His past may be too dark for her to handle. But then, so is hers…
Career-driven Denora James was never interested in finding love until she meets Max Greenheart, a devastatingly handsome Irish Billionaire who fills her minds with dreams that she’d never dared envision. As she’s swept into a whirlwind romance, it becomes all too easy for Denora to finally forget about the past that had haunted her ever since she ran away from home so many years ago. What she doesn’t know is that her past is tied to his in ways that she can’t even imagine.
Max Greenheart has Denora exactly where he wants her. Fueled by an obsessive desire for revenge, he lures her into his life with the firm intention of destroying her. To Max, she is nothing more but a pawn in a meticulously-calculated plan. And yet, in spite of his hatred for everything that Denora James stands for, he finds himself growing inexplicably closer to the fiercely independent woman.
But as Max falls in love with her, will Denora ever find out that their relationship started off on lies? And what happens when she discovers that she’s carrying his child?
Let me start off by saying, that I really tried to like this book. This was my first Destiny Davis book and I do not want to sound rude, but I honestly do not understand how anyone can publish a novel with so many grammatical errors in it. In addition, to the errors I had trouble understanding why Max was so hellbent on ruining Denora's life.
Why didn't he look further into whether or not Denora had criminal ties to her father? He has the money, he could have made things far more easier for himself if he had just took a minute and realize that she had nothing to with his sister's death. (Spoiler) Why did Denora sleep with him when she barely knew him? Not too mention, when she discovers she is pregnant after Max's accident, she is like virtually surprised. Um, not once did they use any kind of protection, so why is she so shocked? (Spoiler)
Why were the Greenhearts and the James' families enemies? Did they have beef back in the day before Max and Denora were born? What reason would David have in killing Max's sister? Why not take out the whole family? What happened to the two guys that showed up at the ranch in Ireland? They knew Denora was staying at the ranch, so why not take her when she is about to leave to go back to New York? When Max started to fall in love with her, why didn't he get rid of all the stuff he had on his computer? There would have been no need to keep any of that crap. Why did her father show up in Ireland without any of Max's dad's old crew not knowing about it or intercepting the visit? I mean, these guys are criminals. They will know when an enemy is on the move and would be tracking them. Two months after she returned back to New York, Max finally goes after her and they talk for like two minutes and all is forgiven???????
These are just some of the things that plagued me while I read this book. As I read, I really hoped that things will turn around. I would have liked more detail about their parents' history. I would also liked if the romance was at a slower pace.
I will give Ms. Davis another chance and read another book of hers because I feel that Irish could be a good book if more time was taken in making sure it was edited carefully.
I love the plot twist and this book. It was great and I will read it again. I like how the focus is on these 2 people who probably should not have met or fallen in love but they do and revenge is what brings them together-the billionaire knows this and our heroine does not. What happens is an interesting story and an even better read. I loved this one.
I loved every minute of this book. It was emotional , humorous and the characters were truly likeable. The quality of the book was also a pleasant surprise as there were few typographical errors. So all in all, a truly wonderful and fabulous read. Thank you Destiny. I look forward to reading more of your books.
I'm going to have to say that I was not terribly invested in their relationship. Max was just too awful. Who uses their sister's death as an excuse for revenge as an explanation to why he tried to ruin her life. And then acts like falling in love was enough to undo all the damage he'd caused. Nope.

Personally, l was looking for more action. Being that we dealing with two Mob Families. It was pretty tame to me... But it was okay.
The second Love story was okay. I love how Keisha was a Mama Lion trying to save her some. But the only thing that bothered Me about story. Was that l wanted find out why Mike killed himself.
I know how cruelly he treated Keisha. That she was the one to dress him for funeral. I don't how she found the strength to do that. I was disappointed that didn't find out about Mike's sucide.
For the main story and the bonus the sex scenes were just waaay too much. Too soon in IBR and too salacious in both of them for me. A real turn off. Maxs' plan was terrible although I did get his reasoning. He was just full of grief, anger & shock heightened by the twin factor. Very disappointed in Keishas' acceptance of Rachel's lies...Too silly. But the endings where Max & Frederick put their big boy panties on, stopped moping and fought for that HEA smoothed over a lot of the disappointment. Sooo...they're Ok...ok? 😉
This book had promise. It kept me intrigued enough to keep reading.
My disappointment is with how easily Denora forgave Max. Really? She didn’t make him earn his way back to her especially when Max revenge plan was malicious. He got off too easily.
He set it up so that her professional integrity was questioned although Denora was a willing participant. It’s disappointing when supposedly strong women so easily surrender to their alpha counterparts especially at the cost of their integrity. I’d love to see a women make an alpha man work for her affections instead of being a doormat

Max sets out to ruin Denora's life for a perceived wrong. By the time the truth comes out, he is in too deep and loves her. How can he make it right when the past steps in to push them further apart? This is the first story I have read by the author. Loved the plot and the getting to happy but the editing could have been better.
This book made me mad for so many reasons why would he make Denora pay for her father David James being one of his father's enemies and the person he for a long time thought had his twin sister and his brother in-law murdered. It was wrong that he lied to her from the very beginning of their "relationship", he planned their first meeting, buying the magazine where she worked, having her embarrassed. It was wrong on so many levels, he should've just been honest and ever used her to get to her father who she was estranged from David James and his dealing for eleven years until he showed up in Ireland and told her what his associates found out while following her.
Really enjoyed this book, there was a bit of mystery and suspense. Maxwell lost his sister and brother in law in an automobile accident. He blamed Denora and he was determined to make her pay. Funny how it works sometime when you decide to get revenge, you have planned it all out but do really have all the information. Great story about love, loss, feuding families and the ones that get caught in between.
What happens when this hot billionaire, Max, falls in love with Denora the woman he has promised to destroy. Max, son of top mafia boss in Ireland, vows to avenge his sister's death by going after Denora, daughter of man responsible for his sister's death. Will love keep Max and Denora together? what happens when all secrets are revealed? You must read this exciting story to find out.
This was a break from reading about real stuff 🤣. But it was a good getaway book. Reading this for the second time, I did find denora annoying. I know her upbringing plays a role in her character. 🤕 I love the love story none the less. Made me travel to Ireland 🇮🇪 without the airline fees and packing 🤣🤣.
This was a very good fast paced sexy grown-up romance with suspense thrown in for good measure. The two main characters are really likable that you want to cheer for them and you want a happy ending. This was such a fun read and very entertaining.
This author did a great on weaving story that kept me reading to the end and I enjoyed every minute of it. It needed edging a little but it didn't take away from t great plot of the story. I will buy other boos by this author
