The Book Junkie Reads . . .
Now I have completed the first part of this Harlequin Kimani Romance . . .

Illusion of Love was just that. With a name like Valentine you would feel that love would be at your door step. Well this was not true for Valentine Anderson. She was unlucky enough to have not one or two breakups in close proximity to Valentine's day but this year was different. Her sister was to marry on the day and she was without a date. The pity, the displeasure, the let down of yet another relationship was all just

Sweet and sexy! I really enjoyed this story. Malone captured Val(Valentine) and Bennett's individual stories, while also intertwining theirs. Bennett had me giggling in almost every chapter. You could feel the chemistry between them! Malone has done it again!

Illusion of Love tells the story of Valentine and Bennet. This read was short, but well written. The couple was fun and enjoyable to read. They had great chemistry with love scenes to match! Nana Malone consistently delivers a story well worth the theme and money. Treat yourself to this book!

THIS IS LOVE

BOTH STORIES KEPT MY FAITH IN THE HOPES OF FINDING LOVE ON OR AROUND VALENTINE'S DAY. LOVE OF ALL THINGS IS SPECIAL FOR EVERYONE.

Thoroughly Too Short

In both stories wanted the story to continue. Love and fate goes hand and hand it seems. People also need to be put in their place at times.

I liked Illusion of Love (Nana Malone). Valentine and Bennett were funny and couldn't seem to realize that sometimes opposites attract.
From My Heart (Siemna Mynx) - This was just ok.

Two short love stories by two different authors makes for an interesting read. I was given this book early for a review. It took me a while to get there because I hate physical books. I have never read anything by Nana Malone. I liked her story, even if it did have a bit of the cheese factor going on. Valentine and Bennett seem to have gotten themselves into a bind and they take the strange route of teaming up to help solve each others "problems". Well you're never suppose to date your ...more

2 great novellas! Both stories had heroines who just didn't have luck in love. Each found that love comes from the most unexpected moments in life.

Illusions of Love by Nana Malone- Valentine Anderson learns she has been dating the same type of man since forever with the same disappointing results. Good thing she has a sexy neighbor who rescues her from her latest disaster and then she becomes involved in helping him out of a sticky situation. Things get out of hand quickly and the two opposites

This is a wonderful contemporary romance between two extremely different people. Bennett is a photographer by trade and has made his mark. Yet, he is still striving to prove himself professionally. Over the last decade he has perfected being a well seen playboy with beautiful models and the like. Valentine has chosen the path of being an exceptional food blogger yet blogs on unlimited things. Ever since she was young her entire focus was proving to her parents that she was "good enough" for them ...more

I received a copy of Illusions of Love and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is a sweet love story. Sometimes we find the one person we need when we really aren't looking for it.
Valentine has no luck in relationships. Her last two ended on her namesake day and current one seems to be going the same way. How can Val get through this break-up with James. Enter Bennett
Bennett is a photographer who is a player but even he has his rules and won't be with a married woman. When his boss' wife comes

This is a review of Illusion of Love. I absolutely loved this quick read about two opposites being thrown together by circumstances they couldn't have predicted. This was such a fun and steamy read. Valentine and Bennett are neighbors who have very little interaction and preconceived notions about one another until Bennett uses Val to get his boss' wife from hitting on him and Val uses Bennett to keep her family's constant badgering about not having a man. As these two get more comfortable in ...more

I love Opposites Attract and I love Enemy to Lover genres and this book gives you both!!! a two-fer! Valentine and Bennett are neighbors who don't like each other she calls the condo association on him for his partying and loud music, this is were their dislike begins and similarities end. These two are polar opposites in every way but when desperate times call for desperate measures these feuding neighbors put aside there many differences to be there for each other. Along the way feelings fall ...more

Valentine never quite makes it through Valentine's day, at least not with her current relationship in tact. More devastating than ending another relationship is knowing she will have to face her belittling family at her sister's wedding--without a date. That is until she makes a deal with the neighbor who drives her crazy with his loud music and player ways. He just happens to need someone to protect him from his bosses' wife who has the hots for him and has no qualms about going after him.

This was short, sweet and to the point. Valentine is smart, insecure and wants to be more adventurous. Bennett is arrogant, not looking for anything serious. Not sure how Nana Malone did it but she gave backstory that explains why Valentine and Bennett are the way they are. I liked the conflict between Bennett and Andriana. My biggest complaint is I would have liked the conflict between Bennett and Adriana to have been expanded. I really liked the best friends Trevor and Mel they were both tell ...more

This was a very quick read. Midway through chapter one, I was hooked. This was a humorous, sweet love story.

Bennett and Valentine had a lot of chemistry. They both had preconceived notions about the other person's character and personality. They were pleasantly surprised to find out how wrong they were about each other.

Val's mother and sister were both a piece of work. The story ended a little too suddenly for me. I wish it had been longer. I also hope Trevor gets his own story. Overall, I did

Voluntarily reviewed this book as an ARC.

Bennett and Valentine were neighbors that were each in a bind of sorts. Bennett is having some wicked moves being put on him by his boss's wife that he is trying desperately to evade while Valentine is being dumped (again) outside her apartment door. Grand idea? Bennett and Valentine embark on the fake relationship ! That should throw everyone off! She will help keep boss wife away if he goes to sister wedding with her, sounds good? They each have baggage

Nothing like a good ole fake relationship. These neighbors discover that although they are different in most ways, their friendship can benefit them both, very nicely. Valentine seems to be a magnet for boring, commit phobia guys. Bennett is not into relationships and never sleeps over. He gets the shock of life when he approaches his uptight neighbor & strike a deal. The getting to know you part was fun and informative. Enjoyed this, I just wish it was longer because I didn't want it to ...more

"I'm in love with you. That's the fact. And it scares me. It's terrifying, really. Love. It's far easier to block every emotion out. The problem is you don't truly live like that."

The above passage described love perfectly and we are doing ourselves (fictional characters and folks in real life) a disservice if we attempt to block it. This book has the potential to be something great, but somehow along the way it missed the mark. On a positive note, this was a very quick read and it served its

I really enjoyed this story, I've only read "Illusion of love" by Nana Malone. It is a hot sexy interracial read about Bennett and Valentine who didn't like each other but from one kiss they learned don't judge a book by its cover. They need each other in more ways than one and watching them fall in love is what kept me turning the pages. I hope Trevor gets a story.

I really enjoyed Valentine and Bennet love story. They star very tough way but the more they get to know each other the more they enjoy their relationship. And they have to face some ghost from their past but they fight it together. A very funny and charming story.

I wish the second book was a little longer and characters were more developed. Both stories were about family and how they can tear up relationships or have it going.

Nana's love of all things romance and adventure started with a tattered romantic suspense she borrowed from her cousin. It was a sultry summer afternoon in Ghana, and Nana was a precocious thirteen. She's been in love with kick butt heroines ever since. With her overactive imagination, and channeling her inner Buffy, it was only a matter a time before she started creating her own characters.
