Now what I expected based on the title. I thought it would be more home/house/husband centered but this book was aimed at raising children. As I don't have any, a lot of it did not pertain to me, but as it was a small book, I read it anyway. Lots of good info on having a family Bible study/family time and incorporating activities, songs, and prayer into the mix so it doesn't get stagnant. Excellent book for families with children.

A concise, accessible little volume on the call to parents to disciple their children. Rienow managed to fit quite a bit--the purpose of the family, biblical and historical encouragement to take the practice of family worship seriously, and concrete tips on what elements to include and on setting reasonable goals--within a very brief compass. A great little primer.

This is a short, easy-to-read book about what God intends for each family He creates. It provides foundational ideas for Christian parents and helps to inform me as a children’s ministry director. It’s the tip of the iceberg and hopefully starts a journey of learning more about growing in God as a family.
