This is for every mother who ever wished they could transform dinner into a more spiritual experience. I feel as if many families will now have Sunday dinner with more purpose if they use the 52 lessons in this book.

Each lesson has a theme ranging from topics like one of the ten focusing on a commandments to how to live a Christian life (example: doing small things with love) to Catholic teachings (example: honoring Mary). There's a paragraph for contemplation, opening prayer, table teaching to

As you cook, chat and pray your way through this book, you and your family will learn about virtues, Church tradition, sacraments, works of mercy, prayers, forming consciences and more. My favorite part of each chapter is the “Extra Credit” where family members are invited to go beyond the lesson and carry out what is learned in some aspect of daily life. These activities can be done by anyone old enough to be in school.

I am working my way through this book of daily prayers and family ideas. It has been fun doing the cooking together. It was a good start to praying and just in general spending time together with the family and it was a great conversation starter.

This highly inspirational book will be the glue that keeps the family together. The premise is that of keeping the family dinner active and spiritual at the same time. With a daily chapter centered on the meal and prayer, the Christian family can be assured of a deep connection to the Lord's heart. Each chapter includes a subject to contemplate, prayers and questions to consider within the family hour. Donna-Marie Cooper O'Boyle has created a special publication that can be kept by the dinner ta ...more
