There are some good tips in this book. I apply the stuff i read to my mountain cycling. I can really feel the difference in my riding, endurance and speed after starting to use some of the techniques from the book. Even if your not training for good sports results it's a good book to make cycling more enjoyable.
A nice little how to get the best out of your bike for the absolute beginner ie me. A book to keep close so you can dip in and out of as you need or want.
