Fascinating Sci-Fi series begins with the prequel ‘Odessa Fremont’ by author Michelle L Levigne. It is part of the Guardians of the Time Stream series.

In this prequel Odessa Fremont is an orphan at the age of fourteen and is sent to a boarding school. While at the boarding school she discovers the headmistress is trying to steal her inheritance. Odessa is my favorite character because she is mischievous, brilliant, daring, and willing to help the Secret Service apprehend the Resurrectionists.

I received this free via StoryCartel for my review.

What a tale! A thoroughly action-packed ride. Ess is a feisty character and won't back down from authority, danger or the government in her pursuit of truth and justice. Sometimes it felt a bit over the top, but hey, what fun it was! Archeology, Boarding School, Thieves, Secret Service, Resurrectionists, Civil War, and Pinkertons just to name a few of the subjects. Takes you by the seat of your pants and doesn't let go until the end. Which by

Odessa Fremont (Guardians of the Time Stream) was such a fun and adventurous book! This the pre-quell to The Blue Lotus Society, (which I read first). See how Ess came to live such an interesting and challenging life. How from the ages of 14 to 18 she uncovers plots and schemes as she is trying to find her missing brother and grandparents. She uses several disguises but usually dresses as a boy. With help from the Secret Service and the Pinkerton Ess discovers how much she can accomplish in her ...more

Entertaining. I liked the main character and the writing was good. It wasn't a normal plot though, with a beginning, middle and and ending. It's like it didn't really go anywhere overall. Maybe it was sort of like 4 episodes - Odessa at boarding school, Odessa runs away, Odessa as a secret agent and odessa as a detective. I felt somewhat disappointed that she was not closer in achieving her primary goals at the end of the story than she was at the beginning. And there was no time travel. From ...more

Odessa Fremont by Michelle Levigne is a pleasant steampunk escape into years gone by. Set within post-Civil War America, there is nevertheless, a slight side adjustment to an alternate history. Abraham Lincoln remains functional within a mechanized wheelchair after having survived a few assassination attempts and powered lighter-than-air dirigibles travel from continent to continent. My public school history lessons drilled into me the fact that airships didn't come into economic play until ...more

Odessa Fremont by Michelle Levigne, is a steam punk story set in an alternate post civil war America.

The story follows a series of adventures in Odessa's life, as she crosses the country in search of her missing brother.

I loved this book. It's steam punk but there is no magic or supernatural elements as can be found in most of the genre. This book had everything I loved about the classic stories of my youth. Stories like: The Boxcar Children, Pippi Longstocking, The Little Princess and the

Michelle has been a book addict since picking up 'The Cat in the Hat'.

She started writing her own stories in junior high, when TV shows didn't turn out like she thought they should. Her first rejection letter came the summer after high school graduation, her first published story was in connection with fan fiction, and her first sale was in the Writers of the Future anthology.
