Pin the Tail on the Donkey wasn’t how Frazer Krause expected to spend a Friday night out with Dulcie Hilgendorf. As the hardware specialist for his tech company, he volunteered to follow Dulcie around all weekend while she beta tested a produce app. Little did he know she’d drag him to a boisterous family birthday party where everyone’s convinced he’s her boyfriend.
Frazer’s always kept his emotions close to the vest, which has led to a string of failed relationships. Dulcie’s not about to let him stay behind the walls of his comfort zone, and he’s shocked to discover he enjoys the increased freedom. But freedom comes at a price. Is he willing to let go of his inner perfectionist to keep the woman he loves?
New York Times and USA Today bestseller Vicki Lewis Thompson believes love makes the world go around and laughter makes the trip worth taking. The recipient of RWA’s Nora Roberts Lifetime Achievement Award and the author of more than ninety books, Vicki pioneered a new kind of romance hero with Nerd in Shining Armor. Following the success of her nerd stories, Vicki launched a boisterous paranormal series featuring a matchmaking witch and wizard, an ADD dragon named George, and a black cat inspired by her own precocious feline, Eve.
I'd really like to give this a slightly higher score - say 3.7.
I love this series and all the nerdy books Vicki's written.
While this book is written with the normal fun and good characters I was disappointed with the length and speed of the story.
I didn't realise that this is more of a novella rather a full length book. The story progresses from 0 to 100 in about 3 chapters and for me suffers from this speed. I got to 79% on my way into work - less than 1 hour, and have finished it with 10/15 mins of my lunch.
That being said, it is well written and characters are fun and enjoyable to read. Moving onto the last in this series.
I can't believe I've had these in my TBR for so long. Frazer and Dulcie are so sweet. After he broke up with Miranda (see book 2), he tried to analyze what his problem was. Turns out he just needed a reboot by Dulcie!
The 1st 2 books of this series were alright, so I kept reading on because, you know VLT! And this 3rd does not disappoint! The main character is upright and stuffy so from the 1st page in, he's out of his element in funny situations from children to gopher ball that naturally help him lighten up and realize the cute secretary he's with is who he needed all along. VLT's deft touch raises this romance about the usual to an entertaining read with characters who could be your coworkers. A hint of a mystery to come will probably keep me reading on!
Dulcie is just what Frazer needs and she shows him why. Linda always makes me feel like I'm part of the story and I hate to leave. She also knows how to make geeks sexy. So looking forward to A Nerd To Remember....Garrett and Jocelyn's story in May.
My favorite of the series so far. Watching Frazier leave his comfort zone in various situations was both funny and touching. He was adorable with all his scientific analysis of romantic situations, and sweet in how he dealt with Dulcie's family and pet. Loved it!
