Looking for a fast-paced murder mystery? Look no further than DEATH BY BIKINI! I know if nothing else, the title alone should make you stop and consider the book.

Aphra Connolly and her father live on a tropical island. Her father left his resort in South Carolina to open the remote hotel four years ago. Most people would envy Aphra's life at the beach. But Aphra has no friends, no social life, and little to occupy her time except for the day-to-day operati

Not really sure how to rate this because it's really not a genre I read very often, so I can't tell if I found this book boring because it was bad, or just because it's not for me. I think it's the latter in this case. It was interesting in a way, and served its purpose as a quick, easy read, but it wasn't something I would read again, and I probably won't continue with this series.

Imagine if Nancy Drew tried to stop an international crime ring, ran afoul of frightening assassins, stuck her nose in everything and got in all kinds of sticky situations because of her meddling - oh wait, Nancy did all those things. Well, the Death by Bikini Mysteries are a kind of updated version of the Nancy Drew mysteries I loved as a kid. The meddler/heroine, Aphra Behn Connolly (lit reference alert!) is just as kick ass as Nancy and the stories are extremely fast-paced and exciting. The c ...more

In Death by Bikini my favorite part was when Aphra Connolly finds out who Adam and his family really are. She is shocked and starts calling Adam, Seth. His full name is Seth Mulo. They both are in love but their parents don't want them to be together since what happened between the two families. Mr. Mulo is trying to keep their identity a secret but Aphra already knows about it and that could end up deadly. All of these new problems keep springing up and the person who is behind it is after the ...more

Death by bikini may sound like a strange book but it is very suspenseful and quite a thriller.
You may think it would be so cool to live on a resort island and be in the sun all day. But not for Aphra, she works at her dad’s resort, which happens to be the only resort on the whole island. She was just wishing for a normal life and she thought she had gotten her life when a new boy and his family moved onto the island. But she had little time to enjoy it when Aphra found one of her favorite guest

This book is amazing!! Death by Bikini is about Aphra and Seth. Aphra is a 16 year old girl living on an island with out any boys except her guest she attends to. Did I say that her dad owns a hotel on that island? Well Seth is just a very good looking guy who he and his family ends up in her dads hotel one night. Then strange things start happening the day after they arrive. It's a really fast page book because every page is better than the last and next thing you know your down with the book. ...more

what a fun light read full of mystery and fun characters. It's a very quick read with a quirky main character called Alphra.

Adam/Seth was a cute addition to the usual mystery and the tropical setting was just wonderful to read when it's cold where I live right now!

This was a cute, quick little mystery. It was definitely engaging, and the mystery kept me going even when I wasn't clicking 100% with the main character. She wasn't very 'deep' as far as character development, but she was likeable enough that it didn't put me off reading. Seth, the dad, and the other characters were also needed for plot, but didn't really get me invested. Darlene was actually my favorite. But the highlight of this is definitely the mystery, not the characters.

Not a very surprising read, all in all, despite the exotic setting, there is a bit of romance but it must not be your only interest if you're going to read this book. As for the plot,it is neat,no loose ends left to the wind....
It lacks the little "something more" to make it a really good book,in my opinion at least..
It does makes a good teenage/YA summer read though, easy to read and fast paced

I can't be trusted to write a review for this story because I read this at a time when I had some seriously questionable tastes. I remember really loving this story.

But I feel like like this one was genuinely good.

Interesting plot + cool characters + cute romance =perfect for my attention-deficient brain, at the time.

This feels like a hastily written book due to the plot holes and big narrative jumps. The characters and their relationships are not developed well. It is what you read at the beach when you don't really want to think that much. At just over a hundred pages, you can read it in an afternoon by the pool.
I was debating between 2 and 3 stars, and I decided on a 3 because I think the intended audience would like it. As an adult, I rolled my eyes quite a bit, but I think teens would like a mystery like this. It's short, fast-paced, and there is a cute little romance.

I was excited about this modern take on a Nancy Drew mystery, and while it was an enjoyable-ish fast-paced story, I found it predictable and kind of cheesy.

I think I will give the second one a try, but so far I’m not super impressed.

This book was okay. A really fast read. It reminded me a little bit of the Virals series by Kathy Reichs

For being YA crime / mystery, I thought it was pretty good. The romance in it seemed a little unnecessary, but it was fairly fast-paced and entertaining.

Death by Bikini, the type of name that you happen to see and makes you want to see if it's interesting. Oh, it is too. Mystery at every turn and family drama. Death by Bikini is one of those book that just draws you in if you like mystery of course. Something to read if you're in the mood for trying to solve a murder or just want a good read.

Death by Bikini starts out on regular day with a girls named Aphra, who's life is great. She lives on an island and her father owns a resort so they meet

I'm an avid mystery reader (Agatha Christie, Nancy Drew and A-Z Mysteries anyone?) and having not read a good mystery novel in over a month, I bumped this up on my ever-growing TBR pile. I wasn't disappointed, but it definitely wasn't what I was expecting.

The plot boils down to basically this: A girl is found dead on the beach of a private island resort owned by Aphra's father, seemingly choked by her bikini straps. Everyone believes the straps simply got tangled and that it was an accident. Aph

Aphra has been living on a lovely secluded island for four years now. Her father owns a luxurious resort where retired big names and rich people come for a getaway. It sounds like a dream life but in reality, Aphra finds it quite lonely.

Her boring life changes when the secretive Smith family comes to stay at the resort. They have a very attractive son named Adam. Even though, Aphra can not get it out of her head that the family is hiding something.

Not shortly after their arrival, one of the reso

The first time I saw the book, I never thought or even imagined how interesting it would be. I didn't think I would really finish the book, but with time I realized that it was an amazing book. The way of writing is very interesting and fun because the writer explains the smallest detail of what is happening. The structure of the place the characters are in; what colour it is, how it is made, how tall, big, small or even how dull or bright it is, what they are wearing; its colour, the type of cl ...more

Murder at a great beach resort should be a perfect premise for a cozy murder mystery, not to mention a hot guy should be a big plus. Unfortunately, upon finishing this book, I find myself utterly disappointed because the plot is just too thin and with plenty of holes. I listen to the audiobook version so I may misspell the name of some characters.
