My Secret Submission

Rate this book
A new standalone novel about a taboo romance. Forbidden desires, stolen moments, and secret submissions just the beginning.

My submission, Your demand
Your wish, My command

Coming May 4, 2016

Meredith Nichols. I’m the epitome of a good wife and a good mom. I’m President of the PTA, I volunteer in my children’s classrooms, and I moonlight as a freelance editor for romance authors. No one suspects what secret desires lurk below the surface, except my husband. I’ve openly tried to persuade him to join me in my fantasies, but he’s refused over and over again.

Then, I met Gregor Thompson. Our worlds collided one fateful day and there was no turning back. He’s a mystery, intriguing, dominant, and has the same struggles at home that I do. He’s opened my mind to the possibility that my fantasies can indeed be met and that he’s the man to mentor me. He’s infiltrated my brain and seems to know my wants and needs before I express them.

It’s time to be who I was meant to be, get what I want, what I need, and forget what society thinks. I’m going to let Gregor take me on a journey of self-discovery to places most are unwilling to go. We all have a public life, a private life, and a secret life… He would be mine.

He was my safe place.
He was my secret escape.
He was my Sir.
He was My Secret Submission.

Where to start... I know this book is going to get some extremely critical reviews. The warnings are there in the description, this book contains cheating so if you don't like that in your reading THEN DON'T READ THIS AND THEN SLAM THE CHEATING IN A REVIEW.

While I do not condone cheating in any way. I do not mind it in my reading choices. Its a part of life, not a great part, but all parts of life are not great.

My Secret Submission, to this reviewer, was a story of a woman in a desireless, passionless marriage. She tried with all her heart for a decade to rectify that while the emotional toll of being in a situation like that wore on her.

Everyone, EVERYONE has a breaking point, a point in our lives where we either choose to continue on with a situation or the change it. Emotional abuse is just as caustic as physical abuse, even moreso when its done unintentionally, the lack of emotion, passion and desire from her spouse was a 10 year long continuous emotional beating, and the worse part is that Todd was clueless and not for lack of Meredith trying to explain it to him.

The way Meredith chose to change her situation may not have been the best choice, but at the time, it was the best choice for her, and that is ultimately what matters the most. Through her choice Meredith found herself again, she found her worth and self esteem that had been shattered for so long. Her choice gave her the strength, confidence and emotional support to move on with her life and take one of the scariest steps a stay at home mom can take to independence.

I loved the banter back and forth between Meredith and Gregor, and between Meredith and her BFF Tami even more, everyone needs a Tami in their life :-). I also loved that while this book dealt with a serious topic, it was not a super heavy read and in true JM Witt style there are a couple of twists in this story that will have you gasping.

There is one part near the end (that I'm not going to give away) that was so well written I had to read it three times to make sure it was what I thought it was.

I highly recommend reading this story of one woman's journey to explore and own her desires and in the process find herself.

Wow! I have read two other stories from Ms. Witt, but this was nothing like those! It was hot and kinky and on the darker side!

“No one knew how deep my cravings ran, probably not even myself.”

Meredith has a lonely life. She is a wife and mother, president of the PTA, but she is looking for more. Something her husband can’t and won’t give her. So, she goes elsewhere to find it.

“Gregor was my Eden, beautiful and forbidden…”

Gregor is a dominant. He is her Sir. He trains her how to be a submissive. Having elements lacking in his marriage at home as well, Gregor takes Meredith under his wing. There was only one rule—no falling in love.

“In his presence I was safe, cherished, likely marked…And entirely owned.”

