Wedding Promise is the 8th book in the Search for Love series by Karen Rose Smith. This is the first book of the series that I've read, although I did read “Her Sister” afterward to learn more of the background. The Search for Love novels are unique as each has a twist with a combination of a suspenseful mystery and contemporary romance woven into a heartwarming story. Ms. Smith delivers a realistic look at individuals struggling with relationships in a variety of situations. The Wedding Promise ...more
The Wedding Promise by Karen Rose Smith is a 2016 publication. I was provided a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This story is the much anticipated sequel to “Her Sister” and picks up soon after the Thaddeus family is reunited, at long last.

Beth Crandall discovers her birth family and is working to create a bond with them, and maintain the normal relationship with her adoptive parents. However, there are some past issues she is trying to resolve as well.

In each of the Search For Love stories, numerous difficulties keep developing in the lives of ordinary people. The eighth book of the series begins right where the previous story ended, and it has obstacles that are particularly poignant plus very realistic at all times. Its main two characters must make life-altering decisions in the midst of unanticipated romantic feelings, and these individuals were so easy for me to adore. Karen Rose Smith frequently delves into true-to-life experiences whic ...more
I really enjoyed the book The wedding Promise . I thought it started with wedding of Max and Max renewing their vows to Sam and Beth marrying each other . I was interesting too in each character in the story to tell and how the memories of beth started to resurfaces while trying to find her best friend Hannah and rescuing her from abuser boyfriend in Virginia Beach.

While this is part of a series, it carries itself well as a stand alone novel of many layers.
The beginning is sweet, and heartwarming, and an easily read romance story not only about a girl who was afraid to allow men to get close to her, due to a traumatic childhood incident, but also about other kinds of love a person needs in their life.
Beth is not the only one with scars and insecurities.
After reading this lovely novel I will be reading the rest of the series. I care deeply about each char

She feels guilty that she still refers to her adoptive parents, Irene and Roger, as mom and dad while calling her birth parents by their given names.

This is a very powerful and moving book. The author shows us the progression a young girl takes through life after tragic events. I have not read the first seven books in this series but plan on reading them after this one. The events in this book are so real and true to life as these characters have to go through physical scars but also emotional scars as a result of a kidnapping.
Beth Crandall has already gone through a lifetime of tragedy and abandonment. She was taken from her biological fam

The Wedding Promise is a wonderful, beautiful, angst filled romance. Life hasn't been easy for the Thaddeus family since their three year old daughter was kidnapped over 26 years ago. While they had never given up, they could not believe the day a woman watched them interviewed on TV and called to say, "I think I am you daughter".
