The man intended for Nicole DeLeón will come along when she is good and ready and not a minute sooner, no matter how desperately the older women of her church try to find her a match. She simply does not have the time to date with Nursing courses, her best friend's wedding, work and volunteering at church. If and when she finds the time to find love, it will be with a man in love with Jesus and most certainly not the flirty best man that makes her heart do funny things.
Drew Wells is adamant that falling in love is a waste of time, as is organized religion. As long as he has a say, neither are in his future and the closest he will ever get to either is being the best man at his cousin's wedding and spending a week with the bible thumping bridal party. The beautiful brunette bridesmaid is fun to flirt with but she will most certainly not make him want to think about settling down or worse, become a holy-roller.
Can either stop their hearts from betraying their minds.
Cynthia Marcano is a native Jersey girl enamored of Jesus, reading, and cake, born and raised in Southern New Jersey to Puerto Rican parents. She loves to incorporate South Jersey culture with life as a Christian and Hispanic woman into her fiction writing. She founded Feeding Thousands Publishing in 2015 and just launched Urban House Publishing in 2019.
When her nose isn't stuck in her laptop designing graphics or in a book, reading Christian Fiction you can probably find her volunteering and praising God or at home avoiding the dishes and spending time with her three beloved children.
She Will Rise, a brand devoted to encouraging others through heartbreak and loss was launched in 2019 to empower women into business, inner and outer beauty, and self-love. Through her organization, she leads women on self-discovery and self-love "journeys."
I received this e book as a gift from the author for an honest review. I gave the story 4 stars although I considered only 3. The books could have been at least two books and maybe been better. It was a little too long getting to the point of the story. It went through the details of a wedding, suggested a mystery that didn't materialize, then a rather exhaustive decorating project, all the time leading up to the intent of the book which is the love story between Nicole and Drew. As a faithful Christian Nicole is torn between her attraction to Drew who makes fun of anything religious and his advances toward her. Drew is use to having any woman he wants and is put off by Nicole's determination to hold to her principles. Throughout the story he is trying to toss her memory aside as he has always been able to do with the women he has discarded in the past but her image returns to his mind no matter how hard he tries to forget her. This is a good read and I recommend it to those who like a long, detailed book.
Nicole has a life where she follows God and He is the most important one in her life. Until she meets Drew. She feels a draw toward him but knows he does not follow God and he is content to continue his life as a playboy. So she is determined to live her life without him. However, every time something happens in her life, Drew is her rescuer. Cynthia Marcano writes a very believable story about friendships, love and most importantly God. I have not read any of her books before but I will be purchasing her books and will begin reading them. I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.
This is a sequel to the book Eyes on Him. It is the story of two new characters Drew, the lapsed Christian and Nicole, the friend of everyone from the first book. (You don't need to have read the first book to enjoy this book) In this book we meet lots of new people but catch up on old friends like Max and Dream. I volunteered to read this book in its unedited format so I am still trying to decide if I want to give it 3 or 4 stars. I would like to have read a more edited copy of the book as it was a bit choppy in parts and with words missing this distracted from the reading but nevertheless I got used to it in the end. There were parts of the story that I wished the author would have developed more. For example there is an exciting development at Tami and Jonah's wedding that I really wished the author would have taken and ran with the storyline a bit further. That however is my personal feelings. There is romance, and a lot of Christian values being taught in this book. Nothing wrong with that just a heads up if you are not into Christian fiction. I think this sequel is aimed at a little higher audience than Eyes on Him. Not sure that teens would gravitate to it but YA and older yes. The book ends with the possibility of another. I was not required to give a positive review in exchange for the book.
Hand in His, written by Cynthia Marcano, was the first book I've read by this author, but I hope not the last! My favorite character of the book: Drew, by far! He's what everyone would say is a "hottie" and just an all-round kind of guy that women flock to....but he was soooo in need of the Lord! He was a big time flirt and never considered marriage in the future for him. God had no place in his life. My favorite scene: Awww...well you'll have to read it because it's after the third chapter and I can't tell you about that since it would ruin your reading experience :( My recommendation: Go ahead, buy it, read it, and review it. It's totally worth the time...some great romancing, some awesome inspirational truths, some laughs, and a fun read! I was gifted this book in exchange for my honest review.
This was a great book. Couldn't put it down. Just the right length for a busy weekend. The plot unfolded gradually and gave just the right amount of character development. Am hoping that a sequel is coming.