I really loved the email exchanges between Meredith and Gregor. I loved watching Meredith become happy with herself as a woman and not being afraid to go after what she wants. I adored Jared in this story, and hope that we might get his and Heather’s tale sometime soon.
Make sure you heed the warning—this book is on the darker side, it has elements of BDSM and cheating. If you are not okay with those things, then I wouldn’t recommend this book. However, if you enjoy a darker, hot, kinky story, get to reading! I thoroughly enjoyed this story and look forward to more from J.M. Witt as it seems she can write in any area she sets her mind to. ~ Tiffany, 4 stars

~~~
There are some hot buttons that may affect some readers, and I strongly suggest you read the warnings before you purchase this book.
This is a book about making your life what you want it to be… Following your heart and making your secret desires a reality.
Meredith is an editor for romance novels, a wife, a mother, and is unhappy. She has edited enough books to know what she wants to try in the bedroom, but with a husband who refuses to touch her, it’s hard to make those dreams a reality.
Gregor is a husband with a wife who is not willing to be his submissive in the bedroom. He is also a father.
When these two meet on an erotic “dating” website, after a while they begin to get from each other what they are not getting at home.
I liked this story, but was not in love with it. The majority of the book is told via email conversations between the two. I understand that the relationship is mostly conducted this way, but I had a hard time relating to the email only aspect. It also seemed like it took me a long time to fully engage in the story itself. There were some underlying issues that were not addressed fully, and some that were not even really spoken about until much later in the book. I feel that had some of these things come to light earlier, it may have captivated me earlier on. ~ Devlynn, 3.5 stars
If you don't like cheating then this book isn't for you but I think you should give it a try because it does show a different take on relationships.
You have a woman who is lonely in her marriage and a husband is checked out.
Meredith has BDSM desires while Todd her husband doesn't enjoy them.
She signed up for a site for research as she was wanting to get into writing.
Enter Gregor who is also married to a woman kinda like Todd.
They strike up a fast friendship and soon the fun begin.
The relationship of D/s is something that is truly special if it's a real D/s situation.
They explore, give each other what they need from their spouses.
The words on these pages are amazing.
The story flowed and I read the book in one day because I couldn't put it down.
This book had drama, HOT HOT sex, too hot to handle chemistry and unique twist on relationships.
I can't wait to read more from this author.
I received this book from the author for an honest review.
My Secret Submission is the first book of author J. M. Witt who I had the opportunity to read and I can say that I really liked it. The title quite intrigued me and that made me want to read this book as soon as possible and I’m glad I did it.
The beginning of this book is quite funny, I found myself laughing a lot, because the scenes were described in a simple and fun way. This story got me thinking seriously because what was happening was so banal that could happen to any of us. The theme of this book may be taboo for many but for me is something that arouses my attention and I confess that a lot of curiosity.
This book is told by Meredith a stay at home mom with a hidden desire that I think many women identify with her. The chronicle of its history has parts that are really fun, parts it is very sad but with a lesson in all of this because it makes us see that the common is not always what makes us happy.
One thing I can assure you, the hot factor of this book, the hot scenes are bursting at any scale. The way the scenes are described lead our imagination to a state of trance that only reading you can understand what I am saying.
What will be better? Do the morally right or do what our heart desires?
Is it fair to sacrifice our happiness in favor of a relationship that it’s over?
I honestly think that when things are bad we try to solve it, but when only one person is who is willing to fight, the best to do is to give up and try to be happy.
Wow! I will tell you now that this is the HOTTEST BOOK I HAVE EVER READ! You don't believe me then one click and find out. You might as well give up on wearing panties while you read this. If you do wear them, be prepared for them to be uncomfortably drenched the entire time. Don't fret. There is definitely all kinds of feels and emotions in this read. It is an extremely well rounded book. Did I mention its also a taboo read as well! It is a full length book so no worries there. You will get many hours of hotness to fulfill all of your needs. I have a girl crush on JM now for writing such a hot and steamy read. Lol.
After the both have been in unfulfilling marriages for years, Gregor and Meredith develop a Dom/sub relationship to fulfill their needs without having to leave their spouses. Can you truly engage in that type of relationship and not develop feelings for each other? A lot of people can do just that, but all bets are off as they get deeper and deeper in. They established a rule that no feelings were to be involved, but what happens when one or both take the fall? Can they continue their D/s fantasy or will they get caught and have everything come crashing down?
