I really loved this story!!

Grrrrr - all those sexy SEALs!! We're huge SEAL fans here at BJ's Book Blog ☺

description

And this 9th SEAL book was just as good as the others.

Lots of very suspensy & SEALy moments and frustrating moments and of course there's lots of romance thrown in too. Jon has to romance himself back into Ali's heart after all. ☺

I wanted to slap him a few times here and there - leaving poor Ali alone all the time to go and try to save the world! Men!

Great, quick Romantic Suspense read!

ROMANCED BY A SEAL was a very suspensy SEAL romance! Will Ali finally get her Happily Ever After with Jon??? Run to your nearest amazon to find out!

Right back to where we started from, and I loved it! Ali and Jon started this series with their romance, and Jon had trouble seeing forever then as well. He could always see it, but he had things to do before he was willing to commit, for Ali's well-being

This is no different, but on a much larger and more important scale. He and Ali are living together, after logical Jon calculated it was a good idea. He also has a secret that is holding him back, causing him trouble on all sorts of fronts. Jon is still unable to communicate his feelings, still protecting everyone, but that doesn't mean he doesn't fell strongly

Everything finally becomes clear to Jon, but he let things slide with Ali a bit too long. He has to win her, do all the things they missed in their courtship. It is emotional and sweet, and, like Ali, you can't help but fall for Jon all over again!

While I love this series, this book was not my cup of tea. I felt too much time was spent in describing the fanaticism of ISIS and their techniques. While I know it was crucial to the story, it made it difficult for me to read the book. I struggled to read the book, but I am glad I finished it because the ending was wonderful.

This is the 9th book in the series. However, it deals with one of the couple's who already have a book written about them. I would read the other book and then this one to completely understand the relationship. Even though this is a full book, I think these types of books should be a .5 or something so you know it goes with another book in the series.

Again, we have me our hero and heroine in this book. However, just because they found each other doesn't mean they'll have an easy road of making their relationship work. It doesn't help he's working on something big for his company. The secret something is putting wedges between his love and his teammates and he has to go it alone which is something that hasn't been done before.

The heroine knows something is going on with the hero but he won't talk to her. She's going through each of the reasons why he would be acting this way and none of them fit including him cheating on her. She ends up putting it down to him having second thoughts to them finally moving in together especially when he disappears. While he's away, both the hero and heroine search within themselves, others and have a surprise in store for each of them, but they must first find themselves back together again.

While I like follow up books, the numbering on the series made me think this was another guy either on the team or in the company. The characters were still good to get to know, and the plot was pretty good, but not believable completely. I had to force myself to agree to the hero's story line. I did like how people interacted and dealt with things. Sometimes we just need to throw a grenade and watch people's reactions.

Romanced by a SEAL is an emotionally charged story that makes you feel and takes you away to places that catch your breath.

I'm coming into the middle of the series, having only read book 2 about a year ago. I enjoyed landing in the middle of Jon and Ali's relationship and sorting out the feelings of "where do we go from here" with them.

I had to take a pause somewhere in the middle because I was connected so much to the characters and their emotions I was afraid of what was going to happen... and as much as I wanted to hurry through, I forced myself to live through the unknowns and worries and it made the story all that better for me.

I loved being in both Jon and Ali's heads, knowing what the other was thinking/experiencing and seeing them make their way to their hea. The twists and surprises along the way made the journey all the more worth it. I also liked the strong brotherhood and sisterhood shown - those kind of friendships are priceless!

I listened to this in audio and the narrator did a terrific job acting out the parts and keeping my attention.

Tired Of The Secrets

Jon has been running GAPS for a few years now with his partner and friends. Ali has been a constant in his life for longer than that. She has moved into his home, the next obvious step should be getting married, right? Workaholic Jon has chosen to go lone wolf on a mission into the belly of the beast. Infiltrating ISIS for the alphabet agency. He is going dark, no communication with anyone, including Ali. Having dated the former elite SEAL for yrs, she was used to the secrets, now she has one of her own! However, the secrets he keeps are driving her away, can Jon fix things with Ali before it’s too late and he loses her? I loved this book, there was enough steam to keep me happy, but we saw so much more of Jon behind the scenes this time! Great book!

I really liked the first 5 books in this series. I was listening to it on audio, but book 6, 7 and 8 weren’t available. I decided to skip to book 9 since I was familiar with the main characters. I really wanted to love this book, but I was really disappointed that Jon went out on his own. Ali also got on my nerves with her childish ways. The author redeemed herself in the last few chapters, but I am going to give this series a rest for now.

Another great book from Cat Johnson. Just goes to show some men can change.

I didn't think Jon was ever going to smarten up and realize how much he really loved Ali. I know Ali loves him with everything she is but the way he was acting, I was surprised at how questions copy she forgave him and went back home with him. The best part was towards the end when Zane was holding his phone ready to call an and ambulance or a chopper if necessary.

Loved it!

Wow this book has it all but I have to say I have been a fan of jonh and Ali and this book was such a great story because relationships are a must work between couples and even though John thought he was protecting ppl he went about it wrong but when you love someone you will fight for them to get them back into your life.

Absolutely loved it. John and Ali have always been my favorite couple. Ali has always wanted a ring on her finger but John always has an excuse. When he goes through a bad experience and comes back and does propse, he is very confused when she leaves. Can he convince her that he loves her and that is why he wants to marry her? Not because of the experience he had?

Spoiler:

Not that this wasn’t an okay story. If I understood the series I wouldn’t have chosen to read. I’m not too keen on reading about combat at length, and half of this story is telling about a Seeal’s mission. The last quarter is dedicated to a little romance, and fighting for love. Someone else would have enjoyed this book. Overall, it was well written.

