A wonderful page turner!
Another terrific collection of short stories by the highly imaginative Nicholas Rossis. This author is slowly developing into a master of suspense and unexpected twists. This was another page turner, and I loved the darker stories among them most. I can very well imagine Rossis developing into a horror writer one day. The more chilling samples of his published work sure point that way. I've read all his books and enjoy his short stories the most. If you love to be

An enjoyable collection of short stories that are entertaining. Two men are out fishing and exchange "scary tales," and the ending to their fishing trip is quite amazing. My favorite of the short tales was the Halloween story which was quite imaginative and profound. Thank you for a fun read.

More amazingly diverse short tales

Perfect for getting away from it all, into space, travelling through time, or inside someone elses head, without leaving your comfortable chair.

Truthful Lies. What an original way to title a book.

Most of the stories were entertaining...however, For the last time was the funniest story I've read in years. I'll read anything I can find from Mr. Nicholas Rissi.

I received a free copy of this book from the author in return for a review.

Two men go on a fishing trip together, telling tall tales to pass the time. Each of their science fiction stories is more amazing and strange than the last. But is there more to their own simple fishing trip than first seems?

Oh my goodness Honest Fibs is just amazing! Its a collection of science fiction short stories and almost all of them has a really good twist. Ive always loved short stories that come with a twist, but

Mixing metaphysics, brutal action, humour, and sudden reveals, but maintaining a focus on accessible characters, Rossis offers a collection of speculative fiction that will appeal to many palates.

This collection contains five short stories set within the eponymous sixth, along with four stories extracted from his other collections.

Honest Fibs: When the fish stop biting, two fishermen pass the time by telling tall tales, only to find themselves drawn into one of their own.

Some great writing but a confused identity.

I have to admit that this book confused me a little in its format. Its rather two books in one and Im not sure how well it works.

The first half of the book has a background story two men (John and Bob) whiling away the hours of a fishing trip by competing with one another to tell the best honest-to-God true story (Honest Fibs). The stories are pretty short, well-written and easy to read. There are some gems in there but with enough variety that each

In a 1953 article Isaac Asimov wrote for Modern Science Fiction, he claimed there were essentially three types of science fictiongadget (focus is on the science itself), adventure (the science is just a dramatic deus ex machina), and social science fiction (how the science element affects peoples daily lives).

For science fiction lovers and anyone who just likes a good little storywell-told, and preferably with a twist at the endNicholas Rossis new collection is a gourmet collection that treats

Rossis takes us into his stories by putting John and Bob together on a fishing trip, While waiting to catch something, the guys begin exchanging stories to one another, Are they stories? Or are they true?
The stories all have the elements of a sci-fi nature, yet the well-crafted story lines will have you finding some dark humour, and hints of human compassion entwined to keep you hooked to the clever endings.
Pay close attention to the first chapter. Nothing is ever as it seems. The last chapter

This book is an eclectic collection of short stories that are imaginative, creative, unusual and spine tingling by talented writer, Nicholas Rossis. These stories are a quick read that kept this reader swiftly turning pages.

I have read other books by this creative author who also writes children' books with a special and engaging flair. He writes in an easy flowing manner that enables the reader to feel as if he/she is a part of the story.

I look forward to more reading enjoyment from his future

This is a wonderful collection of short reads with one tale serving as framework for the others. John and Bob are on a fishing trip and begin swapping stories to pass the time. Cleverly done with fishing interludes between each short story, this is a fast-reading book that is hard to put down. The author knows how to spin satisfying tales with wonderful twists. My favorite was "Twinsies," but all of the stories (including the main one) are gems.

Another fabulous collection

Nicholas Rossis has done it again. I've enjoyed all of his collections of short fiction, and this one is every bit as good as the prior collections. Perfect reading for those times when you can't dedicate an afternoon to a novel.