This is a highly recommended read. I stayed up after working all night to read this book. I simply COULD NOT put it down. I hope you will read this review and know that you really need to one click ASAP!
Don’t shoot me for loving this Taboo Romance! I don’t agree with cheating and I have been married for over 38 years.
I thought I had read at least one of J. M. Witt’s books but apparently I was mistaken. Maybe it is because I have been wanting to read one of her books for a while now.
This is a story about a woman (Meredith Nichols) that is being unfulfilled by her husband (Todd). She asks for more but, Tod says he can’t/won’t do what she is asking. I do see Meredith trying and I really never felt that Todd was. Maybe because he was uncomfortable with what she was asking for. They have been married for a while and everything is a little stale. In walks Gregor and he is willing to give her what she needs. He is her “Sir” Gregor says he is in a marriage that his wife won’t give him what he needs either. But of course there is more to the story.
Wow I did not see that one coming! Yep there is a big twist in this story. Oh and this book is HAWT! Oh I loved the Playlist that Meredith had! My Secret Submissive of course has BDSM all throughout this book. And, I think Meredith must be a little masochist with all her spankings. And, just a little menage. This book can fill all your needs. ;)
I think I just found a new author to follow! I received a complimentary copy of My Secret Submissive for an honest review. I give it 5+ STARS!
This is my favourite book by this author so far. I absolutely loved it. Although it's a big book I inhaled this in a day and a night.
Meredith and Todd are like a lot of couples in that one wants more than the other does in the bedroom. Unfortunately Meredith decides to find it elsewhere hence she meets Gregor through an online site. Gregors also married. What happens next is a brilliant story full of twists that had me gasping.
I do not condone cheating however this is a story of cheating with plenty of BDSM that I absolutely loved.
This is definitely going on my to re read list.
Loved it.
This book was packed full of all kinds of emotions!! Meredith was lonely and looking for something opposite of the vanilla life she had been living. She turns to the Internet in hopes of filling the void. Gregor was a very capable and commanding Dom. A very hot, powerful taboo read with just the right amount of humor thrown in.
I have to start and say I'm not normally a fan of cheating books. Yes I will say it again, THERE IS CHEATING IN THIS BOOK! With that said, if you can't read those type of books then don't pick up this one. This one hooked me from the beginning. I must say that what Meredith and Gregor have is full of passion,love and respect. Yes they might have done it the wrong or so some may say. I'll agree that cheating isn't always easy on the family especially when it comes out but it handled the right way.
So here's the deal, Meredith has needs and desires that her husband can't fulfill or doesn't want to. She turns to a website and finds someone who can help her out. At first she ok with it, cause he lives in the next town over.... that wasn't exactly the truth though. Meredith and Gregor start emailing each other and man are those HOT!! If it was only emails and no sex, this book would still have the sizzling chemistry and all the emotions that go on in this book. They start a secret relationship with little rendezvous to the park and hotel rooms. But something changes and they break the rules. All along this is going on, Meredith's husband isn't exactly being a good boy himself....i won't say anymore then that, although I probably just gave it away.
This book is really a matter of going after your desires and finding someone to enjoy it with. ;)
I feel like its also about finding what truly makes you happy. This book is a bit on the long side, mostly from all their emails written out but I think it adds so much to the story and the emotions they were feeling along the way.
WOW! I'm not sure what I was expecting, but it wasn't even close to what I just read. And even worse, I'm not fully clear about how I'm feeling after finishing it, as it's totally different than J.M Witt's other books. Meredith is a wife, mother, and president of the PTA, but she still finds herself yearning for something more as she's very lonely. She's tried to get her husband to spice up their sex life, and he isn't willing to act out her secret fantasies. She first comes into contact with Gregor Thompson online, and after they get to know each other through back and forth emailing, she learns they have the same struggles at home, but he's convinced her that he's the man who can mentor her through her secret fantasies, so they decide to meet. He's mysterious, intriguing, and just what she needs, but as they live in the same town, will they be able to keep her submission secret?
Let me start out by saying, I don't condone cheating at all, but with that being said, this was a real page turner. The character development is good, with an awesome cast of secondaries that I'm really hoping get their own stories. A super sexy, dark, and well written storyline flows smoothly. The SCORCHIN' HOT HOT HOT sexy scene goodness will leave disintegrated