Good conclusion to the Ali & Jon love story!

This was a wild ride to get to their HEA -- fighting terrorists and being a workaholic can make life difficult! But these 2 found their way together and I enjoyed the ending!

We finally get the conclusion of Jon and Ali's story.
Jon is still dragging his feet in this relationship but he also does something so silly and outs himself at risk.
Ali finds herself unwilling to believe his proposal and this causes Jon to have to step up his game before he loses Ali for good.

another HFN???

90% of the story Jon and Allie aren't together or getting along. How are we supposed to believe this couple is going to make it long term.

The narration was great.

Copy received from author for an honest review

Woohoo, more hot SEALs in my inbox (hmm that sounds a bit suss!!) - let me at them!

I adore the Hot SEALs series, so whenever I get more to read it puts me in a happy place.

And getting more of one our my beloved SEALs - even better!

Romanced By A SEAL had a completely different feel to the other books in the series. Yes, it had Jon and his Ali, but this time there was so much more to their story than just the romance.

Sure, there was romance (look at the title!) but this time there was more SEALy stuff in the story.

In fact, after about the first 25% I was thinking who is this man and what has Ms Johnson done with Jon? This showed us the SEAL side of the man more than the devoted boyfriend.

And I liked it.

Did I want to slap Jon for being a bit of a jerk - hell yeah. But could I see why he was the way he was. Sure thing.

I loved that we got more of Jon and Ali's family and friends, the banter and the snark between them all.

And now I have finished and am wanting more. Please don't make us wait too long Ms Johnson!

Having watched Jon and Ali fall for one another in the first Hot SEALs book, Night with a SEAL, I was excited to read their follow up story in Romanced by a SEAL. As the book opens, Jon and Ali have been living together for a while, but their relationship is stagnant. Unknown to his teammates/friends and Ali, Jon decides to take an off-the-record job going undercover to infiltrate ISIS. Of course his secrecy is causing all sorts of tension at home.

Overall, I enjoyed Romanced by a SEAL, especially since Jon and Ali’s initial story concluded with an HFN ending. The couple went through some major ups and downs in this one, tugging at my heart more than once. While the first half of the book focused on Jon’s mission and the troubles between the pair, the second half was a joy to read, following the couple as they worked through their very serious issues and communication breakdown. Once the pair started talking and working through things, I felt the tempo of the book improved, and I sunk into the story more.

As per usual, Ms. Johnson’s attention to military detail is impressive. I appreciated the detail and (I'll assume) accuracy of Jon's situation as he went undercover. However, for me, it felt a bit misplaced in this romance story, especially since it is on the shorter side. Personally, I want more relationship building and less seriousness in the first half of the book. Jon's situation was very delicate and extremely serious, and while the author does a very good job keeping the tone appropriate to the situation, I felt that the military storyline overtook the romance for too much of the book.

In the end, Romanced by a SEAL was a delightful read, and the second half of the book made up for any issues I had in the earlier parts of the story. While I had a couple small issues, the author did a great job eventually addressing any matters that concerned me. I like that, overall, the storylines felt realistic yet HEA.

My Rating: B, Liked It

Jon Rudnick, retired Navy SEAL is still taking dangerous missions as he works as a private contractor for his company GAPS. This time he leaves behind his girlfriend, Ali and his partner, Zane and all of their friends to go off the radar and infiltrate ISIS as a recruit to gather intelligence for the government.

Ali is upset with all the time Jon spends away from her at work, how he never tells her where he is going when he takes his to-go bag and just leaves. He is growing his hair long and beard and even more distracted than normal just before he walks out one morning with his bag and tells her is going on a mission and he doesn't know when he will be back. He completes the mission to return home to more trouble than being on the mission when Ali walks out on him.

The solution is for Jon to show Ali what it feels like to be Romanced by a SEAL and he puts everything he knows about Ali and works out a plan. This is cute story with a serious background story of his mission.

This is a continuation of Ali and Jon's story who first meet in Night with a Seal, and it was enjoyable to read. The story itself had more action than others in the Hot SEAL series. Which I liked and it did keep me engaged from start to finish.

It was also an extremely easy and quick read. With really little in the way of angst and certainly anyone who is a fan of this series or has read and enjoyed Night with a Seal will enjoy this one too.

Oh man, I knew Jon and Ali needed some resolution, but goodness gracious, did they get it. And he had to walk through fire to get it. This conclusion of their story arc is beautifully handled and so entertaining. In addition, they BOTH needed to learn the art of communication (him because he's a naturally secretive SEAL, and her because she has to get beyond the hurt and the overthinking) to reconnect what had developed back in Night With a SEAL. Jon had to grow up, and by grow up I mean he had to find the part of him that wanted to reconnect with a woman he loved. He doesn't want to be just a guy who hooked up with his girl. He wants to be the man who works through the scary with the woman he loves. Awesomesauce. I really enjoyed it.

Jon Rudnick is the “boss” of the Seal Team that have left the seals and now working for GAPS (Guardian Angel Protection Services). Jon found his true love, Ali, in Book 1, Night With a Seal.

Jon, being very analytical but he loves his fiancé’ Ali, but actually pulling the trigger and getting married sends him into a cold sweat. Ali is getting impatient and when Jon went on an assignment without telling her or the team. During the mission, Jon had a near miss and he realizes that life is too short and he wants to get married.

Ali is not sure that Jon is ready and she is having second thoughts. Can Jon convince her that he loves her more than life and he wants to marry her. You must read this installment to find out.
