girl #3) by Jillian Dodd
4.5 stars!!!
This series is so addictive and Jillian Dodd delivers another action-packed instalment that will have the reader sitting on the edge of their seat. This series has just gone from strength to strength and as this intriguing plot unravels in each instalment, you cannot wait to read what comes next. Each page, each sentence and each word cannot come quick enough and after this ending I am desperately awaiting book 4, The Valiant. This is such a different side to Jillian Dodd, yes, her trademark fashion and cute boys are ever present, but the suspense and intrigue and the complexity of the plot has this series standing on its own podium.
This series, as I have said before, is a cross between James Bond, Spy Kids and Nancy Drew. Where the constant struggle is good versus evil all the while desperately investigating the past. Who is good and who is bad? Who can be trusted? Is anyone who or what they seem?
Huntley Von Allister receives another mission and this one is tougher and darker than any of the preceding ones. Jillian Dodd makes this instalment more edgy, a little darker while still uplifting the reader with Huntley’s downtime. The threat against Lorenzo is still real and Huntley is battling her emotional connection towards him. Huntley and Lorenzo together though are a force to be reckoned with and being that the only people that these two really trust, are each other, their connection only strengthens in this book.
The past is still veiled in secrets and lies and Huntley and her brother, Ari, are still trying to determine their parentage and how they ended up in the situation that they now find themselves in. It is this part of this series that really has my curiosity piqued and while we get a lot of answers in this instalment, a lot more questions are raised. Jillian Dodd has really captured the theme of this series and snowballed that character connection with each instalment. Even though Huntley is only nineteen and at times she shows it, it is when the shit hits the fan that she really comes into her own and seems wise beyond her years.
I am desperate for the next book. This book is definitely no filler and was by far the most action packed and one of my favourites of the series. The latest attempt on Lorenzo may have far reaching consequences for so many people and I sincerely hope that nothing is as it seems. This series is incredibly plot driven and the pain staking time that Jillian Dodd must have put into this to bring it to fruition is abundantly apparent. Simply adore this series. Bring on The Valiant.

This series is going from strength to strength!
From a more relaxed affair to date, this story takes on a darker and an edgier feel to it as Huntley finds herself placed in more danger than even she could have imagined. It’s hard to believe that she is only 19 at times as she fights to find out just exactly who and her brother, Ari, really are and why someone kept them apart for so many years. Each new revelation brings about yet more mystery and intrigue as Huntley finds herself wondering why she was trained to become who she is today.
This instalment was mostly set in and around London with some of the most notable sporting and high society events attended by Huntley, from tennis at Queen’s to horse racing at Royal Ascot, Huntley finds herself dressing more and more like a princess than even she could have ever imagined. Jillian Dodd has a flair for adding fascinatingly descriptive styles which are an added reward to her devoted fashionista readers. From high society, Huntley soon finds herself in a depraved situation as she goes undercover to find out who is funding The Priest’s mission.
Huntley continues to be torn over her feelings for Lorenzo who doesn’t have time on his hands as he needs to announce his engagement within weeks. Huntley fights against her training and starts to form a deeper emotional bond to Lorenzo but is it enough for her to give up her mission and to become his Queen? Lorenzo is a really sweet and endearing character and I hope he stays that way but with so many complexities to this storyline, you really don’t know who to trust.
Daniel continues to fawn over Huntley and in doing so pushes Lorenzo’s buttons as far as he can. Now the President’s son, Daniel has his own problems which seem to be culminating with the part he will play in the Olympics, due to be held in Montrovia. So I guess that’s where we’re heading next but will we? This instalment ends on a massive cliff hanger as readers are left wondering who will survive the latest attack on Lorenzo.
This has to be the most complex and fascinating book in the series so far. The multiple facets to the story are thought provoking and challenging to readers as we, like Huntley, try to guess just who is behind the attacks. Who can Huntley trust with her secrets enough to keep her safe? Jillian Dodd has done a wonderful job of developing such a complex and rewarding storyline and I just hope she can continue to do it justice. It’s got to be hard to improve on an already exceptional storyline.