panties everywhere. I really loved Meredith, and especially loved watching her come into her own, but I didn't get attached to Gregor, who came off as someone with too many secrets, but instead fell in love with Jared. I love this author's brilliant writing style, and no matter how many people get critical, it's the mark of a great author to stir everyone up. So in conclusion, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Meredith is an editor, who works from home. She has a slight bit of a kinky side to her and cannot get her husband to even spank her. She goes onto a website called KinkyFodder to see what's out there, not really sure what's going on. She finds one profile and starts talking to 'him', Gregor. Watching the interplay between them as they email back and forth both on KinkyFodder and outside of that on personal emails proves to be highly entertaining. Their profiles show them as being from different towns a about an hour away from one another or so. Where would they meet, if they do meet? What does Gregor do for a living? Is he married? Does he have children? We know Meredith does. The interplay in emails definitely allows you to 'picture' the different things that they're talking about. It is funny to read in some instances and definitely erotic in others. When they get around to taboo acts and Christian College campuses, things get interesting. The sexual innuendos and puns are a hoot. The music choices for certain spots in the book are priceless. This was a really fun book to read.I'm not going to say anything else for fear of spoiling what Meredith's BDSM side is like and what happens. I am thinking Todd, Mer's husband is just a donkey for the way he treats her or doesn't talk to her or just ignores her most of the time. Be prepared for what Lorinda decides to do with Bennett Bridal at the end. WOAH!
4.5 stars - "There's no lonelier existence than being a stay at home mom and a traveling widow."
description
With those word, J.M. opened up a world of imagination and drew us into the world of a lonely housewife named Meredith and her distressed over her husband's constant travel and his inability to give her what she craved in the bedroom.
Under the Influence
I had cravings, desires, and a curiosity to explore deeper into BDSM.
Entering into a relationship with a man she met online, Meredith finds herself doing all the things she dreamed about. Gregor made her feel, made her want, made her real. Gregor also had rules that needed to be followed to the TEE.
With a playlist that was to die for and erotic moments, the drama was real and made for a good read. I highly recommend this book. I am a dedicated MM follower, but this was a must read and was worth the trip.
Oh my....Every once in a while you read a book that you just aren't sure about. This is that book. These type of books getting you thinking, sometimes they throw you into a moral dilemma and sometimes they create a dynamic shift in your thinking. For me it was a little bit of both. I found that when I was finished I ended up very emotional, pondering many things and somehow changed.
The authors storyline caused me to think about what society believes and how society effects others feelings about themselves and what they desire. Though this book won't be for everyone it will be just what some people need.
This book doesn't not end in an expected way. But it ends in a perfect way for Gregor and Meredith.
For me the one downfall was that I had a hard time getting into the book because I am use to dialog and verbiage while this is predominately a bunch of emails and text messages which though very appropriate for this story caused my mind to wander too much and lose focus. I kept putting it down and it took me to about 80 percent into the book before I truly connected.
For this reason I am giving it 3-1/2 STARS. I think you should read this book for yourself and decide.
4 ½ Stars- Great read!!
My Secret Submission was my first J.M. Witt story! I loved this story!! This book will not be for all readers as it contains cheating and BDSM.
Meredith is a busy wife, mother, PTA president, editor, and writer. She is the type of woman that takes care of everyone but herself. She turns to the one person who is supposed to take of her, her husband, to only constantly get rejected. Meredith has needs… darker needs than some… and that is something her husband is just not willing to explore. When Meredith turns to the internet, she meets Gregor. Gregor is also in a marriage that does not allow him to participate in his BDSM lifestyle. After a few emails they agree to meet and they quickly learn how much their lives are intertwined. Their relationship began as a naughty release and quickly became something they couldn’t let go of.
I enjoyed the twists and turns in this book-some which I never saw coming. I would say the BDSM was mild but HOT!! The emails between Meredith and Gregor were sexy and full of lust. My only reason for a giving the book a 4 ½ is because Meredith’s “homework” at points became repetitive.
I would definitely recommend this book!!
What to say about this book? While adjectives are abundant, none really seem to cover it.
When I first started it, it was nothing like I expected it to be. I had been teased and teased about the content for what seemed like forever, but those teasers didn't hold a candle to the way things would be played out. This book is like a living person in the way of you cannot simply look at the surface; you have to look deeper. It's not all glamour and gold. It is raw, emotional, and steals a piece of you when it's over.
This book explores buried and hidden desires, picking apart Mer's inner person and bringing to life a new being she didn't know was there. We should all be so lucky. And, while there are things within the pages that will make you angry, they will also ignite a part of your own soul long forgotten and shoved aside for the mundane and comfortable.
