Remember Nellie from Book #1 and her Roommate Maddie Malone ? In Book #2 we have Maddie's story. After we left her in Book #1 , Maddie managed to score a Nannying gig for America's Sweetheart couple Dan and Annabelle aka Dannabelle. Things though didn't go to great for her and that's definitely an understatement as she was caught in the middle of a nasty divorce and in order for Annabelle to look like the good one in the relationship, she started a rumour that Maddie had slept with her husband. ...more

With so many Nannygate scandals appearing in the news over the last few years I was excited to read So Far Away and had high expectations. Did it live up to my expectations? Well yes, sort of.

I loved the concept and many parts of the story were sweet, charming and engaging. I really felt for Maddie and wanted her to move on from the horrible situation she's trapped in.

At other times I found myself a little confused by the rapid speed of events and wasn't entirely convinced by Maddie. She was obv

Okay. I’m going to be perfectly and painfully honest here. I think I’m too old for this book. A 20-something woman who refers to a famous author who is in his 50s as an old guy? Yeah, I’m too old. Maddie seemed superficial and not very smart, despite the two Master’s degrees the reader had to hear about over and over again. I expected some depth from her after enduring the Nannygate scandal. It can’t be easy to survive paparazzi following you everywhere and becoming unemployable. Between the hor ...more

The book was everything the author said it was going to be and I truly enjoyed reading! The story was easy to enjoy. The book was cute and fun. Nothing heavy and low drama. This book is a perfect pick me up if you need a break from your regular reading. I will definitely will be checking out the next book in this series.

A sweet story with comedy thrown in about two people who barely know one another, will come to help and protect each another in that time of need.
In this second book you have a woman named Maddie. She loves California. So when she got the job as a live in nanny, she is ecstatic. But scandal follows everyone, even if it's not hers. When she gets hired by a reclusive writer, she meets his love child from another woman. A world wind of love is about to go down but what about the role of no hanky pa

Annabelle and Daniel are the Dannabelle (Brangelina) of this story. Who is this 'Naughty Nanny' that is telling us the story? What happened, according to the tabloids and paparazzi? What really happened? Who does our Naughty Nanny turn to after Nannygate? Her best friend and her best friend's boyfriend. These are Nelli and Roscoe. Both are screen writers. What happens in this story is just as much fun to read as what happened in the first book of this series. We find out her name is Maddie when ...more
I'm not sure what it was about this novel. I love Dakota Madison's novels, but this one I just wasn't all that into. It was well written, some great characters, and a great story line with Maddie Malone. There was just something slightly missing for me that didn't make this a 5 Bar read. Other than whatever it is that I'm attempting to get over that I felt was missing, this novel was a good novel.

Maddie is in desperate need of a job. She used to be a nanny in LA for power couple Daniel Robinson and Annabelle Miller, but she is in the middle of a scandal right now. She “supposedly” slept with Daniel and not only does everyone in the media world know, but every person who interviews her for a job knows and doesn’t want the home-wrecking nanny working for them.

Maddie Malone has been given the title of Naughty Nanny. Working for a very well loved pair of movie stars, the wife accuses her of sleeping with her husband. She quickly becomes national news, and everyone hates her. She is unemployable, until she's offered the job of personal assistant to reclusive writer, Jackson Drake. Maddie can't afford to lose this job, so she is determined to follow every one of Jackson's rules, including no "hanky-panky". When his secret son from an affair he had years

Maddie Malone is in the middle of a huge papparrazi firestorm since being named as the nanny who broke up Hollywood's favorite couple Daniel Robinson and Annabelle Miller. Thrust into a spotlight she doesn't want she can't get a job anywhere once people figure out who she is but a friend gets her hired on as the personal assistant to reclusive writer Jackson Drake.

Jackson Drake doesn't have many rules at all but the number one rule is no hanky panky. Maddie is positive that won't be a problem un

Maddie has lost her job as a nanny when the lady of the house accuses her of sleeping with the husband. She immediately files for divorce and Maddie's picture is plastered all over tabloids everywhere as the Naughty Nanny. Unable to find a job, she moves in with her friend and friends boyfriend. Can she find a job or are the Naughty Nanny rumors going to ruin her reputation forever?

I have to be really honest here. I saw who the main character was and I almost didn't read this book. I didn't care

Book two of the California Dreamers series follows Maddie, who we met in the first book of the series. In the last book, Maddie was convinced that being a nanny to a star is her ticket to the big time, and she thought she was on the right track when she took a job with Hollywood's latest power couple. She had just gotten the job in that book. Fast forward a few months to the beginning of this book, and we discover that couple had a nasty divorce...and the wife accused Maddie of screwing with her ...more

This was my first Dakota Madison book and I must say it was good. Since this was my first I didn't read the first and I can honestly say that I wasn't lost at all. I could still enjoy this book. If you aren't a fan of insta love than this isn't for you. The main characters seemed to fall in love extremely fast and it was almost too fast for me but this is a book, not reality so it didn't bother me.

I really enjoyed this fun, quirky read from Dakota Madison.

Maddie is being blamed for the break up of Hollywood’s beloved super couple, even though she did not do what she is being accused of. As a result, she loses her cushy job as the super couple’s nanny. She is hiding out from the paparazzi and really needs a job, like yesterday. She takes a job with a recluse author, Jackson Drake, which is really the perfect job. Then Drake’s son shows up and boom, sparks are a-flyin’, romance is a-bloomin
Reviews from the Heart (Kimberly Anne)
So Far Away is the second book in the California Dreamer’s series. This book tells us the story of Maddie (we get to see her in the first book in this series). I am usually a little reluctant to read a story that involves Hollywood. There is something about the story about actors/actresses that usually seems so similar. Dakota gives us a story that I have yet to read anything similar. There is scandal, there is heat, there is humor, and there is some heartbreak.

This was a great novella. Maddie is a fun and quirky main character. I like how Dakota manages to add depth to the characters in such a short time. After the nanygate scandal Maddie is desperate for any job and takes one on with reclusive writer Jackson Drake. Their first meeting is pretty great and his rules especially # 3 are funny. When Emerson shows up there is instant chemistry with Maddie Their relationship progresses quickly into more then just a hookup. I admit I wish there was a little ...more