The Society is by far my favorite book in the Spy Girl Series so far, and I am on pins and needles waiting for book 4 to release!
Picking right up where The Eagle ended, Ari and Huntley are slowly finding answers to who they are and are left with more questions. They realize so many things about their past and how their past may just be the key to everything that is going on and how they may be the key to all of the missions they are being sent on. The new mission Huntley is sent on in this book is even more dangerous than the previous ones, and the stakes are even higher, but at least she gets some down time and is able to get some answers as well.
This book gives us a few answers as well, but we still do not know who/what Black X is, who can be trusted and who can’t. I do love seeing Huntley start to trust some people, but I’m not sure that everyone she has started to trust, other than Ari, is on the up and up. I want to believe she has chosen correctly, but I have a sneaky suspicion that someone in the circle she has decided to trust is going to end up betraying her in the most awful way.
We also in this book get to see a little bit more romance between Lorenzo and Huntley and even though she was told over and over again to not get feelings, I think (or I hope) that her allowing herself to finally have feelings for someone is a good thing. She can’t always focus on her job, and having Lorenzo around is a good thing for her. He treats her like a queen and understands who and what she is, and doesn’t push her to quit being who she is and respects what/who she is.
I refuse to give out any information on what happens in this book, but I will say that the mission Huntley goes on is disturbing and my heart broke for her and I felt all the rage she felt when she was there. I had no problems with what she did, and I was glad she did what she did to the man, as he deserved everything that he got. All I know is we are now left with more questions and what is next for Ari and Huntley, the super spies and how they are going to figure out this crazy conspiracy and save everyone, especially with how this book ended.
I highly recommend the Spy Girl Series, but you do need to start from the beginning, but each book is amazing and continues to get better and better. Now I have to wait for the next book to get more answers. I adore this series and I really hope we finally get the answers I know all of the fans of this series are waiting for!

Starting where we left off in the Eagle the pace of this book is spot on and while the mood has been somewhat light in previous books The Society digs into some much darker issues. Not to mention our beloved heroine Huntley is in a bit of an emotional crisis - mainly because she has all these emotions and reactions to situations and she was trained not to be emotional, not to make emotional connections and now that they've started the floodgates are wide open. Plus add in the development of her and Ari realizing they're actually twins! To say Huntley's world has been turned upside down would be a little bit of an understatement.
Now let's talk love interest...Huntley and Lorenzo's relationship continues to deepen. While she is adamant things don't go to a physical level for fear of being to emotionally attached to Lorenzo what Huntley doesn't have a grasp on is that she is already in love with this man, unconsciously she has already attached herself to the prince emotionally. And I'll let you in on a little secret - I LOVE these two characters together. They balance one another really well - I really hope she figures out a way to let him in and give this thing between the two of them a real chance.
Huntley's mission this time around puts her in a crossroads - forced into a really dark situation she comes face to face with a real life monster and the whole situation impacts her in such a meaningful way. Jillian's writing of this particular scene and the aftermath is incredible. She paints such a rich picture giving readers a truly vivid image of a very real danger. I am excited to see how this mission impacts Huntley in the books to come - one thing's for sure you cannot go through something like that and it not affect you going forward.
As always when the last page was turned my mouth was left hanging wide open - I am desperate to find out what happens in the very last scene and I really hope we don't have to wait very long. This is such a great series, with each installment the story takes you deeper and the twists keep coming. The only thing I'd request if I could would be a brief couple of paragraphs at the beginning of each book just to "refresh" your mind as to all that's happened. Well done Jillian Dodd!

As with the Keatyn Chronicles I kind of feel like I am watching a TV series and the season just ended. I want more but I have to wait until March, lol.
The Society is my favorite of the series so far. I felt like Huntley is maturing and the mysteries she is unraveling are getting deeper. Jillian is slowing feeding us answers to the many questions. I like that it keeps me reading and doesn't have just one big "aha" moment. There are lots of little ones.
We still have our core characters Huntley, Ari, Lorenzo and Daniel with a few new ones added in each book. Loving all of these characters.
Huntley's new mission is much more dangerous and deeper in cover that her previous mission. As with any spy, who do you trust? Pretty much no one. Lorenzo has been an amazing friend and ally to Huntley and she relies on him. Everyone else is a maybe.
I can't wait for the next installment to see what mess Huntley gets herself into and how she wiggles her way out.
I won't beg Jillian, but "hey Jillian, you ever thing about an early release date?" Thanks for another entertaining read!

Whoa! First of all, I'd like to just say this Spy Girl series has really turned into so much more. I can't believe all of the twists and turns taken in the plot of a 19 year old girl trained to be a deadly, secretive operative for an organization called the Black X and trying to save the world from some threat that involves a small country called Montrovia. This book was very predictable, but also very surprising. You could tell how the characters would react to most of the events, mostly because in the past two books is when we began to see the in depth perspectives and lives of the characters, including the ones who we do not know (Black X operatives). I suggest this series to anyone that loves mystery and action, with a lot of romance. I am excited to start the next book in the series later today.