I would truly, and wholly, recommend this book to anyone that feels trapped, because this is a true escape from reality that I was unable to put down... and have since begged and pleaded for more of a certain minor character that stole my attention from the moment the person came in.
Five Fantastic Stars! Meredith is a married woman and mother with secret fantasies and desires that her husband does not know. Todd is your typical "vanilla" man who does not like to do anything that pushes the boundaries of normalcy and Meredith wants and needs more "kink". Meredith then turns to an online BDSM site and ends up meeting Gregor, whom ends up igniting the flame inside her. Will Meredith discover what she has been missing or will it end up being more than she can handle? Ms. Witt writes a fantastic story that is scorching hot and kept me wanting more. Be forewarned this book contains BDSM and adultery. There are twists and turns in the book that I never would have expected and I could not put the book down. All I can tell you is that this is a story you can not pass up! Highly recommend it!
I received this book as an ARC for an honest review. This book was read and reviewed by Annamaria for Alpha Book Club.
Rush, desperate, hold your breath, fight, heart beating fast, sadness, frustration, need, more, desire, hot, squirming.... Just some of the emotions experienced while reading. This story has an unhappy woman searching for what's missing. Warning- it includes infidelity. I myself am not ok or drawn to those books BUT I don't have a complaint about it here. This story sucks you in and I think it's mostly because it feels very real. Give it a chance and you will be her advocate, you will be worried for her at the edge of the seat. Excited with her through every page and every exchange. Again- it sells you a reality that is taboo to many but when you open your mind and look around, you wonder how many explore it (and I'm talking about so much more than having someone other than your partner). As you go on this journey with Meredith you will want to feel as she does, overwhelmed and absorbed when she experiences the benefits of her new discoveries.
4 ½ Stars- Great read!!
My Secret Submission by J.M. Witt is a hot and very sexy story that takes you on a much unexpected ride between two married people… but no to each other. This book will not be for all readers as it contains cheating and BDSM.
Meredith is lonely… She knows that her marriage is lacking passion and lust that she so desires. Meredith knows her desires are dark… darker than her husband is willing to explore. She knows she needs more. She turns to a website to explore what else is out there. She meets Gregor. A relationship that begins with looking for release quickly becomes something that neither can let go of.
The twists and turns and took me to place I did not suspect. I absolutely enjoyed the story and the characters. There is quite a bit of email exchange in this story and the banter between Mer and Gregor is hot and sexy. But at times Meredith’s “homework” became repetitive.
I would highly recommend this book!!
This was such a naughty, exciting read! The author took all my dark little taboo fantasies and bundled them all together in this sizzling hot book! The writing was very descriptive, the dialogue full and well-rounded and the characters were so complex and intriguing, they definitely feel like real people. The romance and sexy bantering is so hot, it left me needing to turn up my AC and grab a cold glass of ice water before I got too weak-kneed! Also, there's quite a few twists that left me gasping and gripping my tablet with white knuckles!This was a very well written, spicy look into the taboo world of BDSM and adultery that I highly recommend to anybody that has ever had a dark fantasy! I definitely want to read more from this author!
This was an excellent story about a woman that had the strength to take control of her life and make changes that others might not approve of but they were what she needed. Meredith was unsatisfied with her sexual relationship with her husband. While she was curious and experimental her husband was stuck in one position. Meredith begins a friendship with Gregor that ultimately leads them both to different places in their life. What begins as a flirty fling develops into deeper emotions. This story could actually be applied to lots of marriages and I felt like I was drawn into Meredith’s life and her struggles. It was full of unexpected twists and some laughs that kept the story moving. I enjoyed it and think others will too.
This book was different then I expected when I read what it was about but I still enjoyed the BDSM and interaction between Meredith and Gregor. So many secrets, sneaking off to see each other, emails, hotel rooms, late night meeting in parks or the backseat of the pickup.
You may look at this book as the characters cheating or you can look at it how it is. Sometimes you try your hardest with your spouse and they still can’t meet your desires or needs no matter how much you ask. Everyone deserves something for themselves even Meredith after she tried so hard to get her husband on board with what she was into.
I was given this book in exchange for my honest opinion. First off let me just say this that if you dont like BDSM theme reads or a read that has cheating in it then this isnt for you. But as you can see since I am reviewing it this is my thing. There was so much emotion swirling in this book that it will just grab you and pull you in. I wasnt able to out it down till my eyes decided that they had had enough and started going blurry on me..lol The teasers I had been seeing do not compare to what is inside this book.
I received a copy for an honest review. Meredith's marriage is dull and though she doesn't want to stray,she wants more out of life and for herself. She opens an account on an online dating site to explore her sexuality and she meets Gregor, he's smart, funny, mysterious and will help her explore her kinky side. Their chemistry is off the charts. The whole story is told by Meredith and her POV and you know very little about Gregor's wife and his "other" life. Maybe there is a few more chapters to this story to come ? I was left with a missing piece, but and all around good book.
It started out a bit slower than the other books J.M. has written, but it really picked up and pulled you in and held you until the very end.
I really enjoyed reading the ARC I received for my honest review.
Meredith and Gregor really heated things up. There were many twists and turns that you really didn't see coming until they jumped out at the last minute.
I would definitely read this over and over again.
OMG! I fell in love with Meredith and Gergor. Soooo very different in such a wonderful way. I love how they have the playful banter that goes between them. From page one I was hooked. It's so hot, sexy, and leaves your head spinning. This is definitely an one-click buy! If you love BDSM books then this is the perfect one for you to read. Can't wait to read more from JM Witt. Keep up the awesome work!!!
This story takes you on quite the journey. You go through all the steps with her, all the changes she's going through, all the new things she learns & discovers. A fascinating journey, worth checking out
A new to me author with a blurb that pulled me in I wanted to know more. At times funny, definately sexy with some risqué hot scenes. If you don't like cheating then this is not for you but look beneath that and you will find a story that a lot of people will identify with.
I am seriously struggling with how to rate this book. On the one hand I admire the uniqueness of the whole story, on the other hand I couldn’t completely get into it.
The story dragged and was repetitive at times (there was one email exchange very early on where she had to describe what she did to herself over and over… and over again… at one point I couldn’t help but roll my eyes and wishing she would get it over and done with already).
But that’s not all: I knew this book contained cheating and although I do not agree that cheating is the right thing to do – not even for keeping the marriage somehow together for the children’s sake –, I am usually fine reading about it. And well… You do not get to know much about their respective spouse, which is fine by me, but at more than one point in the book Meredith does something (I’m trying to be as vague as possible here to avoid spoilers and still get my point across) that just does not sit right with me… I don’t care that it was even encouraged by Gregor. This was the point I lost the connection I built to the story.
“If two can accept that they can’t be everything to each other and TRULY be okay with that – they stop trying to live up to the impossible ideal and the pressure that comes with it. Instead, they can focus on the positives and accentuate those.”
A truer sentence about marriage and relationship has rarely been spoken. It applies to any aspect in a relationship, not only to sexual desires.
Gregor writes this in one of his emails to Meredith. Only – if he himself truly lived by that sentence, he would not be cheating on this own wife… Instead, they would have agreed on him satisfying his primal and taboo needs elsewhere.
Gregor would have had an albeit open but honest, no-cheating marriage then, wouldn’t he?
So yes, this book and I surely had our differences… so where do those three stars come from?
Because, as I said in the beginning, this book is truly unique – one-of-a-kind.
It interweaves daily marriages problems and cheating with something forbidden and taboo. While I wouldn’t classify the BDSM as hardcore, it definitely is not fluffy “I am going to try something new” either. It hurts and you literally feel Meredith’s pain. This book pushes boundaries in many aspects, and to me it was never that obvious where the path was going to take them. For sure, I did not expect this kind of ending: It is one true-to-life, somewhat “happy for now” ending, which absolutely fits the story, although I just might have wished otherwise.
My favorite parts of the story were their email conversations, this almost endless back and forth between those two; you could feel their connection on more than just the primal level. Their banter made me chuckle more than once.
The second part I absolutely loved was Meredith meeting Gregor for the first time. My heart just might have pounded almost as fast as hers.
This book is the journey of a married woman, trapped in an unloving marriage, deciding to and finally exploring her own darker desires and finding herself in the process.
Meredith’s descriptions of her daily tasks – bringing the kids to school, doing grocery shopping, doing the household – could have you really think she was the woman next door:
Her story is one pulled from real life with added kink and taboo.
Keep in mind that this book does contain adultery (I want to point out once again it was not the cheating on Meredith’s husband which bugged me!), throughout and repeatedly, as well as consensual BDSM; if that is fine by you and you are looking for a controversial read that is all but predictable, this is the book for you.