I loved the twist and turn. Huntley finds out that all her friends from the academy were all murdered. The prince is now a king and wants to marry Huntley. Daniel wants her to himself. I highly recommend the Spy Girl series.

What a great addition to the series. The journey continues in book 3 and there is no shortage of adventures. The book will leave you at the edge of your seat. And the ending will have you begging for more now. Thanks Jillian for another great read.

OMG i need more! This is such a great book. I've been hooked from the very start! It's such a fun read with great characters and an awesome story. You will not be disappointed!

This installment was beyond what I would have imagined. I am sooo team Lorenzo. Twins..smh. Giving your child away as a bribe.
The human trafficking ring, wow, the visual is unreal. Glad it was put into a YA novel..let these readers know that this stuff happens still.
The plot just gets deeper and deeper, questions are answered but then more pop up..lol.

In “The Society” the third in the “Spy Girl” series Black X has assigned Huntley to track down the Moneyman who’s paying “the Priest” to kill specific targets and uncover who’s responsible for the contract while Ari is searching for any clues and a motive for the assassinations from the second victim’s belongings taken from her home. Yet as they dig deeper Huntley is certain that everything that’s happening revolves around Montrovia, the failed assassinations of the Prince and an upcoming event that could spark a global crisis.
In the undertow of the main plot is Huntley’s struggle to restrain her emotions in her relationships especially any caring, trusting or love which she’s been trained to ignore. But after discovering her twin brother is Ari and as her feelings for Enzo deepen she’s finding it hard to bury them in ambivalence. She also has uncovered an organization called “the Society” which caters to rich and powerful men who want to change the world without political interference and has offered membership to her brother, and Peter Prescott as well as Ares Von Allister ‘s deal with General Paul Bradford to get his buy-in for his Terra Sphere project. It’s the undercover agent part of the novel rather than the romance that’s intriguing and keeps you coming back to the story.
In this plot the action never slows as intensity and suspense heighten not only with Huntley’s revelation that Enzo’s life is still in danger and that the Olympics in Montrovia could spark another tragic event, but as Intrepid uses her in a scheme to bring justice to the “Moneyman” and find out his contact’s name. Although Huntley’s undercover work is emotionally riveting as she discovers secrets that leave her emotionally torn, her romance with Enzo is clouded by an arranged engagement, Daniel’s innuendos about the new King’s past relationships and a lack of chemistry between the two. Quickly and smoothly the story progresses to a startling and explosive conclusion that begs for a fourth book.

For the love of all things literary, stop doing weird things with twins! Okay, I have a twin brother so I get a little annoyed when people give twins “powers.” Like, for example, two kids growing up in different homes coming up with their own secret language despite the fact that the twins never interacted. There’s no psychic vibe that would allow them to make up a language like that. And if there is, and there are real X-men out there, I’m impressed. Also, not impressed that when they found out they were twins, Ari was like wow, that explains why I’m not attracted to you. Weird. Weird but at least Dodd wasn’t trying to do some Star Wars/ Game of Thrones stuff.
Alright, that’s out of my system, back to the book. The Lorenzo/Huntley/Daniel love triangle still had me interested so that’s fun. This book also seemed to have a bit more action than the others so I also appreciated that. As for Huntley as a character, still not sure I like her but I’m at least intrigued by her. The one thing about this book, other than the twin secret language thing, is that Huntley trusts people SO easily. The author keeps talking about how she was trained not to trust but she literally trusts everyone she meets. And, they trust this 19 year with super intense information. Seems a bit far fetched to me that she would be included on such important conversations. But, I get it, she needs to be so she can help save the world.

This book is giving me so many feels!!!! I need a shrink just to come to terms with them all! This is my favorite author and for this exact reason!
The Society brought together love, trust-issues, sizzling plots, and real life problems in this world. The Society will bring you to tears, have you pining for answers, and in real frustration.
The Society starts off where The Eagle ended. Huntley is given a new mission along with Ari to find the money man who hired The Priest. Ari and Huntley are also coming to terms with possibly being related and trying to figure out what their covers mean to them and how there pasts fit together. All of this while the countdown for Enzo to become engaged is going down. He wants to have Huntley but knows she is in a difficult place with her work... but it's either get Huntley to say yes, or suffer a arranged marriage with Lizzy.
This book is filled with plot twists and secrets and things that have you on the edge of your seat, yelling at the characters, crying horrific tears, laughing your head off, and gasping with utter disbelief and frustration. You can only expect this kind of emotion from one of Jillian's books.
I highly encourage you to continue the ride of Huntley's journey. You'll be missing something remarkable and absolutely amazing if you don't!

This book and series will keep you on the edge of your seat throughout, never knowing what new twist or secret will be revealed. It’s the type of book that pulls you in, has you becoming heavily involved in the story and characters, trying to figure out the clues of what has happened or what may happen, and leaves you with wanting and needing more.
This newest installment of the Spy Girl Series, takes the reader on a roller coaster ride of emotions. You will fall in love even more with Lorenzo. Huntley continues to be the kick-ass spy that she is, but she also shows her human/younger side, which I loved and made me feel like we got to know her character even more. There are some scenes in this book that will break you, I cried and yelled at my kindle. I have never been happier to see a character taken out ( ahhhh this specific scene was so unexpected and so well written).
As with all of Jillian’s books the writing is flawless. She has a way with words that flow effortless of the page and transport the reader into the story. This book is one that you will not be able to put down, as you will need to see what happens next. We get a lot of questions answered but we also get a lot of new pieces to the puzzle. I was left holding my breath at the very end and will be patiently (or atleast trying to) waiting for the next installment in the series. This was easily my favorite book so far in the series.

There is a scene in this book that I will not state what it is, you will know when you get there that just pulls at my heart strings. This scene is where you see Huntley unravel. Where she reacts in an unprofessional manner and in a way that goes against all her training she ever has had.
I read this in one day because once you start, you can't stop. Its like a bag of chips. Before you know it, you are completely done and you are left wanting more. The cliff hanger in this book that... I screamed. I was like ITS DONE NO IT CAN'T BE DONE! I have to know what happens to Chauncey! What happened????

The suspense is killing me. I NEED to KNOW where this series is going. The buildup for each book, in the series, is seriously amazing. The best part about this series, is you think you know what will go down....but you really don't have a clue!
The Society was great. It was nice to get back into the swing of things with Huntley and her crew of merry men. She shows us the ins and outs of being the super spy that she is. But not just that, we see her guard down a little more than we did in The Eagle and even in Spy Girl. Not saying that her guard wasn't down in The Eagle book, but her vulnerabilities lie a little more open, than expected. We see her as a person, not just the spy that she was trained to be. She feels all the feels that anyone would, when put in the situations she's been put in.
With The Society, we're given way more insight into the life of Ares Von Allister, and it had me questioning everything. I loved that about this book. We hear views of him from 'friends.' This helps us to understand Huntley's search as a spy even more. All of the little insights from every angle is quite thrilling. This book will keep you on your toes. But I should warn you, you will want way more than what you get....

Another brilliant story from one of my favorites authors. If you haven't read any of the books in the Spy Girl Series, I suggest you start it before The Society is released. 😊
As the twins' adventure continue, I was not able to put down my e-reader. I really liked how he story turned out as well as her character build up. From Huntley being a ruthless assassin who just wants to finish a mission as well as to seek revenge, to someone who learned how to care deeply and form attachments to the people surrounding her.
The revelation that Lorenzo is the one Huntley loves is shocking since all the while I thought she has feelings for Daniel. In the first book, I thought that her relationship with charming and playful Daniel will strengthen but due to the events that preceded the yatch incident, they only grew apart which then led her closer to the sweet and thoughtful Lorenzo.
I just hope that the Priest was not as successful as he thought he was. I'm looking forward to the next book praying that Huntley, Chauncey at Lorenzo are all alive.

Wow! I’m not sure what to say. I’m completely hooked and I’ve just finished the last book out… what am I going to do now???
This series has blown me away. Not only does Jillian only give a little bit away at a time but the story feels like it’s only just getting started even though Huntley, Ari, Lorenzo and so on have been on this journey for a long time together.
I honestly don’t want to give anything away. I think that the reader needs to enjoy and absorb this book without any influence by a review but you do need to have read the first two books in this series or you won’t have a clue what is going on. It might be their third mission but it feels like their hundredth.
I will say that these books just get better and better, I’m completely addicted by the Spy Girl books and read The Society in one go. I couldn’t put it down. I now need my next fix!
